The Capitol Hotel is elegant, beautifully fashionable in an understated sophisticated calming manner. All staff are excellent and very polite and attentive. Breakfast is a phenomenal treat of fresh fruits, vegetables, berries, fish, meats, baked pastries, jams etc. My only comment is that both lunch (in the main dining room) portions and the Chinese dinner portions are slightly too small but absolutely delicious and the service is excellent. We loved our 2 night stay and our morning swims above the city skyline; breathtaking views!!

I loved this hotel. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious with brilliant amenities and a great bathroom. Beds were comfy. The pool and gym were very good (warning to parents - under 18yo not allowed). There were 4 subway lines directly connected to the hotel so getting to other parts of Tokyo was easy. The surrounding area is quiet but with convenience stores and eating options within walking distance. The bar had a nice ambience with good cocktails. The only negative - buffet breakfast is very expensive and not worth the money.

We stayed her for 5 nights and had access to the special lounge everyday for tea time and breakfast. I recommend getting this upgrade because the food and service was top notch. I enjoyed how quiet the area was and how the metro station was two elevators below. Very convenient to all attractions.

Amazing service, attention to detail, amenities, and buffet breakfast. My wife had a lovely time at their spa and we both enjoyed their well equipped pool area and gym. First time staying in Tokyo and the whole staff made us feel at home instantly. It felt like we were on a honeymoon all over again! Amazing hotel in Tokyo. Our room was fabulous. Super spacious, comfortable bedding, all the room amenities you can ask for. The bathtub/shower was a hot. So big and amazing with great water pressure. Incredibly clean, great service, super quiet hotel convenient enough to metro stops but far enough from the crazy hustle and bustle of Tokyo’s busy areas. Loved the breakfasts and they had a super cool speak easy style bar to hang out in also. Highly recommend.

The night view of tokyo from the large window is so romantic. The super king bed and facilities are great. The front desk and house keeping are so professional and friendly. All my chargers and wires are tidied up nicely. pajamas are placed on the bed. Water and cups are ready on the night table. Thats so comfy for me to return to the room after a busy day. Also the wifi speed is fast and stable. This is a plus for working needs.

The service everywhere in the hotel is second to none - from room make up multiple times per day, to daily fresh linens and towels, to the warm greetings at every corner, and even small touches like room service leaving an envelope for our unruly bunch of shopping receipts and coiling our phone charger cables and leaving a tie for them. The breakfast was also excellent, as was the check in and check out. The convenience of the hotel being above a metro station was a nice touch.

Fantastic service and very comfortable hotel. Easily access the subway via the basement of the building. Excellent breakfast and easy checkin/out. Highly recommend the Premier Corner King for the amazing bathroom and views. The shower was unbelievable.

I’m a bit amused to be asked for a review of this hotel. The first time I stayed here, more than ten years ago, I already gave them a stellar review. Over the ensuing years I wrote a few more, each one as stellar as the next. So let me not waste time repeating myself here. I cannot find fault with ANYTHING. Facilities, cleanliness, quality of service from housekeeping to front desk to restaurant to concierge to bell captain, everything was essentially perfect. I’ll point out two things to be specific. When I first got to the room I unpacked and put my toothbrush stuff into a glass near the bathroom sink. The next morning, housekeeping clearly didn’t like how I piled everything into that glass. So a small linen cloth was provided and the items were nicely laid out on it. This not only looked good but also made everything more functional. The same thing was done for the items I put on the desk. Then there was what the concierge did to secure four dinner reservations for me. Reservations at high end, award-winning restaurants in Tokyo is particularly difficult. It took literally several months to get this done, but they did it. Everything was followed up perfectly, nothing was forgotten even if it’s many weeks into the future. Then at check-in, I was given an envelope with all the pertinent information laid out logically and carefully. I can go on and on about other services, but I think I’ve made my point.

I have been to this hotel more than ten times in the last 12 years or so. It remains my favorite by a wide margin. I’ve stayed in many 5-star hotels all over the world, but NONE of them can equal the Capitol Tokyu. For this stay, let me recognize the concierge team, especially Ms. Chihiro Hasegawa. Eight reservations were made for me, not counting a few attempts. Everything was done well, extremely well, with professionalism and kindness. Such a rare combination! But I don’t want to short change the other services as they are stellar too: Housekeeping, restaurant, reception, checkin, bell captains, everything perfect until I climbed into the taxi to leave the hotel. How can a long,12-day stay be so perfect!!

The stay was 10/10. This was because of the finer details. The assistance with the taxi at the front door when leaving, the note left by the cleaner saying she did not clean due to DND sign and that they can do it later if we change our mind (we had accidentally left it on so was good to know why it wasn’t cleaned), slippers left next to the bed, blinds drawn when we came back in the evening, it was a special occasion so they left a card and sweets. I think these small details make it a must stay. The room we stayed in was large, modern and very clean. The shower had great pressure. Overall, excellent stay, recommend!

It was our first stay in Tokio and we decided between the Conrad, the Okura and the Capitol hotels. We ended up choosing the Capitol hotel due to its location. We are currently travelling to multiple countries in Asia and stayed at various hotel brands and types. The capitol hotel was by far the worst hotel we stayed in. The service is terrible, making you feel like an unwanted guest. Their rules throughout the hotel are massively impacting the stay. For example you have to check in to the pool by 8pm latest to be able to use it until it closes at 9 or 10pm, creating unwanted time pressure. When we checked out, we left our luggage and came back 4 hours later and asked to take a quick shower pre departure to the airport. They will charge you excessively to use that shower, which is just crazy, given the amount a night costs at this hotel. We never had to pay to use a locker and the shower pre departure. All in all, I would highly recommend using the Okura instead of this hotel.

Super convenient location since the subway runs in the same building. Concierge was a little less helpful than I’m used to. Rooms were also smaller than expected but I’ve heard that’s just a Tokyo thing. Great view and the restaurant / breakfast was excellent! I really enjoyed staying in this area too since it’s a bit more quiet than what you normally get in Tokyo.

Loved our stay here. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and the accommodations were excellent. Having the metro line under the hotel was an added bonus. The one minor issue is that the surrounding area was not a vibrant as some of the other areas we visited. This is due to the govt building complex around the Hotel. It may also be that we did not explore this area enough in short visit (4 day). I would definitely recommend and stay here again.

I travel quite a bit and was very impressed by this hotel - a true 5-star in world of wannabes. The caliber was clear the moment I pulled up in a taxi and was met by uniformed staff who were as professional as they were friendly. The Room was also spectacular - particularly for the price paid. And dining options were stellar. Seldom have I ordered a room service dinner (I was tired) and received a high-end restaurant quality meal. That was honestly shocking in a good way. All in all, I would - and will - stay here again.

This was a good modern hotel with very nice bedrooms. It is conveniently located above a metro station. I would have appreciated more casual breakfast options (we ended up eating in Starbucks in the station as we didn't want a full sit down breakfast every day).
