Loved the ambience and the friendliness of the staff. The only thing I did not like was at although they had a gym and swimming pool, it cost ¥5000 to access them.

The hours for the restaurants and bars are pretty limited, and even then, they were not always open as scheduled. They also charge an extra fee for using the gym or pool.

Rhiga Royal is a great value. High class environment - lovely bar, breakfast and dinner options in hotel. Very comfortable lobby - good amenities

The staff were excellent and friendly. We were greeted with an English speaking agent on arrival and he provided us wet towels to refresh and brought all our luggage to our rooms. They have a free shuttle that picks you up and drops off to Takadanababa station every 30 minutes. We preferred to walk 10 minutes to Waseda station which is next to a big grocery store. There is a huge garden attached to the property that is very quiet. We enjoyed a beautiful high tea at the garden cafe onsite. We also had a really delicious meal at the Chinese restaurant onsite. We would definitely recommend this place and stay here again. Must try the bakery across the street!

The gardens and main building are wonderful. But the hotel is in desperate need of some TLC. There was cracked tiles in our shower which was a stand in bathtub, the knobs on the beautiful dressers are stripped and fall off, the 1950 wiring is an experience. The staff is excellent but I do agree with many many others the charge for the fitness facility (adequate at best)or pool is extreme

We ended up staying at the Rihga at the beginning and end of our recent trip to Tokyo because we loved the hotel so much! We traveled with our 8yr old son and the additional room was awesome plus the view of the garden is stunning! The staff is super friendly and accomodating, the shuttle is an incredible feature the hotel offers which was one of the reasons we booked it in the first place, it takes you to the main train station in the area, (approx a 10min bus ride) to Takadanobaba Station and at the drop off there are tons of restaurants and shopping options. The only complaint we had was that Expedia advertises this hotel as having a pool, however what it doesnt mention is that 1. Its 3300 yen per person/per entry roughly $30CAD 2. its part of their health club so no children under 12yrs old can go in and 3. nobody with visible tattoos can go in. This was REALLY dissapointing and i do believe expedia should include a disclosure with this pool feature as it was another big reason we chose this hotel as i know most families with children do love having a pool.

Very classic hotel. Lovely gardens & fantastic breakfast. Shame they charge almost $50 per day to use the pool & gym despite advertising it as part of the hotel's amenities.

Great staff. Coming out to greet us to check in as soon as we set foot in the hotel. Very convenient shuttle bus to and from Takadanobaba station.

The staff are extremely polite and helpful. The room was very clean, comfortable, and quiet. A very pleasant experience.

I travel to Tokyo frequently for work, so I'm very accustomed to Japanese hotels, but this was my first stay at Rihga Royal. It's billed as a high-end hotel, but is more of an average hotel with gaudy decor. The staff were all very pleasant and the stay was acceptable, but the property has not been very well maintained. I booked a "luxury double" room, but it was much more cramped than the photos suggested and the furniture was quite worn. Cleanliness was very poor by Japanese standards. There were peanuts and cookie crumbs all over the room floor when I checked in, so they obviously didn't vacuum at all. And they still didn't vacuum after I put out the "please clean the room" door hanger. There was also some dried food on the desk that I had to wipe up. Overall it wasn't terrible, but there are much better options at this price point in Tokyo.

部屋はとにかく綺麗で掃除も行き届いています。 そして何より朝食が素晴らしい。

初日より掃除機が丁寧にかけられていない。 連泊中はともかく、初日から埃ぽくて気になりました。テーブルその他拭き掃除ができておらず不快でした。

廊下やロビー、外観などは素敵でしたが、部屋に入ってみるとユニットバスで特段キレイというわけでもなかったのが少し残念でした。 チェックイン時間よりも３０分ほど早めに言ってしまっても問題なく対応していただいてありがとうございました。 全体的に宿泊の満足度は高かったです。

The service of the staff was excellent. They were all helpful and took care of any need you had, definitely the highlight of the stay. However, there was an earring left behind on the floor and a bit of mold on the shower ceiling that soured the experience. The bed is also a bit stiff.

The room was perfect, unfortunately the garden is closed on Sunday and National holidays, so we could not see it.

This property was overall nice, but was dated. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and the AC did not work in our first room. They were extremely accommodating and moved us rooms when we notified them about the AC. The buffet breakfast was lacking in addition to being over priced. If they make these minor changes. I could see this hotel being a five star property in the future.

Lovely hotel for our last night in Japan. Kind, helpful staff. The kitchen fit us in for one final - excellent - teppanyaki dinner. Easy parking below. We’d already explored Tokyo so location was not essential but it was fine. Would absolutely stay again.

I really liked the location (leafy, near Waseda University, away from the hectic activity of Shinjuku, Asakusa, etc., but easy to travel all over Tokyo as well as to and from airports. I also really liked my room: spacious, rather "old school," in a good way. Because of carpeting and upholstery, there are a few stains, but much warmer atmosphere in comparison with modern hotels with hard, easy-to-clean surfaces.

ジュニアスイートツインルームに宿泊。トリプルで対応いただけるホテルが少なく、しかもリビング付きでこの広さのお部屋は都内では、なかなかこの価格で探せないので、お得感がありました。 立地がやや不便なのですが車の利用であれば、フロントのすぐ地下が駐車場なのでコンパクトな動線でむしろ便利です。 エキストラベットも今どきのスモールサイズのホテルでは望めない、大きめサイズのしっかりとしたベットを入れていただけて寝心地は快適でした。 お部屋の景色もガーデンサイドだったので、都内であることを忘れる心地よい眺め。廊下の騒音などもまったく響かず、とても快適な滞在でした。 最近は古くからの大きなホテルを利用する機会が減っていましたが、昔ながらのゆったりとしたシティホテルも良いものだと思いました。 ひと言だけ残念な点としては、室内の多くの照明が一つのスイッチに集約されてしまっていて、全点灯か全消灯になってしまい、トイレだけでなく洗面全てが点灯してしまい深夜にドアを開けると寝室に煌々とした明かりが差してしまうので安眠を妨げてしまうこと。リビングも、もう少し細かく照明を調整しやすくしてもらえると、さらに快適なのですが…。 あと、レストランや会計のスタッフに、ちょっと教育不足を感じました。感じは良いのですが、ホテルスタッフとしては首を傾げる場面がいくつかありました。 でも全体としては、こちらのホテルを選んで大正解。

Great room. Attentive staff.

The room is outdated and not enough outlets for charging devices and Hubby C-Pap machine. The beds were like sleeping on top of a table. Breakfast was only severed until 9:30, so no sleeping in. The garden was beautiful

This is one of the few hotels that will allow 4 people in one suite and they setup two twin size beds for the kids. Staff was very friendly and helpful though few people spoke English very well — they did have a couple of native English speakers but had to catch them when available. The lobby and restaurants were very nice. The room clearly needs renovation as the furniture, carpets, and walls need cleaned or replaced. Overall very happy with our stay and consider it a good value.

Would not recommend this hotel. Fancy looks, but sub par amenities. We had one of the best rooms you can get, and the bed was hard as a rock and extremely uncomfortable. It left our backs hurting each morning. Also, the shower would not stay at am even temperature. It kept getting hotter then normal. It actually burned me several times.

This was a very nice hotel. The staff were amazing. Very friendly, very polite. I would rate this hotel a 10 on almost everything except I found that the rooms could be cleaned a bit better. The walls and ceiling were dirty the doors were dirty...needs to be wiped down properly especially since this is such a high-end hotel, and the vents and fans are full of dust like they haven't been cleaned for years. I was quite surprised. Also our first night there was a stain on the bed sheets and there was no cleanimg staff to change it so put a make-shift sheet of my own on top of it, but the rooms were very spacious and well laid out. Liked the staff a lot. They were very helpful and professional. The hotel is a bit out of the way, but they have a hotel shuttle to take you to the station which was great.

The property is amazing. The rooms are very large and beautifully decorated. The location is quiet. The lunch buffet was amazing. I also really enjoyed the bar at the hotel The staff there was amazing. The issue I had was the fact that the lady who checked us in did not speak English. We had to rely on Google translate to communicate. For a four or five star hotel in Tokyo where you pay almost $400 a night there is absolutely no excuse for not having an English speaking receptionist at your check in counter. Not only did she not speak English but she was actually getting upset, frustrated or both when people tried to speak to her in English. This is simply unacceptable.

This was our 2nd time staying at this hotel- the last time was back in 2015- and I'm happy to say the service is still just as wonderful. The staff overall are very friendly and welcoming, but I especially want to highlight Santoz and Jimme for their outstanding service.The shuttle is also very convenient , which make this location even better. Everything about our stay was excellent, and we truly appreciate the warm hospitality. we look forward to coming back again.

We stayed three nights at Rihga Royal starting on October 3rd 2024. When we first arrived we were very stressed. I had made the mistake of leaving my backpack on the train on the way to the hotel. The backpack was a brand name (making it a target) and had my passport and all my credit cards and bank card in it as well as jewelry and other valuables I did not want to pack in my luggage. Mr. Nishikawa the very kind and helpful man checking us into our room tried to call the train stations lost and found for me. Unfortunately it was very late and they had closed. At this time it was after midnight in Japan and we had been traveling about 24 hours. Mr. Nishikawa offered to help me again the following morning due to the language barrier. This was a huge relief. My husband and I did not really sleep that night, as you can imagine, but the huge bathroom and very large bath tub were nice to relax in after the long day of traveling. At 8 am I ended up back in the lobby where Mr. Nishikawa was waiting to help me call the train stations. There are several and they started opening from 8 am until noon. Mr. Nishikawa had no luck at the first ones and kept calling until the last stop at Narita Airport. When he told me they found my back pack an hour and half from where we were I could not believe it! Mr. Nishikawa saved our vacation by truly going above and beyond. I don't think I could have found it on my own. The junior suit is extremely spacious and beautiful with tons of amenities.

Overall great service.

we used the hotel shuttle to and from the station. The ride to the station went smoothly, but I had issues returning. On two separate occasions, the shuttle did not show up at the scheduled pickup time, even though we were waiting at the designated location. This caused inconvenience and delays. I hope this can be addressed for better reliability going forward.

This hotel was absolutely fantastic. The room was gorgeous. We had a great view and the staff were so friendly and kind and helped whenever we needed to ask questions. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Tokyo. The shuttle bus to the local metro station was also a god send. 5/5 ⭐️

WE HAD AN EXCELLENT STAY AT RIGHA ROYAL IN TOKYO. PROS: NICE SIZE ROOM, BEAUTIFUL LOBBY, BEAUTIFUL SMALL AND QUAINT PARK ON THE BACKSIDE, HELPFUL AND COURTEOUS STAFF, SUMPTUOUS BREAKFAST BUFFET (PAY ADDITIONAL), VERY CLEAN, VERY SAFE AND FAMILY FRIENDLY. NOT TOO MANY DINING OPTIONS AROUND THE HOTEL, USE METRO TO TRAVEL TO SHINJUKU OR SHIBUA. CONS: AWAY FROM TRANSPORTATION. CLOSET STATION IS WASEDA = 1/2 MILE WALK. USE OF TAXI'S CAN GET EXPENSIVE. IF LOOKING FOR NIGHT LIFE AND ACTION, MAKE A DIFFERENT CHOICE. DINNING RESTAURANTS IN THE HOTEL FOR LUNCH AND DINNER ARE QUITE EXPENSIVE.

Great sized room with plenty of restaurants within the hotel itself and a lovely quiet location away from crazy Tokyo. Perhaps it was a little isolated as there weren't many other restaurants within walking distance. It was a 15 minute walk to the local train station however they did offer a shuttle. There is also a local bus a block away which we used a few times and a tram 3 blocks away. Next time I would stay a little closer to the action although we had a great stay and the staff were very helpful.

すぐ近くにはあまり買い物ができる店はないですが、早稲田大学の近くや大隈公園などか近く散策するのによかったです

One of the most beautiful hotels I’ve stayed at in Tokyo with incredible staff and lots of charm in the architectural aspects of the hotel. Wonderful quite beautiful garden behind the hotel with a great uni coffee shop adjacent to the garden. Centrally located to access all areas of Tokyo on bus and nearby train stations.

Its location is not the most convenient. Hotel is a lil dated, which was expected. Staff was helpful and pleasant. The closest MTR station is a 10min walk, which is not too too bad but, gets old fast. Hotel does offer a shuttled to a different MTR station every 30mins.

ホテル自体の質、接客と、素晴らしく快適に過ごせました。 しかし近くにコンビニやスーパー、食事する場所などが少なく、周辺環境が少し不便だなと感じました。 早稲田駅までも10分ほど歩く必要もあり、高田馬場まではバスも出ていますが30分間隔なので歩いた方が早いという決断に至ってしまうかと思います。 しかしホテルはインテリアやエントランスも美しく窓までも綺麗に清掃されているため景色もよく快適に過ごせました(^^)

We were shocked to learn that individual guest have to pay to use the gym and swimming pool. It costs around $50 each time to use the facilities. After much protest on my part about the lack of disclosure, we were given passes to use the fitness center and the swimming pool. We ( my wife) used the pool once as the rest of our group lost interest as we did not feel particularly welcome. I placed the blame on management policy and not the staff. I have always found the staff friendly and attentive but they have limited authority as to what they can or cannot do Also in the time that we were there, the pool and fitness center was closed for alleged maintenance, The award winning Chinese Restuarant was also closed. This definitely limited our choices The ability to swim in an indoor pool during winter was a major factor in our decision to stay at the Rhiga Tokyo. Being told that we have to pay to use the fitness center and pool makes us regret our choice. From that point onwards ( after our very expensive in the hotel's Japanese Restuarant) we avoided Rihga other dining outlets as we no longer felt like valued guests.

The hotel is a beautiful facility that contains three excellent restaurants, one Japanese and one Chinese, facing beautiful lush gardens. The lobby is large and elegant and rooms spacious and well appointed. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are outstanding in the quality and diversity of the items offered.

Great hotel , close to train station , buffet breakfast was great. Great sized rooms.

The freebies in the bathroom were really great, the power in the shower was amazing. The hotel has an old classic feel and is designed beautifully. The breakfsst could be imrpoved with a few more hot vegetarian options but otherwise fine. The fresh orange juice was a great touch.

The location and staff were good. However, I found the breakfast buffet was too pricey. I would have used it more if it were lower cost. I have travelled worldwide usually there is not an extra charges for pool or exercise room

Excellent stay! Awesome room. Level of Service from staff excellent. They helped us out with things we left behind, things we had to pack special - awesome team. Would stay again. Hotel has great restaurants.
