The Tokyo Dome Hotel is huge, and busy, but it never felt like too much. The room was spacious and beautiful and the staff at the hotel is perfection. They were all so incredibly kind and helpful - offering us umbrellas for the day when it rained etc. The breakfast buffet was stellar! They took care of our luggage forwarding to Kyoto so easily, too. Let me give you just one example of their extreme hospitality: the night we arrived, it was too late in the evening to go out to eat so we went up to the rooftop bar to have a drink or two and a handful of small bites. As always, they pull out and push in your chair when you arrive and sit...but at one point I rose to go use the "facilities' and when I returned, the waiter was right there to pull my chair out...BUT, when I sat down, my shirt brushed my napkin and chopsticks onto the floor (the waiter had walked away). By the time I bent over to pick them up, he was right beside me with a new napkin and pair of chopsticks. This hotel is great. You're not in any part of old town that feels like Japan (which is the only downside), but it is perfection as a hotel.
