Fun to stay so close to the beach and so close to the action. Hotel itself is worn but clean. Bar downstairs closes at 11 so you can get a good sleep after that. Morning coffee is free, and the extensive breakfast choices are modestly priced. (So are the drink the bar drinks.)

Staff were friendly enough. The room was not very clean, shower was dirty in bottom corners, what appeared to be an old shrivelled orange peel was on floor, windows were very dirty. Was noisy with the pub downstairs but also was night of fireworks, so it's hard to say whether this is the norm. Convenient location, very close to English Bay, with a lot of food options close by, the pub brunch was really good. Not the hotel's fault but Expedia listed the location as having a pool, which it does not, it appears that Expedia has updated this now. The room was pricey for what it was, so not sure I'd choose to stay again.

Overall clean, great location, not too noisy, newly renovated bathroom. Only gripe is the carpet in the suite is in dire need of either a shampoo or replacement - you can smell foot sweat when you bend down in the majority of the unit

The room smells like poop specially when you just open the door . I’m mot sure if the carpet or the bathroom drainage. The lotion , shampoo and conditioner comes in a very tiny bottles like around 5-10 ml only. I don’t recommend families with kids as the hotel lobby is attached to the bar that people are noisy and the area smells like weed. The good thing is the location is close to a lot of restaurants. Too expensive for a very basic hotel.

Pros: Fantastic location!!! You seriously cannot beat the location and the view. We also really liked the restaurant attached to the hotel. Cons: We unfortunately had a mouse in our room. Once we notified staff, they were not able to move us to a different room and instead stuffed towels in the entrances of where the mouse would come in. We still had multiple nights of stay after finding the mouse. They did offer one of our nights to be free, however I don’t think they ever refunded us the one night. There was a lot of mouse poop in our room by the end of our stay. We tried to keep good spirits and not let it ruin our vacation but I was afraid to step anywhere and had to put all of our things up high. I was happy to leave, unfortunately. We stayed on the top floor, where you wouldn’t think mice would be. But I think mice are relatively common and are probably in every building around this area. I did wake up many times worrying the mouse was in my bed though.

Great location to walk out of the door and within minutes you’re in Stanley Park and beautiful surroundings. The room was ok, spacious, clean and a nice bed but it was noisy because of the air conditioning units humming.

Window is very old. Metal frame with one layer of glass. Absolute NO sound proofing. Top of that....there is a window AC unit which let the noise come in even more! Friday night was a nightmare! Couldn't sleep for hours because the noise! The owner of this property should try to sleep one of these rooms ( facing to Davie Street).

To begin with, the area is super noisy, loud traffic and bar screams all nights. The hotel is ver old, room is small, and utilities are just barely tolerable. The front desk guys were not helpful if not rude. Not recommended unless you really need to stay close to the beach. This is my worst hotel stay in years. :(

Staff was excellent, always greeted with a smile. This location is close (walkable) to everything you could imagine. Also, transit is so close and accessible to get anywhere (almost) around Vancouver. Half hour walk to the sky train to (and from) the airport. Bus is right outside to jump on and get up the hill to the sky train. To and from the airport for like $10. I can’t say enough great things about this location. Well done Best Western, well done !!

My room had a noise issue from the neighbors, as well as a broken heater. When I asked the manager to be moved, he said there were no rooms available. I looked on Expedia and turned out he was lying. Plenty of rooms of the same type I booked were available. After pointing it out to him, he reluctantly changed my room. I don’t understand what the issue would be with changing the room and why would the manager lie. Terrible service. I highly recommend not booking this hotel. In addition, their walls and doors are so thin and the cleaning people start chattering at 8 am and you can’t sleep past that time. Rooms are also dated and furniture is worn and chipped. The pictures are not entirely accurate.

The hotel is in a wonderful location with English Bay a couple of minutes walk away and lots of great restaurants nearby to choose from. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly but the room and the hotel itself was a bit dated and in need of some modernisation. The window air con unit was very noisy (too loud for sleeping) and there was a strange smell in the room which we mentioned to reception. Overall would recommend for the location but could do with a refresh!

You couldn’t ask for a better location, unless you have a car. Everything is walkable and transit is readily available. Having a balcony is nice with a street and ocean view. Tons of shopping and restaurants nearby, and of course Stanley Park is right there and English Bay with a beach. We will be back.

A decent hotel with great ocean views, conveniently close to both the beach and stores. The additional charge for breakfast is totally worth it—definitely get it! The only downside was that there’s a pub below the hotel, which is also where breakfast is served, and our room was near the laundry room, so it was very loud when we were trying to sleep, even past midnight.

Excellent location for Stanley Park and Sunset Beach, and walkable to downtown. However - hotel looks dingy, all grey. Servicing of the room and bathroom was hit and miss, clean towels but beds not touched. We returned one afternoon at 4.00, nothing done. Breakfast at the adjacent bar took exactly one hour to arrive. We appreciated a fridge but there was NO SAFE, not even at the front desk. So it was ok, but very basic.

The location for exploring English bay and Stanley Park is perfect, much prefer this area than downtown or coal harbour hotels. Property has a good pub/restaurant and staff were great. It's an older building so you have to be ok with that. We stayed in a suite.

The room we stayed in was almost directly above the pub, so it was very noisy until 10 p.m. The staff were friendly and did their best to meet our needs during our stay. The breakfast was excellent and impressive.
