Had an adjoining room and our neighbours were very noisy. We have young kids we were trying to get to sleep. The pool is also so horrible. Like 10ft deep the whole thing. Can’t relax or take kids in.

Wasn’t to happy to find out that the pool was closed as well as the restaurant was under renovations. Nothing on the website stating this. Main reason I booked was of those 2 reasons.

Seemed expensive, though I suppose that’s to be expected in Vancouver. Parking was certainly expensive when considering a spot was not guaranteed and there aren’t many to begin with.

Room was overall pretty clean. The pool is closed permanently and we had not been told or advised. Our room was also quite hot (24-25degrees) and because they had shut the AC for the year we were not able to control the temperature.

I was in Vancouver for work and decided to bring my family along. We’ve stayed at Holiday Inns before — the one in Saskatoon was great, especially because of the pool and gym — so we booked this downtown location expecting something similar. On Expedia, it clearly said the hotel had a pool, which was a big reason we chose it. When we arrived, though, there was a sign saying the pool was permanently closed. That was really disappointing, especially since it was supposed to rain all week and the pool was something the kids were looking forward to. If we had known, we would have booked somewhere else much closer to my workplace. The gym was another letdown. It’s hard to describe, but it just felt damp and humid the whole time. Not pleasant. Finally, when we opened the sofa bed in our room, the bedding was dirty with what looked like Dorito crumbs. I called the front desk and they sent someone up right away to change it, which I appreciated, but it’s not something you want to deal with after checking in. Overall, not the experience I was hoping for. We’ve had much better stays with Holiday Inn before, but I wouldn’t pick this location again.

The layout of the hotel is so strange, I thought I stayed at a maze. So many homeless people in that area, I don't feel safe in the garage and wandering around the hotel.

Pool is advertised but it doesn’t work. No one is allowed to use it. The lights in the gym don’t work so you can’t use that either. There are three different elevators but NONE of them lead to your room. I had to carry 4 pieces of luggage thru stairs. You can’t use a trolley either. Ice machine on the floor doesn’t work. Staff member advised that early check is available but when we arrived they didn’t honor it. Not happy. Not convinced that i should have paid this much money.

The cleanliness was not up to par. the sink room, had shaving bits, tooth paste spatter on the mirror, a used hand towel by the sink, the garbage from the previous guests. the shower and toilet room, the toilet had defecate streak on the bottom, the shower glass had soap spatter still, the floor wasn;t swept as there were some hair balls from previous stays. the bed had long hairs on the duvet still. honestly i feel like it was just an off day for that cleaner and supervisor. Maybe they intended to come back and finish but forgot to? I voiced these with the night auditor, cause I had checked in at 4, dropped my stuff off and met some friends with evening activities and actually got to my room at 12:15am. I've been on both sides so I wasn't expecting much of anything and since the night auditors are only there for the night audit. I would come back as it still felt clean aside from those listed above. the location is great walking distance to restaurants, pubs, venues and shops etc. I will make sure to inspect my room right away before I do anything that way maybe can move rooms or have housekeeping finish the clean.

Our room was not clean! When we got in, there was hair left in the shower and on the bathroom floor, and the pullout bed had a dirty sock and crumbs from the last guest in it. There happened to be a housekeeper a couple of doors down so we asked her to come remake the pullout bed with new sheets. Other than the lack of cleanliness in our room, the hotel was alright. Staff were pleasant to deal with

The pros: the reasonable price, the good central city location, its good service and very clean room. The only cons: this hotel is in an old building, and it’s insulation is not good- we can clearly hear next door room people’s noises, as well as the Traffics from street.

My family and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Vancouver Downtown hotel from July 12-16, stay which I booked and paid via Expedia. On the night of Saturday July 15th, we arrived at our room and the room temperature was 31C. We tried to see if it was that’s the A/C that was off (although we had not moved anything when we left at around 9am that day). After 15 min we called the front desk, q gentlemen came up to my room (704) and said that the A/C was struggling because it was so hot, he opened the window and advised that it would cool down in about 20-30 min. We waited and nothing it only went to 29c with A/C blowing out hot air at which point we called the front desk again and the offered to move us to a lower floor room (level 3) but it was also hot at 25C and were told it would not cool down further as the A/C wasn’t working. At about 12:30 I called the front desk again because nobody was able to sleep and the noise from the street was also horrible. I went down and at first they told me there was nothing they could do, and it was only until I became loud and threatened to camp in the lobby then magically they had 2 single rooms they could offer us with the A/C working. At about 1am my family and I moved to these new rooms, but by then after having arrived at 10pm at the hotel, 3 hrs later everybody so tired were we able to get some sleep as we had a very early AM tour next day

Pros- We were here for personal pleasure, it was super quiet, the beds were like clouds with how absolutely comfortable they were, the staff were very polite and helpful with directions as this was our first travel to Vancouver by ourselves. Very convenient location with convenience stores, restaurants and fast food all within 5 minute walks, the CF pacific mall within 10 minutes. The only cons we experienced was the wifi and the tv, we didn’t necessarily need it as we were out almost all day every day during our stay but using it for bed, our tv would static and black out in repetitive ways. As per the wifi there’s a cast option that will connect you through to your room number wifi, this connection was extraordinarily poor.

Our room was comfortable. Unfortunately it was quite noisy during the night as there was a nightclub close by. It’s very handy for downtown and you can walk to lots of places. Also easy to catch a bus to Granville Island which is worth a visit.

The hotel looked great; however, the rooms could not get cool enough to be comfortable. Had the hotel staff bring us a box fan to help circulate air. It never got below 77 Fahrenheit in the room. The higher floors were worse as the central air couldn’t keep up.

The front desk was not pleasant to speak with. They were very passive aggressive, and short with their responses. It’s like they didn’t want to talk to you, but was forced to. We stayed for a week, and it was like this every time. The housekeepers, and staff outside of the front desk workers were very kind though.

Overall, we had a good experience with the property. However, our check-in was very disappointing. We arrived early(noon) and did not expect our rooms to be ready. The hotel graciously held our luggage and gave us a recommendation for lunch. We we returned at 2, we checked to see if our rooms were ready. They were not and we chose to wait in the lobby with several others while the staff readied rooms. Around 2:30 a line began forming to check-in so we joined the cue. Once we reached the front of the line we we were told one of our 2 rooms was ready and we could go to that room and wait and they would call us in about a half hour for the other room. After waiting for an hour, my husband returned to the front desk and was told our room was not ready still. This was disparaging because he personally witnessed several others receiving room keys. When he told the attendant we were supposed to have been called, he looked on the computer and then got the front desk manager. She then blamed the others working the desk for not calling and had him wait another few minutes. After waiting almost 2 hours beyond when we were told we would have a room, she finally gave him a room key. We recognize they were busy, but clearly our reservation and room got lost in the shuffle.

Cancelled on us last minute for no reason and basically did not help us at all🙂 thankfully fairmont was available and they were awesome and definitely deserve our hard earned money unlike the holiday inn which was nasty. Never stay here, staff are extremely rude as well.

Such a great location. We took the Quick Shuttle from Seattle to Vancouver a day early before leaving for an Alaskan cruise. Great service. Very efficient and friendly staff. Nice room. We slept great.

We loved the location of this hotel. We could walk to Canada Place within 25 minutes and there were numerous restaurants and coffee shops within 5-10 minutes walk. To take an Uber or taxi was also reasonable to many other places including the airport. The hotel was lovely and the breakfast menu offered so many delicious options. Our room was a good size with 2 queen beds, a desk, and a table and chair.

Hotel was ok location is horrible. Downtown Vancouver has a serious issue with drug addicts and fentanyl zombies. Every direction I traveled my wife and I encountered numerous people obviously on drugs. Multiple people standing asleep for blocks. Crazy people yelling at themselves in the street. People openly smoking meth on the sidewalk. Constant sirens. Its a really sad situation. Overwhelming smell of marijuana most everywhere we went. Very dissapointing.

Perfect location in Downtown Vancouver - east access to airport via Canada Line (about a ten minute walk). Very expensive…but so was every hotel in a Saturday night in that area.

This Holiday Inn was great from the start. At the front desk, Julia provided great information about Vancouver attractions and food selection. Jesse’s delightful personality started our day of right during breakfast. Our family tried every breakfast menu item and they all were large portions and quite tasty. I had a room concern I addressed with the front desk that they immediately resolved. The rooms had been recently renovated and there was a heated pool. The depth did get deep quick (9ft) so smaller children might have limited swim area.it is in the middle of everything. I spent less that $10 each Uber traveling to our attractions and we walked to many of them. Great hotel!

We loved the location of this hotel. We could walk to Canada Place within 25 minutes and there were numerous restaurants and coffee shops within 5-10 minutes walk. To take an Uber or taxi was also reasonable to many other places including the airport. The hotel was lovely and the breakfast menu offered so many delicious options. It Was not good experience staying at this hotel. First time seen staff not having co-ordination. Just one incident ( at check out they asked me to pay for dine in bill , it was paid at the table on that day. they were trying to charge double , I insisted more on that & it took them 25mins to figure out & I was in rush to leave at the airport. Another joke if you bought breakfast included option then be careful its just joke & its not buffet service , they will serve to breakfast & your included breakfast has only $25 value ,they don't have cereal for kids only 1 option waffles. staff is so disrectful they don't even wish you & if you ask any question they don't like it. When I complained it to manager he try to settle it by giving a free breakfast to kid for 1 day . I paid more of the TIP than free breakfast . I Can list so many things Stayed there from 19May2023-24MAy2023. So far it was horrible experience.

Was the perfect place to base ourselves for a quick 4 day stay in Vancouver. The staff are very helpful and responsive. The restaurant is a real gem. The food and the service there is top notch. The hotel is a bit dated but who cares unless you spend all day in the hotel? The location is great but the view from some of the rooms is a bit questionable - lanes of garbage. We really enjoyed our stay!

Close to shopping and restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was very hot on our first night, but we just turned off the heater and opened the window a little bit to let cool air in (although it was noisy with the window open as our room was facing the street). Good selection at the hot breakfast buffet.
