Functional hotel in a great location for visiting the theatre, cable car etc. However the rooms feel unloved and in need of refurbishing, no air conditioning and the shower overspills water. There is also limited parking for SUVs and we had to park in the adjacent Wilson’s multi-storey car park. Friendly staff but overall it doesn’t feel like a 4 star hotel.

On arrival was told to park in a different location/property. Away from the hotel parking as the staff said was full. When inquired was told you can park upstairs but since you signed for pa4king there could not be r3funded but have to pay extra. So you did not read the fine print was te managers reply.

Was great, Staff very helpful, room service cleaners could do with better english and replacing all wet towels etc on the floor, instead we did have to go and ask staff when we returned for our shower before the Concert we had tickets for (happened twice out of three nights stay, even when asked!) however the hotel Staff were great, couldn't fault them ;) Close to walk to the Micheal Fowler Centre and Waterfront etc. . . As for the parking, 1st night had to be in the Wilson car park out the back, across the road (until they had room for us in their small parking lot for the following 2 nights) the Wilson Car parking garage had a LOT to be desired! Stunk of urine and very dodgy unsafe looking place with vagrants hanging around, so felt VERY unsafe leaving our Vehicle there, So glad we did not take our new Mustang!

Very nice business hotel in a superb location, near the bottom of Cuba St. Clean and comfortable. Parking is an extra $25/night and incredibly tight/challenging, even in a small car. Staff are helpful and friendly. Breakfast could have been open a half hour later.

We thought the staff were very good and friendly even though there was major construction and development going on hence the street was closed to the entrance for traffic so parking wasn’t so easy to access but they were so helpful

Hotel was excellent for the money! Staff on reception helped on showing how to get to the car park, parking around the back on bond street, everything in walking distance, room clean and hot powerful shower, over-all would stay again Ps can not coment on any food in Hotel had meals out.

Friendly check in but that's where the positves stop. The room was dated, dirty (black hairs on the floor), dusty, noisy, had no air con and was ridiculously overpriced ($350). Won't be back.

The room was great and just what we needed; however, only had one arm chair for two people. That didn't make sense. What we didn't like was the dirty bathroom. The shower and toilet appeared clean; however, the shelves and skirting board/ledges were covered in dust and the plug hole had built up dirt (ew gross!) and we had to clean it ourselves before using it. In today's age with Covid and other viruses/bacteria this is simply unacceptable.

Lovely foyer, great staff. Room small and basic but fine. Bathroom grout was mouldy, plastic shower mat dirty underneath and shower curtain did not stop water leaking out into floor.

This hotel is average, 3 star at most. The facilities are adequate but very dated. The reception and dining areas are modern and very nice, but the rooms and hallways haven't been done for 20-30years. The room was cold and noisy due to single glaze windows. The shower is a bath and the water temperature is not hot enough.

I would not recommend this property. Our room was very small. The view was horrible overlooking the ally & our bathroom shower flooded over the whole floor. They knew it was a problem & had a temporary fix that didn’t not work. The room they gave us should not have been rented out. We were very disappointed.

Easy walking distance to the harbour, Te Papa, etc. Fairly old building with tired looking decor but clean and spacious. No scenic view or air conditioning. Breakfast buffet was average. Bed and duvet were okay. Good for a night or two stays for business.

Excellent location and really close to Takina Conference center and Te Papa. Nice restaurant and breakfast, friendly service. My shower was terrible in my room 224, really low shower head, shower curtain and flooded badly after only a minute. Couldn't shower for more than a couple of minutes and still flooded the entire toilet area. They gave me more towels to try and contain it.

Het hotel ziet er prachtig uit en het personeel is vriendelijk. Het is echter onmogelijk om een nacht normaal te slapen als het ook maar een beetje waait. Het giert dan langs de ramen met zoveel lawaai dat het zelfs door oordoppen heen komt.

The staff couldn't have been more helpful after I discovered I had made a mistake with my booking. They took the time to sort this out and were very warm in their manner. What had been a stressful situation was taken care of with ease and I was able to to return to peace of mind.

The hotel is perfectly placed you can walk everywhere easily from here. The down side was that there is ongoing construction near the hotel and from 7am or so there is horrid construction sound on week days that made the whole experience not as great as it should be. The hotel is otherwise excellent as is the service

Disappointed with this accomodation. For the price I paid I expected more. Room was very dated, no air con, terrible old spring mattress that sagged in the middle, old bathroom/shower, buffet breakfast was average at best - no bread was served and the hot food was luke warm. Wouldn’t recommend this if you’re expecting modern facilities.

The staff service was excellent. Unfortunately the evening meal was not. I ordered the "Pork Belly" for mains and "Tiramisu" for desert. The "Pork Belly" was extremely tough, my knife could not cut it, I used the fork to tear it apart; I returned what I could not eat. The "Tiramisu" was a very bitter taste, like burned coffee grounds - and I frequently order this for desert but never before experienced this bitter taste. I told the waitress my opinion of the "Pork Belly" but not the embarrassing Tiramisu. Brian Green
