Excellent staff and location

Loved this hotel, great art work and ambience. Large room with very comfortable beds We really enjoyed the cooked breakfast in restaurant overlooking Wellie harbour.

Breakfast good

I stayed at this hotel several years ago for a 4-week period and it was amazing. This time I feel the hotel is tired. The cabinetry is damaged, the shower leaked everywhere, the heat mirrors didn’t work, neither did the bathroom vent. There was no mini bar, and the bathroom cosmetics are clearly refilled from bulk and never been left to be fully used making the formulas unpleasant to use and not cleaned. On two occasions we attended to seek staff support at reception and there were no staff available. At one stage 16 people were in the reception for one reason or another with only one staff member to assist. The pool and gym are also tired with the pool freezing cold and worn carpets. It’s sad that this is the hotel that is meant to represent Wellington’s best in hotel stays. Investment is needed. Staff however were great, friendly, welcoming, and went out of their way to assist.
