We arrived about an hour early and were disappointed that the road signage was so poor that there was no reference to the Museum Hotel, the road signs were for the QT apartments. When we arrived there no concierge for the valet parking. While we waited for our room, others who arrived after us were able to access their rooms. It took 30 minutes after getting to our room for our bags to be dropped off. Our room was comfortable and big, the shower was nice, but there was no drinking water and there was an unknown fibre in the kitchen sink. The breakfast was terrible, items were cold, poor choice, and service was poor. We were not offered a cafe coffee, the plates were awkwardly placed under the serving area.

Fantastic art-filled hotel - so classy. Excellent location, quiet and safe. Great value too. Plenty of space in the room and a full sized bath. The gym, pool and spa were open until 11.30pm which was amazing.

Hotel is in a great location and rooms were very clean , but felt dated and needed a refresh . Kids loved the pool and spa and was nice it’s open later as due to the time difference for us was nice to use it later in the night

Excellent property, really great amenities including in-room washer/dryer/dishwasher. Pool was being renovated while I was there, which was a slight bummer. Good gym and sauna. Restaurant so-so for breakfast.

Staff at the front desk were a bit vague. Wanted $50 per night for car parking, but looked like no parks on site and car would be taken somewhere by someone. Room was very stuffy. Finally found the air conditioning was isolated in the switchboard and got it going.

Unfortunately our room was not completely cleaned. Food was left from the the previous guest. The young man( blond with a ponytail )at the coffee bar had an attitude when asked a question. We were really surprised at the quality of service in Wellington after staying at the QT in Queenstown where we received outstanding service. No issue's in Queenstown, it was beautiful, clean and very kind employees.

Stayed for 6 nights in a studio twin room. Reception staff were not very friendly. I had to return my keycard 3 times during my stay as it wasn't working. Housekeeping is not managed well. I only had housekeeping one morning during my stay. Floor in kitchen area was sticky on arrival. It was cleaned when I complained to reception. Bed was made but none of the bins were emptied. Floor not vacuumed. Wash cloths taken but not replaced. These issues were rectified after complaining to reception. Only 3 coathangers in wardrobe. Very poor lighting in room. Unable to read. Bed extremely soft. Close to New World supermarket which was fantastic. Enjoyed the art thruout the hotel. Walking distance to Oriental Bay,, Mt Victoria and CBD, Cable car etc.

The staff were excellent. The hotel perhaps has lost some of its lustre. I found trying to operate black switches on black walls difficult. The WiFi was good (top marks for Ruckus H-series APs), but the service behind it was patchy at best with frequent speed drops. There was a patch of black mould on the ceiling of our room, which housekeeping dealt with promptly. Bed was comfortable, room lacked a sofa and the golden chair was perhaps the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever sat on. Show heads need replacing. All in, I’d call it acceptable to good.

Clean, quiet and convenient location for exhibitions. Room was a bit stuffy and smelly from cooking smells from previous guests. We found this most unpleasant as deodoriser should have been sprayed. It lingered for the 3 nights we stayed. Bed was comfortable. Bulbs in lamps needed replaced. Housekeeping should check this when rooms are vacated

Room was good and it had a partial view of the harbour. Having a washing machine was very handy. The bed was comfortable but the bedding was strange, the duvet wasn’t in a duvet cover, instead it was enveloped by a top and bottom sheet and that drew attention to the fact the duvet was stained.

Unfortunately the cleaning wasn't up to scratch in the room, shower not fully cleaned before arrival and the towels taken away but not replaced for day 2 - very awkward when you get out the shower...

Rooms lovely and spacious, bed a little soft but comfortable. But the air conditioner was so noisy one couldn’t have it on while trying to sleep! I did report it and hopefully it will be addressed. The rooms were really nicely furnished spacious and very comfortable. For a hotel if this standard I thought they could have moisturiser and hand towels and washers in the bathrooms and tissues that didn’t disintegrate at the slightest sign of use, but annoying as those elements are it probably wouldn’t stop me returning. Staff and service were excellent.

The best part was to shower. Don't let others tell you otherwise. To shower was by far the best part of this property. You truly have to experience it to understand what I'm talking about. The worst part of the property are the light switches. Again, this is one of those things you have to experience to understand. But the switches are not where you would think they would be and the things they turn on and off are not what you would expect. I don't know who designed this. But the actual hotel was very nice. The front desk was very nice. The art not so nice. Just kidding it was. The art was a highlight

Great location however what lets this hotel down is the consistently bad service at the front desk and the overall condition of the apartments. I’ve stayed at this hotel and the QT and other properties on various stays in Wellington and the Museum hotel is the worst. The combined front desk, cafe set up is a disaster with staff behind the counter just standing around unable to service guests when checking in or out (presumably staff rostered here are not cross-trained to serve both front desk and restaurant customers). Rooms furnishings are more style over substance with chairs uncomfortable to sit in, my bathroom was poorly designed with an unnecessarily large spa bath compromising both the shower and toilet areas, and kitchen facilities are almost worthless due to lack of a suitable area to eat any food you cook. I intended to cook during my stay but didn’t due to the poor facilities provided in my apartment. The apartments are large enough just poorly designed! Leaking fridge in the first room I was allocated is also indicative of a hotel with poor systems and processes as the room was not in a condition to be activated for allocation to guests.

The place was walking distance to everywhere. The foyer of hotel was amazing, the art work and ambience was very unique! We stayed in the apartment section of hotel, our room was large and stylish but had a few issues. The aircon was extremely noisy even when the fan was on low, the bed wasn’t super comfy and the water from shower went under the door flooding the bathroom.

It’s difficult to find this place! It’s hidden within QT Hotel but there’s nothing advising that. Lots of art around the place. Room was spacious and comfortable. Lighting is terrible … it’s a dark room with lamp lighting, so bring a torch! Bathroom is a very weird configuration and poor drainage meaning water everywhere and wet feet. All necessary appliances but very limited crockery and cutlery. Noisy aircon, but fortunately not necessary to leave it turned on. Comfortable bed with good linen.

Very clean and upscale apartments in a convenient location on the water in Wellington. We ended up parking in the lot across the street for $12 a day from 8am to 8pm. There is free street parking after 8pm until 8am. If you park in the lot we did, make sure they do not have a market in the morning. We almost made the mistake of getting our car stuck in the middle of it. One huge negative with our stay was how loud it was from the nightlife until 4am outside. The motocycles and cars with obnoxious exhausts crusing by early in the morning. I would request a room in the top level and the other side of Troy street.

Was very nice but does not warrant the extra $100 per night for the extra stare compared to others in the area. Was a bit of a joke having dripping liquid ice trays that ruined the food we paid a lot for in room service. Also the museum is an Appropriate name as they don’t even have smart tvs with Netflix. A lot of nice touches were completely absent which made the 5th star a bit of BS

The reason I have three stars is not because the hotel wasn't nice but because the service wasn't quite up to the mark. The concierge at the front desk were quite rude. I had to call multiple times to get basic toiletries which should be included in the room by default!

We arrived about an hour early and were disappointed that the road signage was so poor that there was no reference to the Museum Hotel, the road signs were for the QT apartments. When we arrived there no concierge for the valet parking. While we waited for our room, others who arrived after us were able to access their rooms. It took 30 minutes after getting to our room for our bags to be dropped off. Our room was comfortable and big, the shower was nice, but there was no drinking water and there was an unknown fibre in the kitchen sink. The breakfast was terrible, items were cold, poor choice, and service was poor. We were not offered a cafe coffee, the plates were awkwardly placed under the serving area.

It’s difficult to find this place! It’s hidden within QT Hotel but there’s nothing advising that. Lots of art around the place. Room was spacious and comfortable. Lighting is terrible … it’s a dark room with lamp lighting, so bring a torch! Bathroom is a very weird configuration and poor drainage meaning water everywhere and wet feet. All necessary appliances but very limited crockery and cutlery. Noisy aircon, but fortunately not necessary to leave it turned on. Comfortable bed with good linen.

Very clean and upscale apartments in a convenient location on the water in Wellington. We ended up parking in the lot across the street for $12 a day from 8am to 8pm. There is free street parking after 8pm until 8am. If you park in the lot we did, make sure they do not have a market in the morning. We almost made the mistake of getting our car stuck in the middle of it. One huge negative with our stay was how loud it was from the nightlife until 4am outside. The motocycles and cars with obnoxious exhausts crusing by early in the morning. I would request a room in the top level and the other side of Troy street.

The hotel is in a great location close to Te Papa, the waterfront, supermarket and restaurants. The rooms was spacious and clean with good amenities provided (the bath was massive!) I was a little disappointed that we didn’t get bathrobes or shower caps, simple things like this really elevate a stay. Also it was very noisy at night with loud cars and people outside (it was a Saturday), so if you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs! The pool and spa was nice, but a bathrobe would have helped the trip there and back in swim suits….. Overall a nice stay and recommended if you want a clean spacious room with an excellent location.

This place is pretty swanky with great artwork all around. Parking is paid valet. Room amenities great except shower drain was poorly located and resulted in pooling of water. There were no hooks or anything to hang towels which was weird. Breakfast alacart on day, super delicious and buffet one day which was great. Excellent location for museum restaurants shopping etc

Hotel disappointing, would have thought hotel of this price, over $350 with breakfast and car parking, could at least supply good coffee in room, not just instant. One of reasons for choosing this hotel was the restaurants which on arrival find one closed for refurbishment and the other not serving dinner although there was food available in lounge bar, none of this mentioned when booking. My wife and I attended show and arrived back at hotel about 5 to 10 to find no food available in hotel, restaurant closed and no room service available. Seems like more attention given to the great art works in hotel than clientele. Plus was staff great and breakfast good. Would not stay here again

This hotel is really different. Set like a modern art museum the rooms are well appointed and feels like a touch of luxury. Great location by Te Papa. A few annoying things, taxis drop you at the back door due to one way streets and that door is locked. Nothing like standing in windy wellington waiting for someone to answer the buzzer, then the phone when I gave up on the buzzer. That was a pain. Ask your taxi to loop around to main entrance. The a-la-carte breakfast was great but some days its the worlds smallest buffet for over $30. I was insulted, that was a rip off. Bar staff great, fabulous gin bar, rooms fantastic, but plan to have breakfast elsewhere on buffet days!

This was my fourth stay , but unfortunately I was disappointed with the room this time as it was closest to the intersection which had a lot of road noise during the night and early hours of the morning, so we had disturb sleep. Room was well presented and quiet but the air conditioning / heating was noisy. If you turned it off it got cold and there’s no blankets in the rooms. The pool is a bit disappointing there’s no lights in the pool and nowhere to sit if you’re not going in the pool. Room was well presented with everything you need. Breakfast was average at best and apart from the view I’d go elsewhere to one of the cafes. Staff were all very helpful

This is a fantastic, more affordable wing to the QT hotel. Ideal location, some awesome amenities, comfortable beds. The reason for the cheaper rates in these rooms is their age and minimal refurbishment. They probably over deliver on their price however. Recommended!!
