Hotel was very pleasant. Was quieter than I thought it would be since right in the heart of Wellington’s night life. The breakfast was great and the staff were very attentive and polite. Also note, if you want drinks delivered to your room, it’s a $5 delivery fee. That was a first for me lol Other than that, nice place to stay if your having night out in the city.

A decent hotel for the price. Whatever you do, don’t bring a car. The parking lot is way too tight. We had a midsize car and one of us had to get out of the car and direct the other as to not hit anything. It took 15 minutes to get in or out.

Great location for access to Te Papa and the Waterfront Area. Spacious and clean room. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet was a worthwhile addition. Bar and dining areas are sterile and noisy, but the food and service was excellent.

we booked this hotel after having to relocate from another hotel in the middle of the night (at the last minute). We were very pleasantly surprised - the location is very close to everything, so extremely walkable. We were very happy to have an interior room due to all of the noise in the city centre as it was Cuba Dupa weekend (we don’t know if it would’ve been noisy in the exterior rooms. But we were very appreciative to have a quiet room). we ate in the on site restaurant for breakfast on one day - it was competitively priced versus other breakfast/brunch locations. we would recommend others to stay here. If you are using the on-site parking facilities, we recommend having a smaller car rather than an SUV or pick up!

Clean room. Nice staff. The absolute worst parking garage I have ever used. Exceedingly narrow - and we had a small vehicle - parking spots. Each turn around a corner required multiple attempts of turning wheel and reversing, driving forward, turning wheel again, reversing again, and so on.

Clean, well maintained room. Friendly staff. Enjoyed our stay. Would prefer an actual door to the bathroom instead of sliding glass. Was a big gap so not much privacy. Good, central location. But a few homeless people out the front. Car park facility was convenient, but very small, wouldn’t want a big car. Was a squeeze in a compact car.

Both our bathrooms were dirty. One toothpaste on the vanity. The other hair that hadn't been vacuumed. Great location, really handy to St James Theatre. However I'd expect more for the price I read so many comments able the parking and I wouldn't park there again. Due to a vehicle parked by a down ramp it was near impossible to get down a ramp and this could have been mildly better if that parking site in particular has been for a small car only. The bed was super comfy!

Drawer in room damaged, maintenance promised but never arrived. Cigarette butt in safe, promised cleaners but never arrived. Dirt and food wrappers on top of wardrobe/cabinets. Unfit for purpose shower design, water all over bathroom floor and partially on carpet. Poor lighting, bathroom and entry are only main lights plus backlit headboard. Noisy, could hear hallway noise and a lot of noise/loud music from nearby establishments. There was always light under the main door to the hallway and the fan in the bathroom did not work. Surfaces had not been properly wiped as dust and bits left on them. Overall ok for sleeping but did not meet expectations.

The hotel was a great location for Cuba Street activities. Our run was on the street side and the street activity was loud: music, cars, and people (5th floor). The room was not clean. Toenails on the floor by the bed, hair in the shower. Not a great option if you are sharing the room as the bathroom doors are frosted glass in the middle and see through on the top and bottom.

Location is great, good sound proofing so you wouldn't know you're in the heart of Wellington. Need more attention to cleanliness. The shower was not clean, someones old toothbrush was in there and hair on the ground which was gross. The heatpump also leaked the whole time so the carpet had a wet patch. As long as you stepped over it to get to the bathroom you were ok. Wet socks are not a vibe! Friendly staff at check in.

Great stay, always lovely staff and food and clean. Only small complaint is the tables in the room are not a good height to work at in an office desk capacity. I work from my room in between meetings and it can get uncomfortable. If there is a desk height table on request that would be amazing.

Had a great stay at the Oaks for my week in Wellington. I was solo traveling, and this room (city view) was the perfect size. Would also be perfect for a couple as it’s big enough. The bed and pillows were really comfy, the bathroom was modern and the shower was nice and big. Staff were friendly, and also greeted their guest. Would definitely stay here again. 😊

We only stayed one night but found the hotel was convenient to most of the inner city things we had planned. Room was an internal one (no window) but for 1 night that was fine. Room was clean, bed comfortable and bathroom spacious. Parking was self-parking in house (very tight/tiny parks but adequate). Had some issues with check-in - slow due to only 1 staff member on and some computer issues but checkout was very fast. Overall we would recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Room was perfect, bed very comfortable and the shower was great. Noise from street, nightclubs and bars was annoying when trying to sleep and the outside entrance filled with homeless people wow culd not believe to see this problem has gotten worse. Carpark tried to book this in advance and was told this was not an option as first in and had to look for a park elsewhere.

We stayed one night at the Oaks Wellington, the hotel is located in city center making it easy to explore everything. the staff were super friendly and accommodating, they allowed us to park and check in early so we could explore the city. They also upgraded us to a city view room. Room was clean and nice with complimentary tea in the room. The breakfast was amazing, one of the best breakfasts I had in New Zealand large spread with lots of options. Great stay, will stay here again when in Wellington

We booked this room in the middle of Wellington because the gold membership included free self parking but when checking in they didn’t honour that so we parked elsewhere. Very disappointed as that was one of the reasons for choosing it and especially annoying when they tried to charge us for their parking we didn’t use on check out. Check in was very slow but the room turned out to be fine

I booked my parents here for the location and included free car park. They arrived and were informed that there was no free car park even though we listed this under the special requests. The receptionist, Chloe, was very unhelpful with the issue and was actually very rude and did not offer compensation until I turned up later and prompted her. It appears that this is an ongoing issue. It cause lot of stress for my stress for my elderly parents. Apart from the terrible reception and welcome, the overall room and hotel was clean, warm and nice.

The room was clean and tidy. Reception staff were very helpful. The restaurant staff were mostly very friendly and kind but one younger make staff member on the cash register was hostile and disinterested when we went to pay for our meals. We dined in the restaurant twice and would have gone back but he ruined our stay. He needs a customer service refresher course!!

Hello. At check in, Miss J didn't say hello to us. Just asked my surname and to check for correct spelling. She did not tell us about the property. I asked about our parking and she said she couldn't take our small SUV and to look elsewhere. She said our car may be towed if we left it behind the Hotel. My wife and i were stressed . We rang around to find parking for our car. She wasn't helpful at all. Great location but poor poor service after a 4 hour drive.
Hello. At check in, Miss J didn't say hello to us. Just asked my surname and to check for correct spelling. She did not tell us about the property. I asked about our parking and she said she couldn't take our small SUV and to look elsewhere. She said our car may be towed if we left it behind the Hotel. My wife and i were stressed . We rang around to find parking for our car. She wasn't helpful at all. Great location but poor poor service after a 4 hour drive.

Lovely stay at the Oaks Wellington Hotel. Such a great location which made it so easy to get around either walking or using the bus. Easy walking to Te Papa Museum and shopping locations. The check-in staff were so helpful and friendly and made us feel so welcome. The room was very nicely appointed and comfortable. Would certainly stay again!

Oaks is a charming hidden gem in Wellington, conveniently located and easy on the wallet. The staff are incredibly friendly, with Sophia standing out as a shining example of care and excellent customer service. It’s always my go-to spot whenever I visit Wellington. The place is simple, clean, efficient, and perfectly situated. Highly recommended!

This was a great hotel for our long weekend in Wellington. Everything was walking distance away and the bus from the airport stopped right outside. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Lots of restaurants and shopping in the area. The room was modern, clean and as described. Would stay here again!

Room was a good value, though we did miss a window. Part of the street felt a little seedy, though there was a great Italian restaurant at one end and plenty of nightlife at the other, and the location was convenient to the Te Papa museum.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. We loved the bed and the super large shower. I really liked the provided toiletries, smelled lovely! The only issue we had was with the parking. It is very tight and difficult to manoeuvre. The first space we were assigned to was impossible to get into (right next to the wall) and thankfully the second space was manageable. The front desk staff was so helpful with all that. The location is central and convenient, lots of restaurants and entertainment. It’s also close to the waterfront, which has great art and views.

Room was perfect, bed very comfortable and the shower was great. Noise from street, nightclubs and bars was annoying when trying to sleep and the outside entrance filled with homeless people wow culd not believe to see this problem has gotten worse. Carpark tried to book this in advance and was told this was not an option as first in and had to look for a park elsewhere.

Decent accommodations, hotel bar closes much to early (9:30pm), area around hotel needs cleaning up as everything looks run down. Also lots of homeless around the area. There were some nice bars and a couple restaurants. The chocolate factory was great!

Me parecieron muy bien las habitaciones con una gran tamaño y cómodas en todos los aspectos. El hotel está muy bien, pero no me agradó mucho la parte exterior del hotel en donde la gente toma y hay indigentes. Entiendo el porqué tienen un guardia en la noche, pero en el día no me siento muy seguro en esa calle.

Great location - close to shops, bars, restaurants, cinema, theatre - hotel could do with a really good clean - INTERNAL rooms have NO windows so be aware - lifts are extremely slow and you can not get to any other floor but your own (just mentioning if you are traveling with other guests located on a floor different to yours as you need to tap your room card in the lift) - nearly every day our room card stopped working to get into our rooms - the BREAKFAST is virtually cold on the cooked buffet breakfast as they only have heating lamps to try and keep it warm which then it's not worth the price, the A' La Carte breakfasts took about 20 minutes to cook/arrive but at least it was hot - the car park is extremely tight, be aware if you have a large vehicle to park - there was a lot of noisy other guests, some altercations & others being 'sick' in the corridors which did disturb our stay but thats due to it's location and a weekend stay - check your "check to bill" as we were charged for items when we shouldn't have been charged for - they give you only 2 coffee sachets in your room but you can ask for additional at reception - staff suer friendly and try and help if they can - unless you are a "clubber/party scene" then I would avoid at weekends or if you are wanting a quiet hotel! If you would like to give me a thumbs up for this review as I have taken time to submit this information to help you with your stay - you do have to 'push' if you are entitled to FREE room upgrades.

We were not advised when we booked that a) the bar shut at 10pm on Sunday and Monday and b) the restaurant was closed for lunch and dinner on Sunday and ALL DAY MONDAY!! This is not how we expect to be treated, when hotel guests. A complete disregard of customer service

Very handy to everything we needed. Clean room and comfy bed. The restaurant however was terrible. For the cost it was extremely disappointing. I expected fresh vegetables, not under cooked frozen peas and fries. The meat was cold and not cooked well at all. Do not recommend at all.

Great location for access to Te Papa and the Waterfront Area. Spacious and clean room. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet was a worthwhile addition. Bar and dining areas are sterile and noisy, but the food and service was excellent.
