We loved the location of this hotel. Because of its proximity to Santa Maria Maggiore and Termini station, we could get literally anywhere in the city by train, bus, or hop-on-hop-off bus. The basilica is gorgeous at sunset and lit up at night and a trip to the roof bar is a must, although I would not recommend the restaurant which was overpriced with terrible service. The front desk staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel is older and a little shabby and the rooms are tiny, but charming and very clean. If you plan on spending a lot of time in your room or want to be in the middle of the Roman nightlife, this is not your place. We loved that it was tucked away a bit and thoroughly enjoyed our daily cappuccino with a view of the basilica.

Efficient and friendly check in. Staff friendly. Room was quite tired and dated. Lovely rooftop bar and restaurant but needed use of stairs to reach. On arrival, we were told where we were allowed to sit. Hotel seemed to prioritise customers who had booked for dinner over hotel customers. Breakfast ok but had to wait 15-20 minutes each morning to get coffee. Hotel is in a great position with eating and drinking options nearby

I chose this hotel due to its 4 stars & location. Although I knew it was old style nothing prepared us for it's outdated rooms, overall faded grandeur and the misplaced grandioisity of the staff. Breakfast was okay but dinner did not impress and was quite bland. In summary the rooms are outdated and the carpets, furniture and all fittings have seen better days. The bathroom fittings are evidently old and our shower was caked in black mould and took a long time to drain...it was quite disgusting. I would not recommend this hotel. Just to note the rooftop bar and restaurant can only be accessed by four sets of stairs which is not ideal for anyone with mobility issues.

Nice hotel. Service oriented, friendly and helpful staff. Loved the terraced bar, where we also had our breakfast. The hotel probably could do with some updating. Very convenient: 5 minutes from Roma’s main train station. Restaurants, bars and cafes nearby. Walkable to many of the historical sites.

I would have thought this hotel was much older than it is- outdated fixtures, poor water pressure in the shower, leaky sink, grungy carpet in the hallways and stairs. No smart TV, just a small 14 inch (ish) that only has only Italian stations. The majority of the front desk staff needs a course in basic civility. The breakfast however, was awesome with an incredible view.

Not sure how this is rated a four star hotel. There were stains on the couch and tons of dust accumulated on the carpet. None of the outlets would keep a plug in so I could not charge my devices. Bathroom is nice and breakfast is lovely though.

デラックスダブルルームに2024年7月に2泊しました。最上階の5階でサンタマリアマッジョーレ大聖堂が正面に見え、窓からの景色は最高でした。バスタブもバスローブも用意されていました。エアコンはよく効くのですが、少しさむくなったのでスイッチをオフにしてもしばらくすると自動でオンになっていました。使いませんでしたが、湯沸かしポットとインスタントコーヒーやティーバッグもありました。近くにはスーパーマーケットもあるし、飲食店も多く、安価な衣料品店もありました。朝食は最上階で屋内と屋外の席がありますが、屋内からでも見晴らしはとても良い感じでした。朝食自体の内容ですが、緑色の生野菜も少しあり助かりました。屋上の朝食会場はは夜はBarになるようでしたが、金曜日の夜は1:00AMぐらいまで床を踏み鳴らす音が響きわたり、ちょっと眠れませんでした。木曜日はそれほど騒がしかったという印象がないので週末だけの騒ぎかもしれません。週末の宿泊で早めに就寝する方は、最上階より4階以下のほうがよいかもしれません。大聖堂側を遮る建物はないので、4階以下でも見晴らしはそれほど変わらないと思います。スタッフも親切で、東洋人だからといって差別的な態度を取られることもなかったと思います。総合的にはとてもおすすめできるホテルです。

Room much smaller than expected, photos and description deceptive - no double sink or nice view despite paying more for a premium room on high floor. Most inconvenient lack of plug sockets - the couple available after unplugging phone and tv were ancient looking with three small pins in a row - NOT standard 2-pin Italy/Europe sockets. Roof bar a complete rip off - €25 for cocktails and €10 for coke or water. Breakfast was nice. Location okay - Maria maggiore just over the road and colosseum 20 mins walk - but everything else was quite far to walk.

Room was adequate but small to our liking, but we had tons of luggage which made it a bit tight. The restaurant was very nice, but it was difficult to get them to seat us. We were there prior to any one there so I did not understand what was going on. Finally we got to eat a great dinner and enjoy the beautiful sunset.

The single room was very small. I was given a room on the first floor and when I asked for a room on a higher floor, I was begrudgingly given one on the third floor. The breakfast as very good, as was the breakfast service, but the restaurant and bar service was snooty, slow, and unresponsive. When I complained to the front desk, they just shrugged it off. I would not go back.

This was my second time staying here and I highly recommend it. The location is perfect and close to the train and cafes and shopping. The staff are wonderful. I always choose a room with a view which is spectacular and is the cherry on top. The breakfast is the best and the staff like Jenny are so friendly and make you feel like family. I will definitely stay there again!

I messaged property weeks before my stay for a reservation and they confirmed. I get there for my trip and I wanted to verify and the man said he doesn't know anything about it even thought I showed him the messages. He said the messages were not with the hotel but with Expedia which makes no sense as it clearly stated it was them who messaged. The breakfast staff was amazing!

Wonderful location, very walkable area. The short grey haired woman behind the desk was very rude and was never nice. We asked her if we could borrow an adapter and she said the hotel never loans those out because people steal them. Our friend also staying in the hotel was then loaned one from another hotel staff. This woman is losing that hotel business. I will not stay here again because of her behavior. Breakfast was very nice overlooking the city from the rooftop terrace. Nice hotel but not worth the money when you have staff that are not accommodating whatsoever. Sorry Mecenate Palace, never again.

Location was great. 7 minute walk from Termini Station, hop on and hop off bus stop 2 minutes away, souvenir stands and stores everywhere, 1 of the four major Basilica churches across the street which was very beautiful and a must see. Property is dated but very quaint and clean.

We had booked this hotel because it was fairly close to the main train station, which we ended up not using, but it was still a good location - close enough to the Colosseum and a short taxi ride to popular areas such as the Spanish steps. We loved the buffet breakfast, which always had a great variety to choose from, and the views from the rooftop restaurant can't be beat!

The room was very nice, clean, and comfortable. The location to/from the Rome Termini was great for walking without need for additional transportation needs. Mecenate location was close to shops, restaurants, including a jump onto the subway down the street on the same block was beneficial. The Roof restaurant and bar area was a great space to enjoy.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Wonderful breakfast on the rooftop restaurant included. Basilica right across the street, as well as a food market where you can get wine and snacks for your room. Walking distance to Trevi Fountain and Colosseum. Hop on Hop off bus stop right around the corner. Location couldn't have been better.

This is a beautiful hotel, the staff are friendly and helpful. Love room 410 with the view of the Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore absolutely outstanding and is the view from their rooftop restaurant 👏 we walked to the coliseum which was amazing. The bus stop outside hotel m, bus 590 takes you to the Vaction museum 5 min walk. Or the Metro and main bus centre is only 5 mins walk with so many options to travel around Rome. Close to train station. About 20 minute walk to the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. About an 18 minute taxi ride to The Vatican. Wonderful complementary breakfast at the rooftop restaurant. Our deluxe queen room overlooked the Basillica Santa Maria de Maggiore and square where there was mass every night outside! We felt very safe here. Our room was large with double sinks. There's a great gelato shop right next door with several small restaurants around the square. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. They arranged an airport van for our airport return (e60 in cash). The driver was early. We would definitely stay here again. 😊
