Absolutely adored the location. It was close to everything that we needed over the days that we were there. Loved having the coffee in the morning, but there's no coffee in the rooms, rooms are smaller than US size which should be expected. The showers and bathrooms were much smaller than expected, but that should also be expected when leaving the US. They were very clean, courteous and multiple people on property spoke English which helped. There is an elevator on site which helped a lot, but it only holds three people MAX. The elevator is very slow but reliable. While they do provide breakfast everyday, if you're used to US or variety, you will be disappointed in the pastries and pastries they serve for breakfast.

Room was supposed to be “superior” very dated, however was clean. Bed very uncomfortable. So called roof terrace was in need of renovation. Breakfast very basic. Gentleman at reception very nice though. Good position for train station and attractions

Room on top floor, elevator stops at 5th floor one level below. Had to carry luggage up one floor. Air conditioning comes on and off, had to adjust thermostat to keep it on. Our room also just outside elevator machine room makes noise at night. Better if you stay on lower floor and away from elevator. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Service was excellent.

The hotel is very central to many places. However, the hotel has a tiny elevator that only goes to the fifth floor, and my room was on the sixth floor. The front desk personnel are not very friendly and not helpful at all. It is almost a batter to them when you ask for something. But overall it is an ok place to stay for a few days.

Right by Roma termina which made getting to and from airport accessible. Friendly staff rooms were good size and cleaned daily. Only downside was no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms. But over all 10/10 would recommend.

Es un hotel que ofrece todo lo que necesitas para una visita donde quieras conocer la ciudad. Ubicada muy cerca a la central de trenes. Roma Termini y donde llegan los Buses que te llevan y traen del aeropuerto. Muchos restaurantes cerca, bares y tiendas de Souvenir. Son muy amables en recepción, ofrecen un desayuno básico pero suficiente para iniciar el día (pan, quesos, fruta, jugo, café, yogurt, etc.) La habitación pequeña pero muy cómoda, muy limpia y en excelentes condiciones, que te permiten descansar después de un largo día. Cuenta con un elevador pequeño que te permite subir el equipaje. Nos gustó mucho.

Struttura comoda per la sua vicinanza alla stazione di Roma Termini. Camera arredata con mobili antichi, molto carina ma il problema è stato il bagno e la pulizia generale della stanza. Non era particolarmente pulita, soprattutto il bagno e la tenda della doccia (parliamo di una vasca/doccia) non era adatta poiché in tessuto e piena di macchie gialle. Inoltre, quando siamo entrati nella stanza il condizionatore era spento. Per un weekend toccata e fuga nella Città Eterna può anche andare ma per soggiorni più lunghi non lo consiglio.

After a last seconf cancelation by a different host, I ended up at this property and have a very good expperience. The staff were kind in helping me get my reservation changed over. The room was spotless and cleaned daily. Overall, a great experience!

Nice boutique hotel, with an affordable rate, located about 20 minutes walking time from the Colosseum. Nice and clean room, with a balcony which overlooked a courtyard. Friendly staff and a better-than-expected free breakfast. If I return to Rome I would likely stay here again.

Este es un lugar perfecto para hospedarse, el trato muy amable en recepción, buen desayuno incluido y muy céntrico para visitar todo el centro de Roma.El problema con el hotel es la limpieza, las sabanas no las cambiaron en los 6 días de estancia y la habitación solamente se recogió pero nunca se limpió. Si arreglan este problema seguro que volveremos.

We booked a triple room as this was all that was available at the time. We arrived slightly earlier than allowed check-in time and were asked to sit in reception. They downgraded us to a twin room with no refund or discussion. The room was on the sixth floor and the lift only goes to the fifth floor. It was also next to the lift machinery so the room was very noisy. We were not advised of this or we would have objected. The room wasn't great. The bath panel had a big crack in it and the shower curtain was dirty as it was too long and sat constantly in the bottom of the bath. The shower was unable to maintain a constant temperature, fluctuating between scalding and cold so it was unsafe to stand under it. Housekeeping was terrible. One bed was not changed for the entire week and the other one was only changed after a complaint to reception. Surfaces were not cleaned. Bedspreads were left thrown on the floor or stuffed into the wardrobe, pushing our clothes to the back of the shelf. The housekeeper left numerous items, including used pillow cases in the room. Breakfast was shambolic. The range of food was limited. The space was not big enough. Most days we had to wait for clean crockery or cutlery to be made available. We complained to reception about the downgraded room and poor housekeeping but they didn't seem to care and no improvements were made. Overall the worst hotel we've ever stayed in, we strongly recommend you do not stay here even though the location is good.

Please if you are planning to go to this place you have time to not do it. You will be very dissapointed just entering the neightborhood. This place is more than old, not clean, I did not even want to take a bath because of the condition of the shower, smell really bad, humidity can be seen in walls and roof, the sheets has human hair (not mine) and a lot. I never give nad reviews but I dont want for another person happen the same as me. Very Unsafe the streets around this place!

They control the A/C at the front desk since it’s central air and they set it to 25C, which is too warm to cools down when it’s 40 degrees outside. The thermostat in the room is just for show. Also, regardless of whether your card is in the slot, it automatically shuts off after an hour. After 24hr a of complaining they finally sent a technician to override this auto shut off and it did eventually keep the room somewhat cool. Some of the renovated rooms look ok but we were in a super tiny older room. The shower door was missing one of the sliding door panes so water always splashed on the floor. They also make you leave your room key at the front desk which is annoying. Although the hotel is conveniently close to Termini station, the area around the hotel is kind of seedy. Do yourself a favour and pay a bit more to stay in a better hotel. This hotel sucks.

The breakfast was not good, just sweet pastries, and coffee, nothing great, the room was just ok, the bed very uncomfortable the whole room needs a renovation, housekeeping took the soaps everyday and didn’t replace them , the only good comment is their location close to the train and buses

The expedia photos and the actual room we got were completely different. It seems like there is one upgraded floor and thats what the pictures are from. The hotel was average I would say. It was easy to travel from here to go to the many different tourist locations. Room was small, the beds were a bit hard and the shower lacked water pressure. Staff was helpful.

Great location Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms on 3rd floor old and need updating. Would have been nice to be told rooms on 2nd floor are newer and renovated. I would have booked the 2nd floor.

This room cost $415 a night the room was small, old furniture, the beds sink in middle, the bathroom shower was 2x2 feet, shower head you had to hold to take a shower, AC was hardly working and the key to the room you had to hand in ever time you left. No worth the money.

The hotel was ok at the price. More or less as we expected. However, when we book hotels there are fours important things. Beds, water, toilet and wifi. The wifi was out of order for almost the entire stay. Sometimes things happen, but if you provide a service and cannot deliver I would expect a discount, which was completely out of the question with the message it is not our problem. Not ok

Hotel Contilia in Rome, Italy was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The front desk manager was extremely rude and hostile. I made reservations through hotels.com back in March for two nights, May 11-13. I received a confirmation email at the time of booking and again the day prior to arrival. When we arrived on the 11th I was told my reservation had been cancelled. No explanation. They did, however, have some rooms available at a much higher price. They refused to honor the prices on my booking confirmation. Then they said we had to pay in cash. We were sent to look for an ATM. On the way back to the hotel we found another hotel that had availability at a much better price. When we told Hotel Contilia that we were going to stay elsewhere they refused to give us back our passports and threatened to call the police. I was afraid we would not be able to explain our side of the story to the police because we do not speak Italian. I felt like we were being held hostage. It was a horrible experience. We paid 50% more for two rooms than the price I was given at booking for three rooms. Total scam. Stay clear of this hotel.

After a last seconf cancelation by a different host, I ended up at this property and have a very good expperience. The staff were kind in helping me get my reservation changed over. The room was spotless and cleaned daily. Overall, a great experience!

DO NOT STAY HERE. Prior to arrival, the hotel was paid in full. Upon arrival, the front desk stated that the tourist tax must be paid in cash & card would not work. He instructed my husband to find an ATM & would not allow us to check in until it was paid. After walking to 3 ATMs we were able to find one that was working. Checking in, the staff made a copy of our passports & informed us that EVERY TIME we exited the hotel we must return the room key to the front desk. This seemed a bit strange to us, the staff stated that the key is better left with them. Everytime you would request your key back, the staff would have to reactivate the key for you (sometimes forgetting & you would have to go back downstairs for reactivation). The staff would also act like they are doing you a favor, many times too busy on their phones to greet you while tossing your key back. On the second day of our stay, our room was “cleaned” & only one of two towels were replaced. I asked the front desk staff if we were able to get an additional towel since we only had one towel for two people. The staff member went in the back behind the staircase where the clean towels are stored & stated that she did not have one additional towel to give me & that the towels back there were for tomorrow. We found another hotel & upon leaving I asked for a receipt, however the staff could not find any evidence of my stay, & told me that she could email me a receipt tomorrow. Terrible place, terrible experience.

not so good, the hotel has nice grand furnishings but the rooms are so so. Shower water stays cold or once it gets hot, then it stays hot . But the service was rude and inconsistent. we were forced to pay in cash and we were promised that we. can have something small for breakfast for 7 am due to early checkout. When 7 am came, another person said that no, nothing can be done until breakfast opens at 730.

We were greeted by wonderful staff on arrival. The room had everything we needed and it was quite despite been only two blocks from the train station. Breakfast had all you need for a small meal to start the day. We will return!

Everything was good and Nico was amazing always helping me and answering all my questions and helping me with addresses and how to go around the city. Just the last 2 days the rooms next to me got rented I was and those guest were super loud and the housekeeping always forgetting to leave toilet paper in our room , that I had to go downstairs to the desk to get more. But other than that all good, the hotel was very convenient next to the train station to go to Pisa , Florence , Venice . Not a fancy hotel but clean and good to spend the night just what I needed because I was up and above around the city…

We booked a triple room as this was all that was available at the time. We arrived slightly earlier than allowed check-in time and were asked to sit in reception. They downgraded us to a twin room with no refund or discussion. The room was on the sixth floor and the lift only goes to the fifth floor. It was also next to the lift machinery so the room was very noisy. We were not advised of this or we would have objected. The room wasn't great. The bath panel had a big crack in it and the shower curtain was dirty as it was too long and sat constantly in the bottom of the bath. The shower was unable to maintain a constant temperature, fluctuating between scalding and cold so it was unsafe to stand under it. Housekeeping was terrible. One bed was not changed for the entire week and the other one was only changed after a complaint to reception. Surfaces were not cleaned. Bedspreads were left thrown on the floor or stuffed into the wardrobe, pushing our clothes to the back of the shelf. The housekeeper left numerous items, including used pillow cases in the room. Breakfast was shambolic. The range of food was limited. The space was not big enough. Most days we had to wait for clean crockery or cutlery to be made available. We complained to reception about the downgraded room and poor housekeeping but they didn't seem to care and no improvements were made. Overall the worst hotel we've ever stayed in, we strongly recommend you do not stay here even though the location is good.

If you’re looking for a place that’s affordable and centrally located, this is the place. About a 10 min walk from the Coliseum, 3 min walk from St. Mary Major Basilica, less than 15 min cab ride to the Spanish Seps. If you don’t plan on staying in the room very long and your touring the city all day, this hotel is great for that.

Please if you are planning to go to this place you have time to not do it. You will be very dissapointed just entering the neightborhood. This place is more than old, not clean, I did not even want to take a bath because of the condition of the shower, smell really bad, humidity can be seen in walls and roof, the sheets has human hair (not mine) and a lot. I never give nad reviews but I dont want for another person happen the same as me. Very Unsafe the streets around this place!

Had stayed here previously yet this was a very different experience. We were rushed at breakfast and pushed to move whilst trying to make breakfast. We'd paid for breakfast and were told its from 8-10 yet staff were cleaning up and food wasn't refilled at 9am. Staff atcdesk were reluctant in answering questions so we were reluctant in asking. Wouldn't recommend it again!

We did take the metro which is only couple blocks away to Vatican. Breakfast was well stocked and delicious. I would highly recommend. Only small downside was that the room was close to the elevator and since the construction is mainly concrete and tiles the noise travels. Didn’t bother us much thou…

We are regulars to this Hotel and everything went well through check in, in fact they gave us an upgrade, however when we went for breakfast there were so many visitors there we just took two apples and started to return to our room. I was approached by the manager to return to the front desk where I was told I could not take the 2 apples to our room and had to eat them in the dining room. I was shocked and totally embarrassed by this action in front of other guests, this was done even though I am a longterm customer. The apples were left, we checked out, they came running after us saying they were sorry but the rules were clear all food had to be consumed in the dining room. We were not taking the apples out of the building. So for future guests who will be chosing this hotel, be sure NOT to take any food out beyond the dining room. As for us, we will never retulrn to this hotel again

Loved everything! Amazing and helpful staff that always took time for you. Rooms were cleaned very proficiently and quickly. Breakfast was perfect with a bit of everything. We are traveling around Europe this summer and are talking about coming back to Rome to visit a few more sites and will surely be staying hereagain! So kind and helpful. The staff was 10/10 compared to our other countries. One minute from Saint Mary Major and the hop on and off buses. Green Line tours was our favorite. I love Rome had fewer buses and a longer wait.

We had a room on the top floor with a balcony, it was clean and tidy and looked quite recently decorated, the bed was comfortable and a good night’s sleep was had. Breakfast had a reasonable selection and the hotel is walking distance from the train station and lots of restaurants. Nothing really to complain about overall but it is worth noting that the hotel insisted on cash payments for tourist tax and although it could have been a genuine mistake they tried to overcharge me for a drink from the bar, just something to keep in mind. The staff were not rude, but didn’t seem very happy and sometimes I felt as though I was a bit of a nuisance to them, despite it being hotel policy that you hand your key into the reception each time you go out! Overall I think I would stay here again for the location, clean room and a good nights sleep.
