beautiful hotel/resort - i would suggest they do a better job of communicating - the ski lift was closed the 2 days we were there, apparently their yearly maintenance but no notice was given at time of my reservation - half of the shops/restuauant were closed as well, also without any alert given

This is a beautiful resort. Our room had a great view of the tram and the mountain. We enjoyed time in the pool and large hot tub. We enjoyed time hiking around the lovely hotel grounds. The only negative was that the price of the tram ride was $36 each just to get to the lodge at the top which offered a bar and restaurant but because there was snow on the ground they weren't allowing you to hike around up there at all. We felt the price was very high just for the self serving reason of visiting their own restaurant and so we did not utilize it.

Loved the pool facilities, spaces to walk, gondola. Bar staff and bar service, seating wonderful. Loved the Chacouteri board, went to both. Can’t really rave about the Forte except for the Caesar salad. Room and view wonderful, again staff excellent.

No power to portions of the resort when we were there, so linmited restaurants and no pool/hot tub. Fire alarm went off at 4am because of the power issue I assume.

This is a large resort property in a great location. It should be noted that it is used by cruise ships for before/after stays. The rooms and corridors are in need of renovation. The furniture in our room would not be acceptable for charity donation (it was that beat up & worn). Even the framed art work on walls was beat up. Initial check in at 4pm was delayed by 90 min+. Housekeeping is understaffed. Our room was not serviced while there. Calls to request coffee pods for morning were ignored. Could not find housekeeping staff in am . Luckily There is Kaladi coffee shop on 3rd Fl. Best thing here was Nordic spa with multiple pools, sauna & hot tubs in forest. Purchase pass in advance. Location is good for hiking and visiting glaciers etc. Girdwood is close with some decent dining options. Tram was also available to mountain with nice views of water/ mountains. Could be great property with renovation & better staffing.

Room was sub par for cleanliness. Floor was obviously not cleaned. Food and items from previous guests were still o the floor. Several walls had bodlily fluids on them. Parking was very minimal and lot had very large, deep potholes. Recreational pool and sauna were average. Clean enough to swim in. No lifeguard.

We stayed 4 nights while visiting local areas. Girdwood is a neat little town. The resort was very nice and the staff were ALL super friendly. Our only bummer was that we should have reserved a spot at the spa ahead of time since the slots were all booked up. The tram to the top of the mountain was really neat and the views amazing. The first two nights housekeeping was amazing but they didn't clean our room the third night which was a little disappointing but I guess they were short staffed. We walked several of the nearby trails which were nice and overall the resort was nice.

We weren't entirely convinced that our room had been cleaned prior to our visit. The beds were made, and there were no personal belongings scattered about, however, there were pebbles all over the room. The carpet was quite moist. There was a sticky spill on the carpet by the window. There were a few black flakes on the bedding of one of the beds. The ice bucket had caked on food all over the inside of the lid. The phone had something on it that appeared to be a large booger. The toilet tank appeared to be leaking. The sheets on the bed felt slightly moist all over. Staff was not very remorseful when presented with these issues.

Was not impressed with the rooms. Paid over $300/night to be in an unrenovated room with heavily stained carpets and outdated decor/furniture. Ended up having to upgrade for an extra $50/night to get something renovated that didn’t smell. Even the renovated room was still tight. Separating doors touched the bed, door to the bathroom made it tight to get in and out and bathtub was too deep making it almost dangerous to get in and out. Not a great renovation but definitely more comfortable. Food onsite was good but expensive. None of the pizza was worth the price. Enjoyed the sushi restaurant best and the pool. Jacuzzi only worked one of the nights we were there. Overall not really a luxury experience for the price of the rooms.

The room was not cleaned well. Many areas of carpet very dirty and not vacuumed The sofa bed still had dirty linen as the bed was not made. The bathroom was also not cleaned well. Room service seemed upset that they had to bring us another set of utensils that was forgotten by them. Just an over all disappointment.

The location and grounds are stunning. Great hiking and biking trails right from the resort. Also several great restaurants on site. A great spot for launching exploration of southeast Alaska. However, the rooms themselves leave a bit to be desired. Our room decor was dated and dingy. We booked a suite that said it was for 5 people; there was a bed and a pull out couch ( not sure how you would sleep 5). Plus the TV didn’t work and we had issues with lack of hot water in the shower. Overall, I enjoyed the stay but I do think it was a little overpriced for the level of accommodations.

We stayed in a recently refurbished room and were very comfortable. Great view of the mountain. Shuttle from the Coastal Classic train to the hotel worked very well. We enjoyed a casual meal in aBar as well as a tasty brunch in the Tramline Cafe. My husband found the Nordic Spa to be excellent. The restaurant at the top of the tram had wonderful views but was pricey. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

The hotels grounds, restaurants, and lobby are beautiful and stunning. But, the rooms are terrible. Old, dated, musky, just totally busted. Carpet is so dirty, we didn't want to walk barefoot. They need to re-do these rooms! They should be ashamed to charge upwards of $700 dollars for hotel rooms straight out of 1998. It's sad bc the actual hotel facility is so nice. Nordic spa is a must!

Common areas of the hotel (lobby) are luxe; the setting is exquisite and stunning. Feels quiet and exotic. On resort dining options are good For the price, rooms could use some updating; bathrooms are dated and small. My room at this stay had peeling wallpaper and a blue paint stain on the ceiling. Room service never answered and long line for checkin-so understaffed, as many places. Will of course stay again as it’s one of a kind but you’re paying for the location—both Alaska (could pay similar for a chain Hyatt in Anchorage)—and the beautiful setting in Girdwood

Always relaxing but for this price point one would expect decent cable tv, at least a smart tv for streaming. No way to control the temperature of the room. Always 68° with the forced air blowing.

Nice hotel with great views and amenities! Only caveat is that you have no control of room temperature. Need to tell staff what temperature to set per day during your stay. We had a couple of days of 40s degree weather in May. We asked front desk for heating mode. Second night the room had cooling with cold air blowing on high. Front desk was unapologetic.

We had a problem with arriving 04/13/2025. At four PM, the room was not ready. Later a first room was given but when coming in, it has not been cleaned. A second room was attributed but it was the same. Then a third room was given and it was update. This courtesy has been appreciated by my wife and me. Except that incident the stay in this hotel was perfect.

The WORST SERVICE we’ve EVER had at a hotel! Very long line to check in with only one person to check in a long line of guests at peak check in time of 4pm. It took 25 minutes! The concierge sat there watching the long line and did nothing. Couldn’t come to greet us, offer water, help out her colleague. I asked if she could help her colleague because our kids were tired. Said there was nothing she could do. While we were in line, a lady I later learned was Lolatia walked out, picked up something from the counter and walked back out and she was checking people out the next day, so she could have helped but did not. Only one male checked in everyone (didnt get his name). He was kind to us when we eventually got to the front, but it appeared no one else working was willing to help out. No one picks up the phone. We had a maintenance issue and had to call several times before housekeeping picked up. We called room service to order food and it went to voice mail. We called back and someone picked up but asked to call us back in 5 minutes. At checkout, needed change to tip valet, asked Lolatia from the previous day to help us with change. She said she had no change. We walked over to her colleague checking in people beside her and he helped us. Valet brought our car around, but didn’t help with loading our bags. We loaded all the bags ourselves while valet watched. This place needs NEW management and a SERVICE OVERHAUL!!!! Seven Glacier restaurant was the only bright spot

Alyeska is a beautiful property, and we loved our spa and dining experiences. Sadly, checking in was dreadful. Our room was not available at check-in in time, the stressed-out desk staff promised to text us when our room was ready, but didn’t. The room was not available until two hours after checking in. The people who assisted us with our luggage were friendly and helpful and the sushi bar chef was great. But come on, two hours late?

I live fairly close by and needed to get away for the night. Could not have been happier with my overall experience. Guest service was exceptional, each member of staff I interacted with were cordial, friendly, and professional. I’d like to recognize Trent at the front desk, overall demeanor was pleasant and personable, gave me a wealth of knowledge about the history of the property, and was a real joy to speak with. He is a consummate professional and an excellent steward of guest service. The room was spectacular. I had a lovely stay and plan on retuning again.

Summer service was not as exemplary as winter. The resort could have been better. It treated us more like a holiday inn than a resort. There was an order of fish in the hall, it was under construction, calls for assistance from the front desk went unanswered or delayed to the point of cancellation. At check out we lugged our own bags in separate trips after waiting an hour without any help… cancelling our call after the first trip to the car. Wonderfully beautiful place to stay. We have stayed there many times. On the pricey side but well worth it. My overall rating would have been higher but after spending the day before in the hospital and arriving very late in the evening the morning staff could not find it within their limits to allow a noon checkout instead of 11am. Seriously Alyeska, a good way to leave a sour taste on an otherwise wonderful stay.

Room service was fast but food was awful. Front desk refused a late check out but then agreed to let us pay $50 for a 2pm checkout or $125 for a 4pm. First time I’ve ever had a hotel charge for a late check out. When I reluctantly agreed to it (given we had a red eye flight out) they then informed me I couldn’t after all. After paying $500 for a standard room. Won’t be going back here anytime soon.

It took 15-20 minutes for anyone to bring me coffee or even notice me. They do have a shuttle that goes into Girdwood and drops you off at local spots to eat or shop. Only stayed here one night.

The hotel was excellent. The rooms were clean. The view of the mountain from room was beautiful. The location was central to where we wanted to visit. The route is scenic on the way to the hotel and down to Seward. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Very nice hotel. We only stayed one night on our way to Seward. Also we wanted to take the tram up to the top which we did on a beautiful clear day and got a great view of Turnagain Arm and the town below. If we are ever in Girdwood again would definitely return.

The location is absolutely amazing. We had no idea what to expect but the setting and Gurdwood setting was just beyond our expectations. If we come back to Alaska we to stay longer than three days.

Overall an excellent stay. The location was very nice. Nordic spa was great but did have several features unavailable during our stay. Dinner at Seven Glaciers was superb. Dinner at Sakura was good. Food at Forte was not terrible but would not go back again. Disappointed only one of the Veilbreaker bridges was open due to snow on 2nd bridge area but really thrilling to do the open one. Highlight of the stay was the couples massage!

We had a great one night stay. So much to do on the property- we took the tram to the top- had some drinks and lunch at the top and took several great hikes. The rooms were large and comfortable. We had an amazing dinner at the sushi restaurant and wonderful cocktails at the bar. We would definitely recommend.

It was 5-star...except for its Seven Glaciers restaurant. We felt the multi-course chef's select menu was significantly over-priced and not particularly appetizing. We were expecting a typical restaurant menu.

Beautiful resort and very friendly and caring staff! We’ve received a complementary room upgrade. Thank you!!!! The Cleaning staff was wonderful and the hotel manager Bassie rocks! The restaurants are just ok… with the exception of Sakura. Ask for Megan! She is so happy, friendly, and very informative. You will learn a lot about the local life realities and she will suggest the best dishes. We shall return …. In the summer :)

It was a nice resort. I absolutely recommend booking time at the spa. The hotel is functional yet needs a good remodel in some areas. Especially the beds; they were extremely uncomfortable. The room was very warm; it was a summer visit. I do not believe they have AC. They do provide a fan, so this may not be a deal breaker. Otherwise, a good visit.
