I had to attend my father's funeral so I reserved a room at Hampton as well as Holiday Inn in Selma, Alabama but chose to stay with Hampton because of the indoor pool and the price was a little cheaper. Over all my stay was amazingly comfortable and the staff was pleasantly nice. I gave the score of a 4 because there was a few hiccups such as the staff turned the water off to my room with no warning, however the manager explained to me what was going on and compensated me.

Great on the basics: clean bed, hot shower, clean room. Better than average breakfast. Quiet. Good green space for walking the dog, pet waste bags provided. Old carpet made the halls and room smell musty. The pool was closed, a HUGE bummer when traveling with road-weary kids.

It was my first time in Selma. I booked this hotel weeks in advance. First the hotel was in the middle of a renovation. The sounds of drills, saws, hammers etc. I couldn’t sleep as they started working at 6am. There was debris right outside my room door. Second the pool didn’t work. Third the workers was doing electrical work and shut off the power to my room in the middle of the night, it got unpleasant with the air conditioning not operating. This was not a good experience for my family.

The property was very organized and safe. The room was nice and clean. The breakfast was amazing along with the staff. The only downfall at this particular time is that the pool area was not available due to ongoing renovations which was okay because the atmosphere of the room was very relaxing. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone that is visting the area.

This Hampton Inn is in serious need of upgrades and modernization. I've stayed at other Hampton Inns recently and they were all more ul to date than this location. If you're going to charge modern prices you should provide modern amenities.

I booked a room with sofabed was told it was not available essentially I overpaid and got a room with a jacuzzi tub which turned on during the middle of the night. The A/C unit was loud. The sheets were stained so I had to change myself as housekeeping was gone for the day and there were no towels. Overall a terrible experience. The only saving grace was the breakfast and friendly staff.

The staff were very friendly, my hotel room the dead boat lock would not lock maintenance could not fix it, the carpet in my room was dirty. There was food crumbs, broken fingernails on the floor. Don’t know when it was last vacuumed. The air conditioning heating system was loud. Overall, OK stay some things need to be approved upon.

Extremely helpful staff, we were greeted and helped immediately upon our arrival by a very polite and professional staff member. The room was very clean and neat. As we passed the front desk, headed out to grab dinner, they asked if the room was ok, and if we need anything or if they could assist us with anything else. The next morning the breakfast area was clean, neat, very organized, and the food was amazing. 10/10

I didn't like the fact that the room didn't have an ironing board, and that people was smoking weed outside my room and it was coming through the vent giving me a serious headache... plus the beds could have been a little softer, and one more sitting chair in the room other than that the stay was good.
