Our first night was fine, ish. Check in took a long time because the people at the front desk were confused by a hotels.com booking and couldn’t figure out how to do a hold, (we paid in full prior to staying), that night someone was trying to use a key to come in our room, and the tv changed to be someone else’s name. Nothing really happened with this but it’s important later. second day we go do activities in Tempe. When my daughter and I arrived back at the hotel for her to take a nap, we couldn’t get into our room. Housekeeping came down the hall and told me I need to go to the front desk to “verify my identity”. I said I’m not sure what I’ll be able to verify as my husband is the one who booked it and checked in, but I went down there anyway. The front desk (his name is Tony and he was very rude) told me I could “come back later” to regain access to my room. um no? I’ve already paid for the room, checked in and been here, and all our stuff is in there. This proceeded to happen every single day of our 5 day 4 night stay. It was a giant pain, and the front desk people were not kind about it when it was THEIR MISTAKE. Continuing to give us 24 hour keys and I’m not sure why. They seemed truly incompetent. They booked multiple people into the same room, housekeeper said and I quote “they made a big mistake”. They offered nothing to mend the situation that they caused. We stay in Marriott hotels every time we travel (which is frequently) and I will NEVER stay here again.
