One of the two elevators wasn't working for the first couple of nights. The second elevator then broke while the first one sat inoperable so my elderly mom had to take the stairs to the 7th floor.

So many things wrong with this property, it’s so weird. You can obviously tell they are trying to be quirky, but there are so many ridiculous things about this location. 1. Parking is not included and is expensive. 2. Parking is not convenient to the main entrance. 3. The restaurant/bar has awful operation hours. 4. “No more hot breakfast for 3-4 months” is what we were told??? It’s graduation weekend. 5. Bar to pool gates are always locked… um, why would a place trying to make money not encourage you to be able to eat and drink out by the pool? 6. Hallways are not air conditioned, which is so weird. 7. Pool is FREEZING cold. How do they even do that in Tempe? 8. Shower head is on opposite side of shower from the shower controls- seriously! 9. Balcony/patio only have 1 chair- LOL!! 10. Bar staff needs serious customer service training.

I realize they have to have periods of maintenance but the kitchen was down so no breakfast, the gym was closed for repairs and no hot water after 11am as the boiler was being fixed. Decor was tired. Whole place felt old and in need of an upgrade.

Checking in and getting to know the area was seamless. Staff were willing to share info about Tempe and things to do in the area. Rooms were clean and up to spec with no complaints. Workout room having a peloton was a major bonus! The bar was cool, though I wished it stayed open one more hour in the evening. Walking distance to CVS and mill ave as well as other restaurants in the area.

The hotel was well-maintained. There was always someone cleaning, polishing or vacuuming. A really caring friendly staff was always at the front desk. The restaurant served a delicious hamburger ! It was a good three night stay for me and I will be back. I highly recommend the graduate in Tempe AZ

Hotel was ok. Bathroom was old and dirty. Tile was unacceptably gross. Carpet in room was old gross and wrinkled. My shower failed this morning as I was running out the door. No cold water so it was basically no pressure of scalding hot water. Could not shower before my business meeting today will not be back to this property.

I had a wonderful stay. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to help. The hotel is in a fantastic location, close to everything I needed. Plus, the coffee from the bar in the morning was a perfect way to start the day!

Room was dirty, sunflower seeds on the floor from prior guest. Hair in the shower. No body wash or extra toilet paper. The instant coffee was horrible in room. Oregon location was great... Never again here.

Our bathroom was a bit missed in places when cleaned the last time- someone else’s hair was on the sink and there was a smudge on the door that I cleaned. The shower gel was empty and the shower seemed also missed in cleaning. Otherwise- it was good.

This hotel is extremely dated. I was given a room where the bathroom had not been cleaned from the last guests. Used soap, dirty towels, garbage overflowing, etc. They did move to me another room which was cleaner. The air conditioner blows directly on you while in bed, the plug on lamp does not work to charge your phone, and the carpets are filthy. Definitely skip this one.

Property was fine if not a bit dated. Housekeeping only made up room once out of three mornings and didn't put the sheets on correctly. The fitted sheet either was too small or turned the wrong direction. I kept waking up due to it.

Be prepared to be nickeled and dimed to death. We showed up slightly early, they will let you in early if your room is available - for a fee. Parking is available - for a fee. Sure they will give you a water when their housekeeping forgets to stock the fridge when they clean - for a fee. While many of the male front desk staff were incredibly friendly and the staff did an amazing job of receiving a package for me in advance of our stay, the younger female at the front desk was cold and not helpful. WiFi was spotty. Worked sometimes, not others. Had to use the hot spot on my phone to get work done. Train going by outside created noise, but nothing they could have done about that. All-in-all it's not like I wouldn't stay with them again, I just feel like they could have tried harder and not nickel and dimed us to death when they are an old hotel that has had some trendy mid century artwork installed and a coat of pink paint.

I booked my family's stay here for a graduation at ASU, expecting it to be comparable to other Graduate locations I've stayed at, and that was unfortunately not the case. I wish I had chosen another option that would have cost less but was happy to pay a higher price in hopes it would align with my previous experiences. While the staff and service were all friendly and great, the property leaves much to be desired. It seems that the former building was dressed up, with some nice furnishings and the like but still retains some features and a lack of detail that doesn't match what I've come to expect from Graduate hotels. The walls and elevator seem beaten up and painted over, but not enough to cancel their age or wear. They kept the former light as air dooes that feel flimsy when you open and close them. The seams on the wallpaper in the restroom are evident and visible and in some cases even cracked. The AC unit in the room worked but could never seem to get the room to an ideal cool temperature. The on site bar area service was good but again appeared worn down. If you're looking to for a more boutique like hotel experience near ASU I'd look elsewhere until more improvements are made.

I really dislike leaving bad reviews, but I have to. This hotel felt like a glorified Motel 6. The room smelled musty and almost like minor water damage. Pictures are not very accurate. The "view" room we had on the 4th floor overlooked some backyards. There are 2 light fixtures on the mirror that are for show only. Had to pay an additional $15 just to park in the parking lot. And wifi was terrible. Will not waste my money here again.

I have stayed at two other Graduate locations and like those staff was wonderful and out going and the vibe was fun and relaxed. However, this is an older property that appears to have been re-fabbed to become a Graduate. I expected a lot and I found pealing paint and wall paper throughout the facility. It was still a great time, and was very child friendly for my little. But was a little less put together than I am used to with this brand.

Front desk people very courteous. Unfortunately, our room faced the street which was very loud hearing cars, trolly until late. Then every time the room above used a shower our room sounded like a jack hammer. Early in the morning waking us up and late in the evening. To our knowledge, no one ever came to check on it.

The stay was a good one overall. The problem we experienced was to do with the plumbing (I believe). When hot water was turned on in the shower, a VERY LOUD, knocking/large farm equipment turning on in our room. We experienced this noise twice. Once when we used the shower in the afternoon. Then again at 6:00am when someone else must have turned on the water in a room above us and the noise was so loud and woke the whole family. Thank goodness we had experienced it already so we remembered the sound (eventually, after the shock of being woken in such a loud/scary manner) and knew what it was. I hope this feedback is helpful and you are able to resolve the problem for continued success of your hotel!

Arrival was very good; friendly staffer. Helped with scanning system for parking. Room was nice and cool when returning late in evening. AC is right next to bed and blowing on person sleeping on that side and making things uncomfortable cold and noisy. AC controller at wall did not have instruction on how to adjust fan speed. Door to controls on unit itself did not open. The unit was kicking on/off every minute with frequent changes in fan speed. This meant, once you were used to noise level, it changed and the our nervous system had to adjust to a different condition. Very aggravating. After about 2 hours of trying to deal with it, I shut the entire unit off only to wake up very hot due to Arizona heat. I had to turn the unit on again and proceeded to build a wall between myself and that AC unit. Fitful sleep and aggravation and some anxiety-induced chest pain made for a bad night. I took pictures in the morning. My total sleep duration I estimate at 3 hrs. No fun. Positive: I talked to the desk person in the morning and informed him of the issue. He promised to take care it and talked to his manager. He called me at 13:33h today to inform me that his manager agreed to reverse the room charges.

Be prepared to be nickeled and dimed to death. We showed up slightly early, they will let you in early if your room is available - for a fee. Parking is available - for a fee. Sure they will give you a water when their housekeeping forgets to stock the fridge when they clean - for a fee. While many of the male front desk staff were incredibly friendly and the staff did an amazing job of receiving a package for me in advance of our stay, the younger female at the front desk was cold and not helpful. WiFi was spotty. Worked sometimes, not others. Had to use the hot spot on my phone to get work done. Train going by outside created noise, but nothing they could have done about that. All-in-all it's not like I wouldn't stay with them again, I just feel like they could have tried harder and not nickel and dimed us to death when they are an old hotel that has had some trendy mid century artwork installed and a coat of pink paint.

My sister, my mom and I stayed here for her wedding dress shopping weekend and what started out as a bumpy checkin experience ended in a wonderful stay. The lobby and first floor was cute and fun! Decompressing with two of her bridesmaids after a day of shopping we were welcomed at the restaurant with warmth. The hotel room was clean and stocked with extra towels as well. But the best part of the stay was the management team checking on us after feedback was given from our check in. Esther was apologetic and so very kind. I will definitely recommend The Graduate Tempe to friends and if I'm staying in the area again, this will be my hotel of choice. Thank you!

I had a wonderful stay. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to help. The hotel is in a fantastic location, close to everything I needed. Plus, the coffee from the bar in the morning was a perfect way to start the day!

Checking in and getting to know the area was seamless. Staff were willing to share info about Tempe and things to do in the area. Rooms were clean and up to spec with no complaints. Workout room having a peloton was a major bonus! The bar was cool, though I wished it stayed open one more hour in the evening. Walking distance to CVS and mill ave as well as other restaurants in the area.

This is one of the best hotels to stay at in Phoenix. I stayed here every single weekend the month of May and I have to give a huge shout out to Mario at the front desk. I was so happy to see him every weekend as I knew I would get exceptional service each and every time. Mario went above and beyond every weekend with my check ins and checking out, all requests were immediately taken care of with such a positive attitude and his welcoming aura was just as appreciated as much as the hotel itself. Anytime I get a chance to stay at a hotel, it'll always be this one by choice due to the amenities, room size with balconies, great wifi and amazing staff! Not one complaint and I've stayed here on plenty occasions! THANK YOU SO MUCH MARIO!

❤️ to “ It's a cute little RETRO boutique hotel. Rooms are tiny. Bed is good. Great towels!! We had breakfast and a late evening burger at their restaurant…DELICIOUS! Not a lot of menu choices but what we ate delicious. Parking is great. Nice pool. Three blocks our ultimate destination so convenient. Overpriced (not to bad) but they all are! Nice staff!!! All students it seemed. Great young people! We would stay again. ”

The stay was nice, staff very friendly, bed amazingly comfortable. My only negative comment is the coffee. I don't think I have every stayed in a hotel that did not have a pot of coffee in the lobby for guests. I understand there were coffee bags in the room, but they are very muddy tasting, did the trick for the morning cup, but I really enjoy a nice cup of coffee in the morning. Two out of the three mornings I was in line 10 to almost 15 minutes for just a cup of coffee and it was very frustrating. I suggest you look into a way to serve the guest that only want a cup of coffee a little quicker. Thank you.

So many things wrong with this property, it’s so weird. You can obviously tell they are trying to be quirky, but there are so many ridiculous things about this location. 1. Parking is not included and is expensive. 2. Parking is not convenient to the main entrance. 3. The restaurant/bar has awful operation hours. 4. “No more hot breakfast for 3-4 months” is what we were told??? It’s graduation weekend. 5. Bar to pool gates are always locked… um, why would a place trying to make money not encourage you to be able to eat and drink out by the pool? 6. Hallways are not air conditioned, which is so weird. 7. Pool is FREEZING cold. How do they even do that in Tempe? 8. Shower head is on opposite side of shower from the shower controls- seriously! 9. Balcony/patio only have 1 chair- LOL!! 10. Bar staff needs serious customer service training.

I realize they have to have periods of maintenance but the kitchen was down so no breakfast, the gym was closed for repairs and no hot water after 11am as the boiler was being fixed. Decor was tired. Whole place felt old and in need of an upgrade.

Graduate was the perfect hotel for our campus visit to ASU. It’s got cool retro style, friendly staff and a convenient little restaurant. We were able to walk to campus and there is ample parking in an easy access lot for when we needed our car. Also, Graduate has a distinct “Newstalgia” fragrance in the lobby that’s smells peaceful and wonderful. We bought a candle at the desk so we could take the scent home with us.
