Ramada by Wyndham Arcata

The room was clean, BUT walking barefoot on the floor did not feel clean. The bathroom sink faucet had white residue where it met the counter. The bathtub sink had mildew stains and needs to be dug out and replaced after cleaning with bleach. One of the chairs was badly worn on the wood parts and should either refinished or replaced. A trash can outside near the door was full and trash piled up around a cardboard box besside it. This was not cleaned up in the three days we were there. The breakfast options were very good and relatively fresh. The attendant there needs to clean up spills around the juice and waffle batter dispensers more frequently. More tables and chairs for patrons would be good but interior space is limited; perhaps an extension or outdoor area with a couple of tables would suffice.

This location is a great place if you just need a pretty clean place to stay for a night or two. The employees are friendly and offer great service. The Nordic bike in the gym didn’t connect to the WiFi and the the water dispenser didn’t work.

We stayed 4 nights here to visit family and see redwoods, beaches, and Fern Canyon. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Thank you! The fitness room, although small, had great equipment, I used it 3 times. The courtyard to lounge on sunny days is looking a bit tired. The chairs are old, not many pads, not like the photos in the ads show. It was still a quiet area to read a book. Our room had a comfy bed and was quiet enough to sleep well. The included breakfast had reasonable choices and the staff looking after it hustled and kept everything ready for patrons.

We got an upstairs room and found that there is no elevator to help with luggage. For us that wasn’t a big problem, but it might be for some people so I wanted to mention it. There was an indoor staircase and an exterior staircase as well. The room was nice enough and beds were comfortable, and they offered a warm breakfast with eggs, sausage links, and waffles plus a couple options for cereal and muffins.

At checkin, the lady at front desk was hard to understand due to all the facial rings. Room had an unusual smell. Sheets on the bed were not the correct size as they came off the mattress when turning over. Amenities that were listed on the website were not there, ie. seasonal swimming pool, hot tub, restaurant. We were expecting a nice stay due to Ramada brand, but what we got was definitely overpriced for what we received. Would not recommend or stay there again.

Gates are closed to secure area and cameras active

The property was advertised as being in Eureka but it’s about a 20 minute drive to get there. It’s convenient if you’re visiting redwoods but there isn’t much going on. Also there is no elevator.

Nicely located right off of the 101 north of Arcata. Parking is fenced and gated around the facility, increasing the security of this location. The price was very reasonable and the room and grounds were extremely clean. Check in staff we're very helpful in accommodating our needs. When in Arcata, we will stay here again!

Hard to get to other wing where our family members were staying, but otherwise very nice. Loved the back patio, but wish there had been a pool there. Breakfast good; coffee great!

We have stayed here many times. It is always clean. The staff are nice. Beds comfortable.

Outside doors open to public. No elevator. Tub caulking was moldy. Tub hot/cold controls were not marked. Room lighting was dark. Breakfast: No orange juice. Hot items were unrecognizable. No butter found for toasted items. Guest female bathroom in lobby didn’t have enough water flow to rinse hands in timely manner. First room issued, toilet seat broke in half. No one at front desk when we arrived. Waited for over 5 minutes along with other potential patrons. Thank you for handicapped bar in shower stall. Location was very easy to find.

Hotel is very old. Floor dirty. Microwave is at least 40 years old. Air conditioning can not be adjusted, so it does not stop the whole night. Places to eat around were closed very early.

The room was terribly dirty! No joke! We paid $212 for one night, we should at least get a clean room. Bad experience and wouldn’t do it again.

Unfortunately, I received very bad service. THE ONLY THING THAT WAS REALLY CLEAN WAS THE BATHROOM. Everything was very old and dirty. They never changed the sheets, pillowcases, or blanket in the days I stayed there. The only thing they changed were the bath towels. The blanket was stained and had other people's hair on it. NOTHING THEY OFFER ONLINE IS REAL. AS I SAID, EVERYTHING IS OLD AND DIRTY. IN ADDITION, THEY CHARGED ME FOR THE $100 DEPOSIT THAT ONE LEAVES WHEN CHECK IN

- Dirty room. -Stains on sheets -Furniture was dusty -Paint in bathrooms chipped -Wiped down surfaces and found grime -Furniture missing pieces ( headboards missing pieces of accent wood ) , just broken off . -Not enough electrical outlets - Cracked mirror frame in bathroom , secured to wall in unsafe fashion . - Old bottle opener on bathroom wall , painted over . - Hair drier on wall dusty and grimy -The entire room looked like it was furnished with old hotels’ discorded furnishings . - Free access to rooms from street , no access key required - Gate at parking broken , door hanging off - Stained bathtub and grimy water faucet.

Sand between the sheets. Furnishings and fixtures very worn. Hall carpeting badly stained: they wisely traded carpeting for vinyl flooring in the room. Ventilation works. Tiny breakfast area with the usual uninspiring items. Toni's, the diner next door, is great.

The room was very clean, the service was great, my bed was comfortable; I am in town visiting a friend in the hospital and needed a clean, good place to stay. This fit the bill. The parking lot within a fence is secure and the area is a good one. Would stay here again.

The first room we checked into had black mold in the fridge. We asked if we could move to a downstairs room and the staff was accommodating. The second room was clean but did have a few issues - a leaking fridge, a bath tub that doesn’t hold water and continually drains. Due to booking on Expedia, staff was unable to extend my stay on their computer. I had to rebook myself and they required I pay the $100 deposit twice. That could be improved. We really appreciated the staff members we interacted with, all friendly and helpful excluding the manager. We appreciated the continental breakfast and the hotels close proximity to gas, restaurants, and a grocery store.

We've stayed here before, and the external paint job was an improvement, and the rooms are comfortable, but the place really needs a facelift. Wood is coming off the furniture, the windows are old, the heater is ancient altho functional, the shower curtain had holes, and the tub was worn.

Couple upstairs stomping around and arguing all night walls are paper thin so luck of the draw who your neighbors will be. I recommend requesting an upstairs room.

The stay was comfortable. The only issue that we did have, and we did informe the staff, was that the mini fridge did not work. We lost some really delicious leftover Mexican food and had warm drinks. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

The room was fine and the bed very comfortable. However there were several glitches: the remote needed new batteries, the toilet ran intermittently, the hot water took a long time to get warm, there was no hair dryer.

The tv remotes did not work, the front desk was called with a quick response time. Ended up being dead batteries which was fixed right away. The next morning when trying to get a shower I let the water run for over 8 minutes and never did get any hot water, however the bathtub did fill up. Try washing your hair over the little bathroom sink with a paper cup, not fun!

Great location, and definitely affordable compared to other options. The room was clean and everything we needed for hiking Redwood National Park. The only downside is that the walls are paper thin. We could hear pretty much everything from every room near us and it was extremely loud every single time a door closed.

Good location and has restaurants nearby with one being open 24 hours. Room was nice but the floor was not carpet and didn't seem to have been swept and mopped well or at least regularly. I could feel more than a reasonable amount of dirt everywhere when walking. The Heater and AC were on a push button system and couldn't be set for automatic temperature to regulate. The Heater didn't work correctly and would only blow Heat when it was at the highest setting and anything below that would blow cool so multiple times during the night I had to get up and turn it from high to a lower setting so it wasn't sweltering. When it got to be to much Heat and I did turn the AC on it was loud and annoying. Breakfast was alright but wasn't what I expected. Eggs appeared to be powdered and sausage appeared more white than brown so I didn't eat them. Waffle was good. Only juice was grape but had an odd taste. The staff was nice. The night lady was conversational and friendly. When I walked in reception that morning, I don't recall the morning lady saying hello before immediately saying she needed my name and room number for breakfast. I was headed to the restroom first and I informed her of that and when I returned I would provide it. She wasn't rude just automatic. She was nice, friendly and understanding when I was checking out and mentioned my issues with the Heater and AC issue, I know she wasn't able to do anything to assist after the fact except say she would get the issues looked at.

Having no carpet in the rooms made it very loud when people in other rooms either were talking or walking. I have stayed in Ramada hotels before and not had the noise like this one.

We had a late check in and staff was friendly and helpful. We asked what was close by for food options and they even looked up the closing hours for us. Room was clean and comfortable. Definitely will stay again.

The employee working at reception lacked customer service skills. When we arrived around 5 pm, she told us our room wasn't ready and we should wait - no further information. There was someone else already in the lobby waiting for a room. While we were sitting there, another employee came in complaining loudly about how there was no one to clean the rooms and he'd be working all night. A customer also came in because his TV in his room wasn't working. The front desk employee told him that she didn't know anything about TV's and suggested he check all the plugs (no offer of help.) He gave up and walked out. We waited and ended up getting into our room about 30-45 minutes later. Not terrible as far as a wait goes. When we got into our room, there were three hand towels and washcloths, but only one bath towel. We had 4 people. We requested three more bath towels from the front desk and they never came. My husband finally went down around 8 and asked at the front desk if he could just pick up the towels. The same employee said she only had 2 towels. He told her he would take what she had. The pillows in the room were small, almost square shaped, and there were exactly 4 of them (at least one for each of us.) There were no extra pillows or blankets and we honestly didn't want to try to find anymore downstairs at the front desk, so we just worked with what we had. We weren't impressed. Luckily, we were only there for one night. We won't be staying there again.

We had called this property prior to booking and asked about the amenities they offered, they told us they had a bbq we could use, so we decided to book with other family members and purchase over $150 worth of food to cook there, once getting there we found out the bbq is unusable, even though we had called and asked about this the same day prior to booking. Tried talking to the front desk lady, who was incredibly rude and kept walking away and wouldn’t even help us or communicate with us just told us the manager would be in the next day at 9-10 am. So all of the food we purchased spoiled and was wasted. The next morning after checking out at 10am we went down to speak with the manager we were told would be there, a now different front desk women was there and said the manager was gone getting breakfast, and that we would have to wait she’s not sure when he would be back, even tho he knew we were coming to talk to him at 10 because he was informed the night before about it. The women at the front then proceeded to call the general manager and he refused to speak with us and said he would be there in 10 minutes. We waiting for over 30 minutes and he never showed us and we had all of our children waiting in the car because at this point it was past check out time and we had to leave. Still have not received a phone call even though they said they had our contact info and would be reaching out to us. I would rate this place 0 stars if I could. This property is awful.

We stayed there three nights. The second day we were there, when we arrived Bach to our room our room was made up but the towels were in a bag hanging on the door knob outside our room. The third day we arrived at our room at 7 pm, our room was not made up. The room was just as we left it in the morning. I called the front desk. I let the phone ring at least 15 times, no answer. I walked to the front desk, the young lady was in the phone. I heard her say to the person on the phone that she had to go. She was on a personal call. I told her that our room was not made up and there are no clean toilets. She said that house keeping had left for the day, she would have towels sent to our room in the morning. All three of us had been working at the family farm and we want to take a shower now. She went to the laundry and got us two bath towels and two hand towels. I let the person at the front desk know of our dissatisfaction, and the circumstances at the time we checked out. No apologies no compensation was offered. The person checking out before us had the same thing happen to them. Room not made up, no clean toilet. Looks like a normal thing.

Very friendy and welcoming front desk. Super clean room in great condition. These rooms could easily go for more than they are currently charging. Stayed at 7 different similarly priced hotel rooms on a two week road trip and this was definitely the best in every way. Will stay again when in the area.

Breakfast options were sufficient. I requested extra towels and pillows. The receptionist was running the desk solo, and couldn't get them immediately. Someone apparently dropped the ball, as the towels and pillows never arrived. Gym was smaller than expected, but acceptable. Had some difficulty with programming the Nordic Trac equipment. Both seemed to be frozen. I was able to reboot the bicycle and get it working, but I could not get the treadmill to work. I didn't bother calling the lobby, as it wasn't that important. Also, the gym's water dispenser was apparently out of water.

Complementary breakfast is a nice variety of make your own waffles! Coffee is good. Something for everyone.Close to where you want to be!

The desk employee, Victoria, was exemplary. She worked to get our room ready earlier than check in time. We really appreciated that. She was friendly, efficient, and compassionate.

I liked the location of the property to the highway and nearby restaurant.

It was a great location for us since we were dropping my son off to Humboldt. Staff is really nice and accommodating. Rooms are spacious and clean. Parking lot is small a bit weird layout but good enough.

Stay here when we don’t go camping. Convenient to parks & beach.

Restaurants nextdoor, transit line not far away. Easy freeway access but no freeway noise.

Good quiet area clise to the college

Nothing much to do around this property but convenient if your just staying for a night. Don’t forget to try Toni’s restaurant which is walking distance. Friendly staff and good food!

The room was fine but the area around the hotel was a bit sketchy. We walked down the street a couple blocks to a restaurant and several homeless people were living in their cars by it. They had a nice patio area but it desperately needs some repairs. The breakfast was fine but there isn't much seating.

The property was older and needs some updating.Pressure washing of sidewalks and weeding of la dacaping. The room was clean as well as the beds. The tub could not be used for a bath. Staff was very friendly. The hot breakfast could use more variety. We were there 3 nights and it was the same every day. The eggs seemed to be made from powdered eggs. Sausage did not look fesh.

We were using the hotel as a hub for a high school student event. The breakfast was filling with a good variety and fresh food. The coffee was bad, but everything else was good. The rooms are clean and have indoor hallways, which is great for safety. The hotel is a little old but has been updated. It is very comfortable.

There is a slop sink in the breakfast room. There was trash piled up and a dirty mop bucket. Kind of gross

Just a one night stay as part of a road trip. Hotel is tired, was clean but could benefit from an update. Breakfast was just ok. Tenge breakfast room was small and cramped. Food options were basic.

Basic, but had everything we needed. Was pretty quiet too which was nice. Breakfast was pretty good too.
