We were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was as it was an older hotel. The pool was warm, the front desk area was really well decorated, as was the eating area for breakfast. The breakfast had a lot of options and was yummy. The rooms were very clean, the beds were cosy and the bathtub was spotless. Nice quiet relaxing hotel with large rooms.

It seemed nice, but the day we came back from hiking the redwoods, looking forward to soaking in the hot tub, we discovered the pool area was under construction. Our room was generally clean, but we did find some dirt left behind the bathroom door. We did like the little park area so we could hang out outside and chat for a bit. The staff were very nice, and the Continental breakfast was good and within our expectations. There were a few unhoused people wandering the area, but it's nothing new to us, and I didn't feel unsafe.

Disappointing Stay- Not Worth the Price I had high expectations given the price of this hotel, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to it. The customer service was lackluster at best. The concierges were unfriendly and seemed more annoyed than willing to help. While the breakfast did offer a variety of options, cleanliness was a major issue throughout the stay. Our room was not adequately cleaned: there was hair in the shower, and the faucet in the bathroom wouldn’t stop dripping, which was both annoying and wasteful. For the rate they charge, the property was underwhelming. There are plenty of other options at a similar price point in the area, and I would strongly advise selecting one of them.

Very high marks for the front desk staff. The breakfast was far better than most "free breakfast" offerings, with many choices and surprisingly good quality. Our only issue was that our room had not been vacuumed, and the bathroom was not clean. When we reported this, it was quickly and very satisfactorily remedied.

Would not recommend this hotel. Pleasant enough staff on check-in. Didn't know on booking or check-in that pool was not working and wouldn't be for another month (informed when I asked). Went to ground floor room 121, had lots of bugs in bathroom. Immediately went back to reception, was asked to show pictures of them, initially told there wasn't anything that could be done because maintenance had gone home, wasn't initially offered another room until I asked, was moved to room 226 upstairs which did not have any bugs. Was a jacuzzi room which I did use but was very noisy. Decent breakfast, lots of food options and seating available, seemed clean and frequently replenished.

The room was clean and comfortable. The beds and towels smelled fresh. The beds and pillows were comfortable. I slept well with my ear plugs. Walls very thin, could hear everything outside, above and some next door. Kids running around in room above us. Breakfast was overall good but surfaces hadn’t been wiped down in a while. There were no clean tables, they all had crumbs or sticky stains. The waffles were delicious but the one wafflemaker was impossible to flip and no one was around to help, half of the batter dripped out while it beeped loudly.

Shout out to Ash at the front desk for providing some of the most genuine and best customer service I have ever experienced anywhere, honestly made our stay that much better! :) The rooms are extremely clean, have soft towels, and super comfy beds! Definitely will be staying here again next time I’m in the area.

The only issue we had was with the T.V. and viewing options. There isn\'t a "guide" to tell you what\'s on. So, you have to go to every channel, wait for all the commercials to play to find out that it\'s not what you want. The remote control was worthless in helping navigate the options. There were dozens of channels and all of them had worthless programs playing.

Great staff, super friendly and efficient. Rooms were ok, very clean, but a bit shabby. Nice pool/spa area, very clean, but also a bit shabby. Beds were very uncomfortable, but neat and clean. Breakfast was varied, sausage, hashbrown, eggs, biscuits and gravy, and varied mufgins, bagels, waffles, etc, and it was very well kept. Thanks for a great stay!

The television was unmanageable. Clikers did not work properly, we were not able to make the television work and find a movie. or anything else. Breakfast hours are too narrow. Should stay open until 9:30 or ten. Staff and facility were very good.

I had a problem reserving an accessible room online using a third party website so I just booked a regular room hoping it would be easy to switch rooms if I arrived to the hotel early. When I arrived in Arcata I called the hotel toninq the front desk informed me they couldn't help me so they transferred me to They transferred me to customer relations where they informed me they couldn't switch rooms for me because I used a third party site to book the room. So when I arrived at the hotel I explained my issue and she immediately switched my room. The young lady behind the counter on June 17 in the evening was my hero. I wish I remembered her name. But I couldn't believe the run around BW gave me when I called but it did evenrually work out.

This was on of our stays on a five day roadtrip and I can say that out of all the places we went this hotel had the BEST service. The two men at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Every employee we talked to was happy to be there doing their job.

Horrible motel. Not only is it unsafe due to all of the drug users that loiter around the motel. The toilet was clogged, I asked for maintenance and they were gone for the day. No toilet plunger offered, nothing offered to help other than towels to soak up the constantly leaking toilet water. I asked to change rooms and was told nothing was available, it was Monday. The pool and hot tub were down but those facilities looked ran down and I would not have used them anyway. The location is horrible, disgusting and extremely unsafe. Terrible staff and management. You’re better off staying at the BW in Eureka (15min away)

Staff wasn’t professional at their work. I had someone trying to enter my room late in the night. Turns out the hotel staff gave the same room key card of mine to other party. I got a call from the front desk that same night talking rudely and in-professionally. Really bad experience.

Property is located just off the 101 freeway - convenient for overnight stay with continued travel next morning. Room was fine and bed was quite comfortable. Water pressure in shower was great. Unfortunately, we chose this hotel specifically because of the hot tub, which we badly needed after a long drive from Los Angleles. The spa was not working, so we were very disappointed. Wish we had gotten a notice from Best Western after we booked. Will consider another property next time...

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Hot breakfast options were ok, lots of options. Pool was really nice and comfortable (as a parent watching younger kids - the indoor outdoor pool room wasn't hot and stuffy as they usually are). The kids enjoyed it. Close to grocery store and some restaurants. Location is pretty quick to Sue Meg State Park and redwood hikes! Cookies in the evening at the front desk.

Best breakfast ever at a hotel better than a 5 star. Big spacious rooms. The only thing that bothered me was that I gave a 25 dollar deposit and my room was left just fine. I never got the deposit back. Other than that I would highly recommend this location.
