Loved our stay here. Had top floor room so a view of the ocean. Parking was relatively tight. Layout was a bit confusing. Our 1st night there, as we were nearby eating dinner, elevator died. We didn’t know how to get back up to room so we walked around building; that was correct of course. Luckily elevator fixed by about 11 am. Breakfast was good. Wish door would’ve remained unlocked for microwave use; I asked & was told it would be but it wasn’t. Great location. I would stay here again.

Truly a gem in Carmel by the Sea! Beautiful place with large rooms, comfy bed, comfy pillows. Nice fireplace in room however no A/C. Even for August, it was OK. We left our window open and the room was quite comfortable. Surprisingly as we cannot sleep well without AC. The staff was above and beyond, from the front desk (thanks Luis) to the breakfast room staff to the housekeeping staff. Helpful and great service. The free breakfast was great. Scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, bread, bagels, Danish, muffins, yogurt, fruit, juices, cereal and more. Varied each day, fresh and delicious. Nice strong coffee too! Nice heated pool, plenty of free parking on site. Exceptional cleanliness throughout the property. Added bonus, local grocery/deli, Bruno's, right next door including a huge wine selection! Walkable area with plenty of shops, restaurants, pharmacy. Such a wonderful experience. Cannot wait to go back!!

Anniversary trip to California. One night in Carmel. Beautiful area and we felt very safe walking around the city at night. Very nice room with fireplace and a good breakfast. Limited parking but we were able to park close on the street. I would stay here again!

My stay here was ok but not sure how it compares to alternative options. The room was clean, the location was great, check in service was easy, though the woman conducting the check in process was not very hospitable. The included breakfast is very skimpy and comparable to something you would expect from a low-fair chain hotel on the side of the highway. Having read previous reviews, I did not have high expectations, so ultimately, I was not disappointed. Parking is very tight, and I did end up scraping my rental car on a cement pole attempting to squeeze into a covered spot (and last spot) near my room - then moved to an alternative spot on the other side of the Inn - far from my room. I chose this Inn for its location and cost - as it was booked somewhat last minute. It was ok for a 1 night stay, but wouldn't give a high recommendation for a multiple day stay - as I would assume there are better alternatives.

Parking was easy and secure. Shops and restaurants a few steps away. A spacious and comfortable breakfast room with an excellent breakfast. We come to Carmel every 3-5 years. This was our very favorite place.

We really enjoyed our stay! Room was very clean, quiet and had all the amenities we needed. The location was super, steps away from downtown Carmel and the price was great too, considering how close it was to everything. Staff were friendly and nice too. We will be back!

The best thing about this hotel is the location, so close to downtown, lots of restaurants and shops just steps away. The room was comfortable although there were almost no amenities. The room was clean although the odor of cleaning fluids was so overwhelming that we had to leave the door open for at least 30 minutes to get rid of it. There is a little refrigerator and coffe maker but no safe or lotion. The staff was efficient and friendly.

Check in was seamless and service was great! The room itself was very clean and spacious. Location was also perfect, close to downtown Carmel. The breakfast included was standard, but pretty good as well. No complaints and would definitely stay here again.

We had a room on the 4th floor and had a nice view of the downtown and ocean! Room was clean, but there were some ants in the bathroom and we’d occasionally spot one or two near the furniture near the patio.

Very nice refurbished motel with a gas fireplace in the room. Comfortable King bed. Breakfast was very nice. If you can get in the upper floors above second floor you would have a nice view of Carmel Bay. We would definitely stay there when we go back to the area.

Very nice and spacious hotel room! We had a fireplace in our room, though we didn’t need it. There’s no air conditioner, so we did have to open the bathroom window to cool it off at the end of the day. It’s an older hotel but it was, hands down, the cleanest hotel I’ve ever seen in my life! Very well kept property and the staff were amazing!

We had a corner room in the building on the street behind the main property. There was a large patio with amazing views of the town and the ocean. Even though it was January, we still sat outside to watch the sunset. On a chillier evening, we lit the fireplace for a cozy winter evening. The location is terrific - walkable to restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping in the town of Carmel. Typical free breakfast, but good enough to get a start on the day. The room was clean and quiet. I do wish the chairs, both at the table outside and the table inside, had been more comfortable.

The room gets very warm if the weather is warm. You can open the windows but you will hear everything from the parking lot. You can hear everyone’s water running, doors slamming, and loud talking. The pros far out weigh the cons and I’d definitely stay here again. Cooler times of year and bring ear plugs

The room was clean. Much more spacious than the images online. There was a good size table with two chairs, two nightstands, each with two outlets attached to the lamp. Fluffy pillows, tall comfy bed, fireplace which we used, and clean bathroom. Walls are a bit thin as we could hear the bath shower sounds of the next room which are behind the wall where our bed is located.

Luis checked me in and was basically my main point of contact throughout my stay. Our room unfortunately had an issue during the second night of our stay but Luis was quick to resolve the issue by getting us into another room with the similar amenities we booked for. Thank you Luis for your amazing customer service. My boyfriend and I stayed here as a small getaway for my birthday. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Overall, our stay was quiet and relaxing. I would definitely stay here again. Great property in a convenient location with walkable food and shopping options. Staff is also great!

Toilet was clogged and overflowed, all they did was send up a plunger for us to unclog the toilet with. All the rooms were fully booked so we couldn’t move to another room, but they did not clean or mop the floors.

I really enjoyed my stay. The Louis and Mike were sweet and personable. I was a little suprised that it didn't have AC but it was the middle of July and the temp never went above 65 degrees, never needed one. Enjoyed my stay.

Mike at the front desk was so helpful. Beautiful property with an ocean view and balcony had a very good price. The breakfast was delicious and the location is very walkable and beautiful Carmel by the sea.

The hotel says very specifically that pets are not allowed. Yet the guests next door to our room had a dog with them; its barking woke us up one night. We informed the management. Apparently, the dog checked out. Also, housekeeping continually neglected to bring washcloths to the room. And, on the subject of housekeeping: we actually had to ASK for housekeeping every morning, by 11, or risk not having the room cleaned. Guests should not have to remind hotels to run a vacuum or make a bed. All this said, our room did indeed have a Bay view from the balcony, and for that was worth it. Once.

We loved our stay. Comfortable beds, clean rooms with beautiful views of the ocean, beautiful grounds very well taken care of, and we loved the closeness and convenience of its location to everything. We will definitely be back again!!!

Affordable hotel for Carmel, in a great location, very clean room, and free parking was a plus. Room could have come with extra blankets, I got pretty cold in the middle of the night as we were there in Nov. Continental breakfast was as expected, pretty basic. Overall, a nice stay and good bang for your buck.

We've stayed here a couple of times, and it's a solid choice though nothing exceptional. Hotels in Carmel are expensive because it's a major tourist destination; don't think that paying $250/night or $300 for a view room will get you luxury accommodations. Location is top notch. The views are fantastic as the hotel is on the northeast and highest part of town. There's easy access (3-minute walk) into town. Rooms are comfortable and spacious and have both indoor in outdoor seating. It's amazing to watch the sun set from your balcony if the weather cooperates. If you're in town on Thursday, the farmer's market is 2 minutes away. A few downsides. Breakfast is provided, though it's rather simple -- bagels, pastries, a couple cereal options, juice, coffee and tea. They offered the same scrambled eggs and sausages all three days we were there, a nice upgrade but would be nice to have some variety or a self serve waffle station. I've seen better breakfast buffets in very modest 2-3 star hotels. They have coffee and tea available in the lobby 24 hours/day which is a nice touch but not cold water or water bottles to take with you around town. Years after the pandemic, they don't provide daily housekeeping unless you request it. These are all minor, and we'd stay there again, but they keep the property from being 5*.

Stayed here with two other families for a nearby wedding. It was everything I hoped in terms of location and distance to beach. All the kids had a great time at the heated pool. Rooms very clean and spacious and beds were comfortable (I prefer a firm bed; my husband said it could have been firmer). The breakfast was simple but it tasted like real eggs and meat and most importantly, as a coffee snob - the coffee was excellent!! Being right next door to Bruno's Market for affordable and delicious prepared food and convenient groceries was a bonus. I would stay here again!
