Hercor Hotel - Urban Boutique

Overall we got what we needed. A good nights sleep at a good price. The restroom and room itself looks modern and very detailed so that was a plus. The walkways and elevator look dirty and the site where it’s at is in a weird part of town with a lot of homeless. The staff were nice and helpful. Rooms are awesome but need to clean up around the walkways and elevators.

Hercor Hotel is a great value and pleasant spot. The hotel is a modern gem in working class Chula Vista. Parking, both covered and open, was easy, plentiful and secured by card access. The location is very near the SD Trolley transit station at H street and I5 making for an easy trip to the popular sites. I learned how to take the Trolley and bus to La Jolla and Balboa Park. The staff were all helpful and friendly generous with free bottled water and fresh fruit. On offer for an extra fee, is a cooked-to-order breakfast in a lovely second floor dinning room lounge. The four floors of this compact hotel are served by the fastest elevator I’ve been on in a while. The room was smartly stylish but small and without a fridge. The king bed was comfy and the bedding of good quality. I was annoyed by the fact that I had to stick a room key-card into a holder by the door to get the lights to work and keep it there. I walked out without my card more than once in my four night stay. Get an extra. The mini split AC was a nice quiet feature that I enjoyed. I have visited Chula Vista many times and found the Hercor my favorite so far. The neighborhood features many dining options in easy walking distance: popular taco spots like Tacos El Gordo; various Asian food spots; coffee and a terrific Starbread Filipino bakery. Starbread features hot from the oven little sweet bread rolls that became our favorite treat. There is a good sized mall at the end of the block and a Costco nearby.

There were limited parking area inside the hotel. There were lots of homeless people in the late evening and in the morning too.

Great workers and place was amazing love the locked up gates for the cars!

The parking was nice

Rooms are nice staff are kind building is beautiful. Breakfast is an extra 7 dollars per person. Parking is gated but tight and narrow. Hit the rear hatch of our SUV on bottom of parking garage which is low. GREAT PRICES an would stay again. Just keep afore mentioned in mind.

The room itself was nice, not a lot of bathroom privacy. The room was decor was decent and clean except for the ice bucket. The shower is large and has a nice shower head, very large mirror with different options for lighting. The am staff was very friendly, very small lobby. There wasn’t a lot of parking and the neighborhood wasn’t great but I didn’t feel unsafe. Located very close to the freeway.

We came in pretty late so we showered, pit out food on the table/desk area along with our belongings. This morning i called and housekeeping came and sprayed however, after getting back into bed, ants were in the bed. Ww decided to leave earlier than expected so we were getting dress and we found ants in our belongings and on our clothes.

I’ve stayed here before and I ve never had any problems. There was bed bugs or fleas an out room/bed. My husband and I started itching from all our bodies. We started seeing little bumps like bug bites on our skin. We had to leave to another hotel.

Dirty sock in drawer and bathroom smelled like the sewer.

The room is small but somewhat nice. However the sheets were dirty which was gross. Walls are a bit thin

Dirty! Do not stay here! The comforter had stains and the pillow had black hairs on it. I went to Walmart and bought my own. The ac barely worked and the shower wouldn't turn off completely. We only stayed one night and would have changed hotels but it was prepaid.

Clean and organized hotel and friendly staff

The rooms were very clean and looked recently renovated/updated. The bathroom was great with good shower pressure and the bedding was quite nice compared to other hotels ive been to. The hotel guide in the room was actually helpful; and the front deak staff were even more so. The stay was very pleasant and i would happily book with them again.

Rooms were very clean, staff was very nice, attentive and helpful. Hotel is located very close to a residential area and busy street but it was not noisy at all.

The location is quite good and safe area. There room carpet is old and it doesn´t give a good smell to the room

Great affordable place to stay in San Diego! The hotel itself seems like an older building, but the rooms are nicely updated and very comfortable! Our bed was great, loved the big shower, and the hot breakfast in the morning was nice. The room is small but we didn’t spend much time in the room anyways besides sleeping and showering, so it was everything we needed for a few nights. Would stay here again!

The property is nice, clean and modern. Ghe rooms are unfortunately small without a refrigerator. All things considered it was fine

The bed was way too soft and too low. The bathroom has glass doors. There is a curtain that only goes across half the room wall. So at night a light in bathroom can be seen in rest of room. The windows have shutters that don’t close all the way. The thermostat is difficult to use. It likes to hold a temperature at random times. Will turn off heat or AC. No coffee in lobby as manual in room states. Espresso machine in room was difficult to use. No coffee machine in room.

Really nice hotel with contemporary decor and super friendly staff. Spotless and comfortable. Tons of restaurants and stores within a few blocks walking. Only bummer was the WiFi, which was intermittent and mostly unreliable. Also TV was streaming-only so I couldn't watch football on Sunday. I look forward to staying here again when I visit CV.

Can hear people walking above you. Room has no fridge and a weird smell. Poor lighting in room and bathroom. Bathroom curtain didn’t work would only work half way

Overall great price for a stay in San Diego! Parking was not congested. I was greeted by two young ladies upon arrival and was given champagne. Great customer service! When it came to room selection, I was able to select the 4th floor. The staff explained the breakfast and check-out time thoroughly. The only issue I would say is that the room is smaller than previous hotels I’ve stayed at in San Diego. In addition, there are no blackout curtains thus some light was shining in the morning. You will be able to hear people as they pass by your hotel room, which is inconvenient when you are looking to sleep in. If anything I suggest to turn the tv on or some music. Outside of that, I will be back but just make some adjustments.

Always a great trip. The staff is always helpful and kind. The area is perfect for walking to many restaurants. They continue to keep the rooms in good condition and take care of the property. Very secure. You must enter through the lobby.

This is my third stay at this property and it gets better every time. The staff is always so friendly and even afford me an early checkin and late checkout. I have no negative complaints and I look forward to always staying here on my trips to Chula Vista!

The location is close to the interstate, which is convenient but noisy. The immediate area is somewhat run-down and dirty. I think it used to a thriving location a few years ago, but is not being well maintained. Close to the Chula Vista Center, which is a shopping and restaurant area. It has some decent food placed, but many stores are closed.

Location was great quick access to the freeway plenty of restaurants close by . The room was modern and clean. staff is very friendly and helpful.

It’s loud everywhere except for the top floors. Good luck getting any sleep here. And it’s loud like you’re in a vacuum ALL the darn time. And the mentally instable and unsavory types roaming the surroundings of the hotel all day and night, rambling to themselves, isn’t the most comfortable sight and sound to relax away to. Save your money, choose somewhere else!!

Near the rail line which can be a good thing but noisy. Not the best neighborhood... left one morning and a homelss man sleeping on the sidewalk near my parked car. the staff was great The room and hotel was overall clean. The room had a few minor issues like light bulbs being burnt out and decor being broken. The internet was spotty at best. Had to use my hotspot to use my laptop.

Good overall very clean but the area around the city streets lots of trash and tall grass and vagrants.

The property inside the lobby and room was nice. The area surrounding was not the best.

A little taken back from the Area but the Hotel made up for it...

Should mention breakfast isn’t free! Saying “you have the option to eat breakfast” doesn’t imply you’ll be paying for it, if you do decide.

I loved how everyone was so nice with check-in and throughout stay. Also, I love how you guys give out water upon request. And the cleaning staff kept them rooms emaculate. Breakfast area last was awesome as well

Having stayed here last year, we were more than happy to stay here again. It is very convenient for local transport, shops and eateries. The breakfast was more than adequate, with hot food too. Coffee is also available all day. My only negative is the lack of fridge in the room. I would happily stay here again

The room was clean, modern, but small, great for two people, not big enough for three. Breakfast was great and filling, coffee hot. Everything you find in a good restaurant. Hotel staff were great and responded quickly to a request. Best of all the price per night for a hotel in San Diego was great .
