The staff were helpful and informative. Upon a late check-in, I was given an upgrade to a suite for the hotel's convenience and at no additional cost to me. My only real issue was that the booking website advertised that this property operated an airport shuttle to John Wayne Airport. I was told the night before I was to depart that the hotel no longer operated the shuttle, which was clearly parked in the parking lot! The convenience of a shuttle was the primary reason I had chosen this hotel.

My husband and I have been coming here for the past three years because we run the oc and Huntington marathon. This place is quiet, friendly, easy to access, many eateries in the area, the staff is pleasant, and ultimately very comfortable. the hot tub is nice after a long run and the staff is very attentive. They used to have a mini restaurant on the premises but with the new owners it seems as if they closed that down. As of 2/2025 there is no more restaurant.

Property was in a great location, close to everything! Staff was friendly. Our room was clean, decent, and spacious. Breakfast was a nice added bonus. The elevator closest to our room was out of order which was a little inconvenient since we were on the third floor. Behind us was a busy street which got noisy at times, but we managed okay. Overall, a great place to stay when visiting Orange County!

I was disappointed in the room drywall not finished. Carpet coming off the wall , wallpaper peeling , a big chuck of the bottom of bathroom door taken out , no bath mat . Exercise room was only open from 9 to 9 most hotels open earlier because you want to get your workout done before you leave but yet they had people blowing the property at eight 815 830. Sunday morning breakfast 15 there was very little food no eggs, old sausages and the cereal was stale. I do have pictures if you are really interested.

The property was close to the Newport Beach Pier. The beds were comfortable and clean. When we arrived, I was told that they didn't have any more rooms with 2 queen sized beds and that we would be upgraded. Then she made a little face like she found the original kind of room. Our room's shower had mold on the mat, mold between the shower towels, the wallpaper was pealing near the toilet with mold growing. My youngest son refused to use the shower because of how dirty it looked. When we didn't have enough towels, the front desk brought us more in under 5 minutes. The breakfast was disappointing. The eggs did not smell good. The water tasted like old tap water. We did not go to the pool.

I never mind an older hotel however, this hotel is in dire need of an update. The walls needed repair, the bathrooms needed repair, and the furnishings were old and worn down. My room was next to a machine room and the noise was unbearable. There were ants everywhere, crawling on me while in bed. No concessions given for the issues. Won’t stay here again.

Perfect for a young family that is going to the beach all day. Easy to get to convenient location and pretty clean. Now for us older peps the beds arent the best and you can hear everything! So definitely dont stay on the 1st floor. All and all it wasnt a bad experience we would stay here again in a pinch. It just wouldn't be our 1st pick. Signed the grump people that love sleep

Our stay at the Ramada by Wyndham Costa Mesa/Newport Beach was, unfortunately, quite lacklustre. Thankfully, we weren’t spending much time at the hotel because our experience in room 237 left a lot to be desired. The room was located right at the top of the staircase and beside the elevator, so we constantly heard foot traffic and conversations at all hours. It was also directly above the cleaning staff’s main area, making it even noisier throughout the day. The only window in the room overlooked the elevator and stairwell, so there was no natural light or view—just a very boxed-in feeling. The bed was just okay, though not particularly comfortable, and the pillows were not great. One plus was that the room was clean. However, the walls near the bathroom made loud banging noises throughout the day and night, which became quite frustrating. Overall, it was just a semi-decent place to sleep. We also had a confusing check-in experience. We arrived about 30 minutes before the official check-in time of 3:00 PM and were told we couldn’t be helped until then. Yet, within that time, three other guests arrived and were all checked in before 3 with no issue. We weren’t sure why we were made to wait while others weren’t. All in all, we wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

Pool area nice. House service polite and helpful. However, one girl during checkout Rude as hell. Needs better customer service training!!! No Thank You’s and she took in a deep breathe, when I asked for a paper receipt. Like it was too much to ask for!!! Been going here for years and first person came across so RUDE!!! Hope she gets the training or is gone next year!!!

We arrived at 11 PM after a long day of flights, anxious to settle in and relax. We were informed we couldn't get a room because the system was down - and to have a seat in the lobby. We waited at least 45 minutes (as did a few other guests who arrived). We told the other guests about the "delay" because there was no staff to tell them what was happening. *or rather, NOT happening. Finally, the manager came out and asked what type of room we reserved (We didn't remember exactly) and said he'd walk us to a room - but he couldn't give us a key. He said he'd put our key under our door in the morning - but he didn't. We couldn't both leave the room in the AM because we didn't have a key to get back in. My husband finally asked for a key at the front desk so we could both go to breakfast together. In the room - the beds were comfy as were the pillows. However, the drawer on the nightstand wouldn't stay shut and kept opening about 6 inches no matter what we tried. The desk chair didn't fit under the desk, so it blocked the area at the end of the bed. You could tell many people tried to jam the chair out of the way because the chair was badly damaged. The breakfast was pretty good - good eggs and sausage and very good orange juice.

The room was infested with ants. The elevator we were promised was broken with the buttons completely ripped out of the wall. Furniture falling apart. Breakfast Buffett was inedible. One of our keys didn’t work and when we went to have it fixed they didn’t ask for an ID, so anyone can just say they are in a room and have a key given to them? The staff was nice which is the only nice thing I can say

My wife and I found this Ramada back in 2017 and have stayed there everytime we take a trip to Catalina Island. The hotel is well maintained and nice pool and nice clean rooms. When we come back from Catalina, we stay again that night before heading back home in Arizona the next day. The managment had a problem with a room for another guest and asked if I would be will to change rooms before I checked in. The manager at the lobby desk have us an upgrade to a suite above the office. We also are satisfied with this hotel and go there almost yearly.

I wanted an early check in, I called the day before and they said to call at 10:00 a.m. to see if there is any rooms for a early check in. There wasn't. I got there early as planned, went to the front desk asked for an early check in. They said there isn't any. Since it's a motel I saw rooms being cleaned and rooms available. This made it very inconvenient for me. I had to wait in my car for over 3 hours. I went to the front desk at least four times to ask if there's any rooms available for early check-in. They did not accommodate!

The guy that checked me in was nice enough, but I had to wait 45 minutes after check-in for my room. Room had not been cleaned yet. No real apology and nothing offered. They seemed undertrained and unorganized. Another group had to walk back from their upstairs room twice to get their keys activated correctly. The location of the hotel is exactly what I needed but it was really rundown and probably because of that did not feel very clean, which was reflected in the price so that was not a big surprise.

The best thing about this property is it provides good access to the Newport and Balboa areas. Parking is convenient and bedding was comfortable. It needs some TLC in repair and maintenence of guest rooms and specifically with carpet cleaning. Staff struggled with keeping guests supplied with towels in-room and at the pool (management/short staffed?). Property was one of the most affordable in the area which probably accounts for the less than perfect conditions.

Have stayed here many times over many years. It is nice to see that they have been updating it in recent years. It is not luxurious, but the staff is helpful, rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. It is in a convenient location with lots of stores and restaurants nearby and only a few minute drive from the beach.

I like that it is a close drive to the beach. I like that they started a new free cont. breakfast. The problem though, is the breakfast isn’t very good! The sausage looks and smells bad and doesn’t taste good. The scrambled eggs are rubbery and no flavor! The attendant was poor attention. It needed higher quality foods and more organization.

Over all property was good. However, breakfast could be improved. There was no coffee one morning and eggs and fruit ran out and the tables were not kept up for a wipe down. Had to reach out to a staffer for help to have a table cleaned. There was plates left on other tables. Carpets need a good steam clean

Our room was comfortable, however the shower did not drain well. Our biggest complaint is that they ran out of eggs at 8 am. Right when we arrived. Out of yogurt by 8:30. They did however have two waffle makers.
