Beautiful property. Loved the remodel. I didn’t like that there was any hint of a swimming pool. The pool, which was our view, is a mess. The concrete decking has buckled and is sticking up. There are weeds so high. There’s an old piece of wood over the hot tub. Why did I get an email saying that the pool wasn’t open until the end of the year. It won’t be open for years. And why did we get charged a resort fee of $11? There’s no amenities. No pool. No gym. I was told that the amenities are the restaurant and golf course. But that’s an amenity that people pay for, not that we receive for paying $11. I reviewed your website after being charged at the hotel. One part of the Hotels.com website says that the bill is paid in full before you get to the hotel. In another spot it says that you have to pay $11.

The room itself was spacious and clean. Check in is at the lobby and the rooms you need drive to the rooms which was fine. But there was construction going on so I had to go a longer way to my room and there are no elevators or ramps and my luaggge was really heavy and they placed me on the second floor and didn’t ask me if I had any accommodation issues with going up stairs prior

Upon check in we found out there was no breakfast during the week, the one restaurant closes at 7pm, and the pool and jacuzzi were closed. In room you are given bare essentials (1 bar of hand soap- no other soap/shower gel) shampoo/ conditioner and lotion. There is a small fridge, no microwave. Luckily we live in the city so went back to get our own toiletries, and out to the grocery store for breakfast, creamer and coffee. Other than a market and burger place other restaurants/ stores are about 10-20 minutes away. Be prepared to bring your own things as well. Luckily food delivery services can deliver as well. We were looking for a relaxing staycation, the room was clean enough, we were told they were just renovated, that does not seem to have included the mattress/bed. Very uncomfortable on the back. The grounds are lovely, and perhaps coming for a golf weekend it would've been satisfactory but for our purposes it was not at all what we had hoped for unfortunately.

Hotel restaurant food was great. Beds were comfortable and temperature/ AC inside hotel rooms worked well. Rooms are in separate buildings far away from the lobby, and are not easily walkable with the construction. Pool was closed.

This would have been our second time staying there. First time we were here 4 years ago the pool was closed because it was under renovation. This time when we were checking in I asked about the pool and again it’s was under renovation. How can you have a resort with no pool access. We ended up cancelling our reservation. I don’t think they ever open their pool since then. The property is beautiful and large. They could easily have a 2nd pool area. Just think it’s summer time and holiday weekend and you don’t have access to a pool. I can stay home and celebrate the holiday weekend and not spend almost $800 just to sleep in a room

The lobby and restaurant is separate from the building with the rooms and you have to drive to your room. The room was very spacious and clean. We were right on the first tee box but it wasn’t too loud, though you can kind of hear the cars from the freeway not too far away. Pool was under construction so wasn’t able to use that amenity.

Like the remodel of the rooms, very contemporary. Wish I didn't have to walk 1/2 a block up hill to get ice. Thought for sure after a couple of years the pool would have been redone but still no pool. Golf course is immaculate, restaurant limited hours, closes after 7pm. No breakfast except weekends. Snack bar some am foods but was closed at 3pm when we made the turn. We will be back.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. My biggest “pet peeve” is no screens on the windows. The evening air as beautiful, but the spiders that got in weren’t! Also, there was some mold in the bathroom and that window could not open at all (we may have helped that situation). It is a beautiful place though, and Fallbrook is always wonderful.

It’s a Modern Golf Resort in the Middle of a Forest with brand new renovated rooms with plenty of space. Outside on my balcony, I can have birds chirping, fogs by the creek and fresh air. Yet, my room is modern with USB plugs, shower, spa bathtub, light sensor closets & more. Should be listed as 4 star or 3 and 1/2. Free Parking is also another boost as I just paid $40 dollars parking at Hilton in Costa Mesa. The two things missing are a microwave and a screen door.

They renovated a run/down motel style property. BUT, they foolishly left the 40-50 yr. old deteriorated, aluminum framed, single pane big sliding door / window units. They are difficult to even open so nobody was seen using the decks and patio areas outside each unit. WORSE; By not replacing this decrepit window units you might see in a 50 year old Motel 6, the loud, continuous car and truck noise from the nearby highway that is on the window side, disturbs sleep late into the night. I would never recommend this noisy place to anyone. Now, with the rest of the rooms renovated, it will be a lot messier for their foolish company to tear out those big, junky door units with sound deadening, energy saving dual-pane glass, fiberglass framed units. There are probably even tax credits or at least business deductions for energy saving replacements. ALSO: Management showed no interest in my legitimate complaint; AND, they ripped people off with a daily “Resort Fee”. I told them the highway noise ruined my sleep for 4 nights and at asked for compensation for my $770 bill, plus $11.70 per day Resort Fee. No response! No Resort Amenities were available; even worse: they had no available bathrooms in their lobby or big restaurant! Just a smelly, temporary trailer inconveniently located in the parking lot (going outside in 98 degree heat, or in rain. Also their pool was also deteriorated and not available. We were barely acknowledged other than they were short staffed, which was valid. They were stressed, tables were left uncleared, etc. Food was not great. I had three visits to the lounge during the stay and all were mediocre at best. I went to the front desk for a receipt of my stay and was met with a sign that says someone would be available shortly and thanking me for my patience. I never did see anyone or get a paper receipt. This property has pending renovations, and is need of them. Overall I was disappointed and would not recommend. I recognize staffing issues, but a smile and acknowledgement goes a long way. Offering a seat and a beverage during the wait would've solved it, but was not offered.

I had absolutely no trouble rating this property excellent all the way through. Staff so friendly and helpful. I was out for the evening and when I got back to my room there was a message from the front desk inquiring if everything was satisfactory, and did I need anything more. Seriously, I can't think of any other hotel stay were the front desk inquired about my satisfaction or needs. I also was surprised at inexpensive the room was for such a clean, modern, quiet hotel room. A++++++.

Unbelievably brutal and rigid check-in policy. We wanted an early check-in - perhaps 2:30 PM because we were attending a wedding reception at 3:30 PM. We were told that we could check-in at 3:00 but anytime earlier including 2:30 would cost an additional $65.00. Hotel was desolate - at least it appeared so from the parking lots. Absolutely inflexible.

I want to give a huge thank you to Mackey at Palo Mesa Golf Resort for going above and beyond to accommodate me. I had to stay at another hotel the night before and was worried about the gap between check-out and check-in, but Mackey made sure there was a smooth transition. He responded quickly and was incredibly helpful in getting me an early check-in so I didn’t have to wait around. It made such a difference to my day, and I truly can’t thank him enough. I want to give a huge thank you to Mackey at Palo Mesa Golf Resort for going above and beyond to accommodate me. I had to stay at another hotel the night before and was worried about the gap between check-out and check-in, but Mackey made sure there was a smooth transition. He responded quickly and was incredibly helpful in getting me an early check-in so I didn’t have to wait around. It made such a difference to my day, and I truly can’t thank him enough. Excellent service and hospitality—Mackey is the reason I’ll be returning!

I booked an Executive suite for one night to stay out here for our anniversary. I called ahead to let the staff know i would be checking in a little late. I get there later that evening and I'm told by the staff that the Executive rooms are no longer available due to maintenance. I was told they called and left a message which didn't happen and that i would be downgraded to a smaller room plus a $30 discount. Definitely not what i expected at all. We drove to our room on the west side of the property and stopped by where all the Executive suites are located and the parking lots were full! Obviously they were not under maintenance and they double booked our room or gave it to another quest. The room we ended up with was ok, smelled like cigarettes and the conditions of the room were ok. The discount in price for the downgrade was ridiculous and the conditions were not what the reviews and ratings lead me to believe. Next time i know not to come to Pala mesa resort.

Property was ok. Staff not very friendly and even though we checked in around 5pm, we were told they were not sure if room was ready and had to wait for verification. As a guest, if the check in time says 4pm, we expect the room to be ready at that time same thing it’s expected from the guests at checkout.

Very clean, quiet and peaceful. Room was great. It was spacious, had some good furniture, it was updated and stylish with no weird smells or dirtiness which is a big thing for me. Free parking and good location being that its right off the freeway but tucked away. Rated 4 stars only due to limited amenities onsite, no free breakfast, and high prices for the weekend rate. Im not a golfer so the weekend rates weren't worth it for me but I could see this being a great weekend golf retreat.

Nearby the wedding venue, but a good distance to restaurants and other activities. Buildings looked in need of some TLC and the pool was closed, without any more than a couple day telephone advisory. The Resort restaurant had limited hours and the expresso machine in the room did not work reliably. My wife was quite short of happy with our experience, other than the location close to FallBrook wedding sight.

recently stayed at Pala Mesa Resort while attending my niece’s wedding, and overall it was a lovely experience. I really liked that the resort had a small, cozy feel, with our room overlooking the golf course—such a relaxing view. Great property. We were attending a wedding at a nearby venue. Property was nice and clean, quiet and easy access close to venue. Definitely will try and stay again to just enjoy and relax. Visited in March pool was closed but wasnt a deal breaker....

The room was clean and fine. My critique was the service from the lounge and lack of staffing. We waited more than 15 minutes at the hostess stand to be seated. We were barely acknowledged other than they were short staffed, which was valid. They were stressed, tables were left uncleared, etc. Food was not great. I had three visits to the lounge during the stay and all were mediocre at best. I went to the front desk for a receipt of my stay and was met with a sign that says someone would be available shortly and thanking me for my patience. I never did see anyone or get a paper receipt. Offering a seat and a beverage during the wait would've solved it, but was not offered.

Beautiful place, great view inside a golf course. Staff (recepcion & restaurant) not so friendly. I was surprised to see such a big restaurant with a great view, but with a very poor menu selection, small portions, not so great staff nor fast service and with extremely high prices. If you are in the area, staying there, because of its location and beauty, it is really worthed.

The room was fine. The only complaint is the service at the restaurant, which was nonexistent. It was Sunday about 11AM right after check-out: Very few customers at the restaurant (even at brunch time on a Sunday!?). We waited to be seated for a good ten minutes, but nobody showed up so we left.

It’s a lovely room and an absolutely gorgeous location. The only issue we had was that we were hungry and went down for dinner at 7:30 and both the bar and dining room had closed. That was an unfortunate surprise. Everything else was perfect.

The photos do not give this place any justice. We traveled in for youth baseball and this was spot on. Large clean rooms with remodeled bathrooms and new furniture. Our room had a nice little patio that had a view. We had dinner at the restaurant and the staff was great and food was wonderful. The kids menu was priced well and was large sizes. You cant beat this place for the price and we will be back ! Thank you to the staff at the restaurant you guys did great!

Like the remodel of the rooms, very contemporary. Wish I didn't have to walk 1/2 a block up hill to get ice. Thought for sure after a couple of years the pool would have been redone but still no pool. Golf course is immaculate, restaurant limited hours, closes after 7pm. No breakfast except weekends. Snack bar some am foods but was closed at 3pm when we made the turn. We will be back.

Our stay was very comfortable. The rooms are fresh and clean. The surroundings are quiet and relaxing. The snack shack has great snacks and the staff were very accommodating! This does not reflect on the Pala Mesa Resort....Be aware when booking and avoid the A1 reservations that add extra charges. Go to their actual web site.
