Idyllwild Inn and Strawberry Creek Inn

Great location closest to the center of town. We stayed 3 times at the same place Because we like it, but this cabin we were assigned this year has no trees and no A/c. It was too hot to be inside with just fans… We’d like to come back to a cabin with an ac unit next year.

Such a good stay! The Inn is in the middle of town so you can walk every where. The people at the front desk were always so welcoming and accommodating. They have dvd’s to borrow for your stay which made the slow nights fun!

Excellent location, walking distances to stores, restaurants, trails - Cabin super clean, affordable, all utensils and electronics in good working order, jacuzzi in bath tub, Terry in the front office was amazing, friendly and professional - bed mattress was a little too soft for my particular taste, but nothing that would change our 5 star rating,

Excellent location in the mountains and yet close to the main square in the city. Lots to do within walking distance. Friendly staff too! Only one issue…. NO AIR CONDITIONING. And you need it up there big time to go to sleep.

Loved the Evergreen room. Wish they would provide the wood for the fire place but other than that it was great. Would love to stay there again.

What a relaxing and convenient place to stay. The cabin even had a nice deck with a picnic table, a flat screen TV and a wonderful fireplace. Basically it had everthing I needed plus I could just walk to several places for dinner.

Clean cabins, staff were friendly. They are located at the center of town so it’s very walkable. You do not need to drive unless you’re going on hikes. We stayed at the 1 bed room new Rustic cabins. Was the perfect size for 3 people. I love that they have a kitchen with all the kitchen tools and equipment you will need. They also have a mini fridge for your stay and a microwave.

Great location in town, clean, nice wood burning fireplace, helpful staff in a family run biz. Next time we’ll check out the cabins, we did a theme room, Summer, that had a King bed

Perfect location in Idyllwild. Walking distance to town. Friendly staff and the best homemade pies sold at the front desk!

Everything was good! Only disappointment was facility did not have an ice machine. Nice folks.

This cabin is very run down. The sofa is extremely dirty I don’t even want to sit on it and watch tv. The smell of soot is so strong. The furniture is very outdated and the price per night is not worth the condition of the cabin.

Room could use a deep cleaning found 2 spiders in room should of bought bug spray there was cob webs in ceiling. Room was nice and in a good area near a trail leading to town The food at The Peak was Great ! With Great service. The coffee at Pure was good !

The tub was nice, nowhere to really sit to eat or work though. And there were ants in the bathroom. But pets stay free so that was a nice perk for sure

We absolutely loved staying here and will definitely be back. We stayed in Cabin 10 and it was perfect size for a family of 4. We liked that we could walk everywhere in town and the staff at check in were super nice and had great recommendations for food. Super clean, had all cooking and utensils, fridge and stove and so nice to have a fire every night in the fireplace. Really enjoyed our time and so reasonably priced.

Wonderful stay our third stay at idyllwild inn , won't be our last . This time we stay in a 1 bedroom very roomy, beds are comfortable and cleaness housekeeper do a wonderful job. front desk were very helpful. Had a small issue with the heater Joseph from maintenance showed like less than 15 minutes and resolved the issue. I want to say thank you to all the staff at idyllwild inn for being professional and very helpful. Also forgot to mention that restaurants are walking distance and also the shopping stores .

Beautiful quiet location close to main town. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The main lobby had a nice gift shop with wine and other beverages. The rooms are very clean with everything you need.

Stayed in the Gentleman room (forgot the full name). Decorations were fun, but bathroom was tiny. Shower was pretty claustrophobic due to how the shower head was installed. Nice walking path to town.

Beautiful little cabin with fireplace and wood provided. Charming! Will be back again this Winter some time.

This place is big on rustic charm with a friendly, responsive staff. My room was great, and the whirlpool bath felt amazing after my hike.

We had a few issues. 1. The temperature control was inoperable set at 70 degrees. We had to use the bathroom heater to heat the room and cover the ac which kicked in as soon as the temperature reached 70. 2. There was a light blinking on the ceiling (either a smoke detector or a occupancy detector.) It blinked 95 times per hour (I calculated) and really disrupted the sleep. 3. There were no windows that had a view outside. They were frosted. The room is very dark. Definitely no mountain view. 4. The water pressure was very, very low. 5. The noise from upstairs kept me up till 11.30 pm. Other than that the stay was comfortable. And I mean that without sarcasm. We mentioned the heating and blinking light problem to the front desk. Maintenance person could have come in a few hours. We chose to deal with the discomforts.

Very clean and worth the price. Very cute. But it’s not quiet. You can easily hear the voice from next door because all the rooms are so close together. If you mind, you can book the one has its own house, just not the cheapest one

I really want to give this place five stars but the bed was super uncomfortable. I only got a few hours of sleep because of it. Other than that the place was great. Spacious, clean, kind staff and close to everything.

The room was nice. Shower was cramped and uncomfortable. TV remote did not work and the front office did not have any replacement batteries.

Lisa and Terry at the front desk were amazing when we checked in. They were very attentive and wanted to make sure our stay was memorable. Will be booking this property again.

I liked the cleanliness of the room. However, the check in process was terrible. I was told by the front office that I would be able to check in anytime after 3pm. However, I was unaware that the front office would close at 8pm. When I had let the front office know that I would be arriving after 8pm, they said they would allow me to check in after 8pm as long as I followed the instructions sent to my email. The instructions sent to my email by the front office to check in were vague and confusing. I got to the Idylwilld Inn property at night and couldn’t find my room. I was walking around the property in the dark with my mom where there was limited lighting for at least an hour. There wasn’t too many people around. After that, another person came out of his room and my mom had asked him for help to find our room on the property. He said that there was another hotel called Strawberry Creek Inn that was a sister hotel to Idylwilld Inn. Unfortunately the front office did not notify me of this. We then drove to Strawberry Creek Inn and walked towards the side door leading to our room. No one was at the front office at Strawberry Creek Inn either. The key code that was given to us me in the check in email didn’t work. So then I found a sign on another door that had a phone number I could call for after hours service. After speaking with that person, I got the correct key code to get into my room at Strawberry Creek Inn. This was a very scary and confusing check in process.

I've stayed at the Idyllwild Inn before and it was OK or better, but this time: 1. Although I made the reservation in August 2024, when I arrived to the inn on Tuesday, they told me they are full and moved me over to the Strawberry Creek Inn, which is not as centrally located. 2. At the Idyllwild Inn most of the cabins are at a ground level. At the Strawberry Creek Inn I received a room on the second floor with narrow and steep staris that I had to carry my luggage through. 3. The room (sunset) was small and crowded. 4. They said that if anything happens after 8pm, there's an emergency number to call posted on the office/reception door. When the A/C stopped working at 10PM on a hot day, I went to the office and there was no emergency number. I opened the windows and had to spend the night without an A/C and couldn't fall asleep till 2am, when it became a bit cooler outside. In the morning I found out they forgot to post the emergency number on the office door.

Absolutely loved the service at the front desk. We got takeout nearby and the place forgot our utensils. The lady at the front desk went and gave us actual silverware & napkins, and told us to just leave it in the room when we were finished. They also have DVD players and a fun selection of titles to choose from in the lobby, just like the old days.

We lived staying at the Idyllwild Inn. The rooms and cabins were so cozy with fireplaces. The staff was very friendly. Our car wouldn’t start when we went to leave and the front desk person came to help us with jumper cables in the rain!! So very kind!! We will stay again.

It was advertised as Idyllwild inn. Then they sold out and sent us down the street to strawberry inn a sister inn. Be careful when booking it is hidden in the advertising as off campus. It was sneaky and we did t notice when booking. Read advertisement carefully.

When I told them that the bathtub plug was broken and hot water was not filling up, they said they would come to fix it in 30 minutes. However, no one came. As a result, I was not able to use the bathtub. Also, I cannot use the heating. There is a wood stove, but there is not enough wood. The entrance door is not properly installed, so a draft comes in and it is cold.

The property was lovely and the room was spotless. The checkin code worked well to get into my room. However, the room I was sold was not actually at the Idyllwild Inn but down the road at Strawberry Creek Inn. The address provided, which took me to Idyllwild Inn, was incorrect. I rolled in around midnight and spent an hour looking for the correct room before reaching someone who was able to direct me to the right place. If you’re going to book a room, I’d reach out to staff beforehand to verify which property you’re staying at.

I had an amazing time! The place is in town, market, cafes, theater nearby, no need to drive after arrival. The staff was wonderful and ill be back soon.

The cabin was a newer studio setup with a King bed and a pullout sofa. The great thing about the cabin is that it is right in the middle of town - once parked by the room, I don’t think we moved our car once. The sleeping arrangements were exactly what we expected - a comfy King bed and a pull out couch that my 6yo seemed to enjoy. The difficulty is that with the studio setup, there really isn’t seating to just hang out in the room in the evening. The sofa is really setup only for sleeping (otherwise you’re seated in a sofa, staring at a wall) and the desk and chair are really only setup up to be facing the wall. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed the cabin. Next time, we’d ask for the same place and just bring our portable camp table. I think that could work out enough to make everything just the right size.

Strawberry Creek Inn was beautiful and very nice and picturesque. However, in Hotels.com we chose Idylwilld Inn, mainly because it was in the center of town, we didn’t notice it said off-site and were booking the “sister property” that was a 5 minute drive away and further from town. This unfortunately did taint our enthusiasm and left a bad taste in our mouth in the beginning. Again, Strawberry Creek was beautiful, we just wish it had been where we knew we chose. It would definitely be preferable for them to advertise them separately!

Overall the cabin was good, however, Expedia did not have this cabin listed as an "off-site" property, so it was not walking distance to the town. I would recommend checking the Idllywild Inn website to confirm if the cabin is off-site.

Idyllwild Inn or Strawberry Creek Inn is cute and cozy and the room was comfortable. But please be aware that while the map may show the location as right in the heart of town, it is down the road on Hwy 243 about half a mile, which if you are planning to walk can add to timing and walking along a busy road.

Great stay at the Idyllwild Inn. Couldn't have been better. Especially enjoyed the home made pie we bought in the lobby. Fruit of The Forest - strawberry, rhubarb, blueberry, apple made by Lisa. Yum!

The staff at the front desk were super friendly and helpful. And you can get delicious pies there as a bonus! The place itself was very spacious with comfortable bedding. Would (will) go again.

This was the perfect place to stay while visiting my son for family weekend at Idyllwild Arts Academy. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable and the shower had great water pressure. The property has a place where you can sit outside and just enjoy your surroundings. As a bonus, they were selling homemade pies at the desk when I checked in. The French Apple was amazing!!!!

What a perfect stay. Staff was over the top excellent. Buy a pie in the office if you are lucky enough. Fell in love with the cabin and could have stayed forever. Rhank you!

We stayed at a sister property Strawberry Creek Inn. Nicely rennovated and clean. They have a stream with large pines and ferns next to the property that you follow along a hiking path to town . We really enjoyed that. We were given to voichers for free pint of beer or glass of wine with dinner at another Sister property and was informed we could use the pool and other activities there. We did go and have dinner there and was great and that propert was really nice. Will definatly come again. Alan Miller
