Absolute stunner of a find. I thought I was checking into a hotel and it was a full on resort with so many options. Pool, sports areas, meditation walk, cafe, church, restaurant, extras to purchase at the lobby—and I didn’t get a room but to my surprise a full on cabin with front deck and pet friendly. I told EVERYONE I knew about what a jaw dropping find this was. I can’t wait to return. Seems they often book groups, retreats, and weddings with entire areas dedicated to lodging larger parties. Absolutely awesome. You can drive to town, or I did walk there (the uphill return is exercise haha)

The grounds were very well kept and cared for, pool was great, game room was fun for the family. The mattress was excellent. The property was bigger than expected, and though buildings were sprawled out, everything was walkable. We will be staying here when we travel back.

Very well kept and made you truly feel lost in the woods. The property itself blew me away with his clean it was and felt a little like rocky mtn Forrest. The pickleball to the pool n game room so much fun, the food also was really good, we will be back next time with our kids.

Warmly welcomed. Somehow I missed that this was a resort. Had I realized I would have booked another night. Gorgeous pool, lots of diversions: pickleball, tennis, basketball, hiking trails, horse shoes even tetherball! Restaurant and bar on site. Our cabin was roomy and comfortable, the fridge and micro a plus! Loved the wooded setting and the porches offering some privacy arranged in the wooded setting. There’s more but you’ll just have to go and stay!

I don’t usually write reviews but this property deserves a fantastic review! It was quiet, serene, but at the same time, plenty of grounds to explore and activities to partake in. The on site restaurant called The Peak, had great service, food and drinks. I believe our stay would be excellent any time of the year! We are looking forward to our frequent return!!! Thank you!

Lovely gem in Idyllwild. The property is beautiful, well maintained, in the trees and a mile from the town and many restaurants. It has all the amenities one or a family could want and a nice restaurant onsite. The price was fair and I would definitely stay here again!

Honestly this place is pretty amazing. As a fully sufficient property, there is so much to do: on site delicious dining, sports, a gym, walking trails, fire pits, etc. It is only a 5 minute drive into the heart of Idyllwild. The cabin seems to be recently renovated, very clean and comfortable. Modern heating/cooling system as well as a gas powered fireplace, and the king bed was very comfortable. The room was spacious and well put together. My only downside was that our cabin shared one wall with our neighbors, and the walls are pretty thin. I think some insulation or sound proofing would really help. I also was surprised that, while there was a beautiful pool, there was no hot tub. I actually thought I read there was one but I guess not. On a day after hiking, soaking in a hot tub was something I would have really enjoyed. I will definitely be back and I'll just make sure to book one of the stand alone cabins next time.

We loved the quaint little cabin rooms with bunk beds. The wall in kinda thin with the other cabin room sharing the unit. Still was so nice. Comfy bed, nice patio area. The common areas were always well maintained, except the rec room. The pool table and other equipment seems dated and abused. Overall we loved it and we're going back.

No toilet paper whatsoever in the room. Called several times and no answer. Had to visit the office next morning to pick it up. Also explained that the room was covered in dog or cat hair. My son sneezed way too much as a result. I explained both of these issues to the front desk as I was leaving and she couldn't have cared one bit. Beautiful setting but really lacking in customer service and attention to detail.

This is our second time staying at this property. The room was great and very comfortable overall. However, I did want to mention two concerns. First, there was food left in the refrigerator that wasn’t ours, and second, there was a noticeable huge blue stain running from the shower handle down to the shower floor. These two issues made me question whether the room had been thoroughly cleaned before our stay.

I can’t say it was a horrible hotel. It looks clean, towels are clean too. It just small things that upset me 1. The only streaming app on TV is YouTube and you can’t download others. 2. AC buttons don’t work well, you have to hard push them. 3. No fireplace or bbq grill - I should check it upfront, but based on experience to stay at other hotels in idyllwild I thought they have it. So it’s more like point for grow than complain from my side

The property was great. We stayed in the Family Cabin (only one available-booked late) that was in a duplex. Really nice. Clean, big front porch, table, chairs, microwave, little fridge etc. Property grounds were amazing. So much to do like swim, pickleball, basketball, walking, etc. The Peak Restaurant was amazing. Food was really good. Drinks were good. Staff was great. I only have 1 complaint out of the entire stay: The shower was way too small. Ladies, make sure you come hair free because you can't move in the shower and there is no way to shave. The shower is smaller than the shower in our camping trailer. No joke. They should've put the shower head on the other wall to make it bigger. It's tiny. The showers in the duplexes are anyhow. Not sure how the showers are in the hotel rooms or other places to stay on the property.

We stayed in a Queen suite, #8. The room was quite small so the queen bed was placed up against the wall on one side preventing someone from getting in and out of bed on that side. We ended up moving the bed away from the wall so that my wife or I could get out of bed. Otherwise, the room was clean. No view of the mountains as was stated on the website.

Gorgeous property amazing for big groups and family reunions. Downside is walls are paper thin and a couple above us was loudly intimate through the night and we had children in our room below us. No one was available at the front desk to help keep them quiet so we just didn’t sleep well and it’s super uncomfortable for what felt like a family friendly spot. Staff offered a late checkout but we were already planning to leave at original checkout time so we didn’t accept that offer to make things right. The resort has a lot of potential if they upgrade the customer experience.

I love this property. I love the updated facilities and how beautiful everything is. My ONLY issue with this place is the beds. Unfortunately, SOME of the rooms have outdated beds that are terribly sunken in and painfully uncomfortable. Everything else is amazing.

Really liked this property except one minor detail. LIGHT. The room is spacious, cute, extra room with bunk beds, clean and straightforward. Light came through the room and the newly-renovated space lacked black out curtains and proper window coverings. We DID NOT SLEEP WELL due to the issue of LIGHT.

Friendly staff at deck in and the room was comfortable. The only downside is that the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything and everyone in the rooms next to you. If I stay here again I’d definitely book a cabin that didn’t share walls with any other units.

Property was fine we could not turn on the shower called front desk someone came and she called maintenance said be here in like 15 minutes but it was almost an hr had to call again he was able to turn on the shower and admitted there is a problem with it well it should of been fixed before anyone else checked into the room the food at peaks restaurant was not that great nor the service they was a bit strange and confused...they made us sign for pool towels so I guess people will not steal them but we went to the pool there was a whole box of them there that anyone could take lol the bed was very firm and uncomfortable the small studio units share a common wall and we can here the guy in the other unit snoring all night

The grounds of Tahquitz Pines are absolutely stunning. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. However, the most standout part of this visit was the customer service. We ended up near some noisy neighbors and they were so accommodating and were able to relocate us. We felt very taken care of and it meant a lot because it was our anniversary weekend. I would highly recommend Tahquitz Pines to anyone staying in Idyllwild!

The location is very lovely and dog-friendly, with a beautifully manicured landscape. The property is well-maintained, and the restaurant on-site offers delicious food, so there's no need to leave the resort. However, one downside was that we arrived in town early and requested an early check-in, which was not available. In fact, even at the normal check-in time of 3 PM, our room was still not ready. It was finally available 45 minutes later, around 4:15 PM, allowing us to change and enjoy the pool before the sun went down.

The property is very nice. Keep in mind that your cabin may not look anything like what the pictures show. The set up for our two bedroom cabin was awkward but still nice. Check in was the only issue, we got there 8 minutes early and the room wasn’t ready yet, which ok I was a few minutes early, but they couldn’t give me a time frame for the room to be ready. So I didn’t know if I should leave or wait somewhere on the property. They called around 30 minutes later telling me the room was ready. So we went back to check in they told me where the cabin was, we go to the cabin and they’re still cleaning it. So we waited on the little patio for a few more minutes. Staff was friendly but could have handled the room not being ready a little better. Like giving me an estimate for how much longer so I know if I should go back in to town or wait on the property. Also the room actually being done when the guest gets to it. Y

The good : Nestled beneath a mountain peak, the location was great. The not so good : We arrived after dusk, and faced a challenge locating our unit - we had to walk up close to each building and shine a light to read the unit numbers … Suggestion : Each building & unit should be clearly marked with larger and more visible signage - and preferably kept lit at night.

It would be amazing in the future if their restaurant accommodated breakfast or had some kind of continental breakfast or good coffee. The coffee in the rooms was not good. Also, we had a horrific sewer gas smell coming out of our bathroom. Other than those things, the state was great and I would recommend it.

Pros: Overall we loved our stay at this resort. The property is nice to walk around. They have lots of amenities such as a gym, pool, basketball, tennis, and even tether ball courts. Our room had a viewing balcony with a great view of the trees and wooded areas. The restaurant was very fairly priced. The portions were big and the food was great. The wait staff was top notch and they have dog seating areas. The location is convenient to get to the local town and hiking trails. Cons: I wish I could rate this place perfectly, but our room was advertised as having a queen bed. The bed was not a queen. Twin at best. It was really small. For some reason room service didn't service our room after our first night.

Beautiful location and grounds, well done updating and aesthetics. Check-in staff was wonderful. Peaceful outside. A really great place for kids and dogs too. The grounds have everything from pool to pickle ball. The restaurant was jaw dropping awful. From service to food. Inedible- we ended up not eating it. It seemed like it was everyone’s first day on a job ever. It was funny if it wasn’t expensive. We stayed in a really cute block of 3 cabins. So pretty, but we did not stay our second night. We went home to get some sleep! The walls were so thin they rattled anytime a neighbor moved, and a snorer kept us up. And the mattress -was something else. Some may love it but it felt like a foam mattress so soft I couldn’t get out of the hole in the middle! And I am small. But, all that being said, it was incredibly inexpensive, gorgeous grounds with a very friendly staff. Great for retreats or big families, with incredible views of the mountains.

We loved this place! It was so beautiful, mostly quiet, cozy and super comfortable. We brought our 13 and 10 y/o grandsons and they loved it also. We spent a lot of time in the rec room and by the fireplace in our cabin as the weather was colder than expected and we actually had snow 2 days in a row. We will try to come back in the summer to enjoy more of the outdoor facilities and do more hiking. The on-site restaurant - The Peak is very nice also but had limited hours due to slow business and we weren't able to dine there as much as we hoped. However, that did allow us to go into the little village area and try some of the restaurants there and they were all great!

Lovely room but the hair dryer plug in the bathroom was non operational. There was no water when you turned on the water faucet in the shower. Would have liked to have been able to turn off the outside porch light to eliminate light coming through the closed blinds at night. But the food in the restaurant was delicious!

Love this resort! Very laid back and friendly. Beautiful grounds in the mountains. Raul at the Pines restaurant is AWESOME! We had a French dip with fries and have had the fish. Food is really good!
