The check-in process was smooth. However, upon arrival, found out the pool was not accessible during maintenance, only one of two elevators into the room, and there were ants in the room the bathroom moldings were decaying.

Outside trash can wear over flowing. Don't know if they forgot or didn't want to do pick up. The hallways are due for carpet cleaning. I'm not sure if the second floor is the only floor that has one washer and one dryer. The washer and dryer works great just think they should have more than one each

The property felt like it had been neglected. The wipes were empty, as were teh towels in the gym. The gym mats were really dirty. They delivered pillow cases without pillow cases. Several outlets in the room were loose and flimsy, and hence did not charge. The frig was barley cold. Oh and the pool was closed. Also right IN FRONT on the freeway.

The staff is great, they are really helpful and I worked with my concerns. I booked a balcony and just had a window that didnt open to a patio (that I guess was considered a balcony). They were able to move me to a bigger room that was more accomodating. The showers had good water pressure, beds were comfy, pool with towels provided a plus. Common areas were kept up. Fire pit is great for large parties to hangout.1 washer and 1 dryer. Location is great close to freeway and stores. Breakfast for a fee. I would still stay here again. Areas for improvement. There is no microwave in the rooms only one in the lobby which was a little dirty, Kind of inconvenient. I wish they had bigger trash cans in the rooms, throw away 2 or 3-16oz bottles and your trash is full :/ again not a huge deal but it is annoying. They did come and get the trash if requested so that was good.also gave us extra room towels when requested. One thing that I also thought needed to change was the carpet on the first floor. It was definately needing some love, it looked pretty dingy. They do allow dogs, so it smelled of wet dog in certain parts of the hall. The gym also needs some love. They dont have cameras in the gym so im guessing thats how they are missing weights, they had 1 set of 45lbs and one 40lb and a 5lbs set. a full rack, With only those weights! a little disappointing because the gym area is nice. more cushioned gym mats would be nic. The ones in there were paper thin. Also no towels in the gym.

Place look like they try to renovate. Carpet smelled a bit. Otherwise room was clean. Parking is $10 a night. No security walking around though. Park at you own risjk, so why the parking fee? Also, restaurant closed. They offer continental break but you have to pay for coffee and danishes. All over priced, $3 to $7 range. You know the phrase “Nickel and Dime you”? That’s what you get if you stay here. Good luck, won’t come back again, sorry. P.S. - parking is difficult to get to. Handicap parking especially, front entrance and no parking and once you walk you have to walk quite a distance. One more thing, NO directional signs anywhere. Easy to get lost inside building.

The photos show the room had a loveseat. When I got to the room it was only a small single chair. The balcony was filthy and had no chair to sit on, so I couldn’t use the balcony at all. On day 2 the 2nd elevator broke and was not functional the rest of the stay.

The carpet needs to be changed or cleaned. The bathroom baseboards are filthy dirty. There must’ve had a pipe leak the rooms had a sewage stench. Overall would never stay again but price reflects - if you don’t want to spend $500 a night at the Marriot.

Staff were okay, kinda short during interactions. The probably condition was good, not great. Cleanliness was awful. There was dried up spilled coffee on the counter, looks like the counters in the room weren’t wiped down. There was a wet sticky spot on the carpet next to the bed. I wiped my foot that stepped in the wet spot with some wipes I brought and it came out orange/brown. My other foot nothing came out. The room’s interior looks like something from the late 90s to early 00s. Not a big fan of the TV placement. Overall experience is a generous 4 stars

The minute I walked into the lobby I should have known! It smelled terrible. We had to check in however as we were headed to an event. The carpet in the room was so dirty it made our feet black. The tub did not drain while showering, so nothing like 3”of dirty water on your feet. Gross! We were supposed to stay 3 nights but checked out after 1 night. Told the desk the day we checked it wasn’t go to work out for us. The lady was very kind and said to contact Expedia and it would be no problem.

Our room had a strong sewage smell and seemed to be coming from the bathroom tub or toilet that would not go away. Hotel front desk staff said they could not get us into another room because they were booked and only offered to spray the room with air freshener, which I already did, and this was not helpful as the smell was so strong. We ended up having to sleep with this smell throughout our stay and it was a terrible experience.

This place was filthy dirty! No housekeeping unless you “ order it”and even then you just get new towels and your trash taken out. There were blood stains on the carpet and my shower curtain. I asked them to change it out and they didn’t do anything.

Place wasnt clean, stains all over the floors, blood stains on the bedding. Showers were dirty and had mols. Shower curtain lining looked to have been used like a kleenex. Overall, place is disgusting. Cops and or ambulances were there every night we were there. Never have I left a hotel early - I left 3 days early.

Absolutely Disgusting – Worst Hotel Stay I’ve Ever Had I have never stayed at a hotel this dirty. From the moment I walked in, I was appalled. The hallways had heavily stained carpets, smelled like dog pee, and visible trash — it looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed or cleaned in years. The condition of our room was no better. The carpet was filthy, with visible food crumbs, pieces of what looked like beef jerky, and even dog food. It was clear it hadn’t been vacuumed before our arrival. The bathroom smelled awful, especially at night, and the tub had rust spots and grime. Completely unacceptable. Most of the staff seemed unapproachable and generally unhappy to be there. The only bright spot was Nehat, the Front Desk Supervisor. She was kind, professional, and actually seemed to care about guests — a rare glimmer of hope in an otherwise miserable experience. I truly wish I could share pictures so people could see just how bad it was. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We arrived at 2 to see if the room was available and it wasn’t. Not a big deal checking is at 4. We arrived back at 4:15-4:30. Room was not ready and we were told that they had upgraded us to a suite. However room was not ready but will be ready momentarily. We checked again at 5 still not ready. Still not ready at 5:30 We told then we have an event to go to and they just smiled. We had been in our clothes since the morning and driven from Las Vegas with stops on the way. We had to go to our event in the clothes we were in all day. Rather embarrassing. I had actually paid to get a high floor as they texted me asking if would like to upgrade to a high floor???? I say yes. High floor was great. Got to see the car park and the free way. What a coup. The morning lady at the reception was the same lady that was making breakfast for everyone so everything was so slow. The bath had rust around the faucets and dirt in the bottom of it. Was not a pleasant stay at all. Would not recommend any one stay there.

The hallway carpet was dirty and never got cleaned during our four day stay. The shower pressure was weak. The bed was comfortable. The tv was outdated and not many channels to watch. The fridge was small. The carpet in the room smelled like it’s been awhile since someone cleaned it. This hotel needs to be remodeled.

The room is very clean and seems in new condition. The staff was very accommodating. The restaurant is no longer however the coffee bar was nice. The outdoor seating/pool area is nice. There are no USB ports in the rooms. The gym is in sad shape- 5 non matching dumbbells. The location is right off the freeway so it is noisy but it is a short walk to eating places. The price was affordable.

1. Not enough staff to man the front desk and run the cafe at the same time. People had to wait over 20 minutes to check in or out or to get breakfast. 2. When leaving at 8 am I asked that my room be touched up. I returned at 5 and the room had not been touched. I called the front desk and asked again, they said the maid would be right up2 hours later still no maid. I could never recommend your hotel.

We arrived at the check in time but the attendant said the room was not clean yet. We went out to our car and waited nearly an hour. When we went back to check in there was a very long line and only one attendant. This resulted in us not being able to get in to the room until nearly 2 hours after check in time which was already 4pm. Later when we asked for an additional pillow and extra sheet, the front desk clerk said he would check if he could get them. We didn’t hear back from him the rest of the night.

We were told while checking in that it’s $10 a day parking to park on property, which when I went to show them that it’s not on their website, the printed out and showed me the very small obscure spot that it’s stated. Which is honestly just ridiculous. Then we got to our room and the bathroom had loose hairs all over the floor and the tub was so dark and dirty. They only come every 7th day to clean (pathetic) and when we requested towels at 9am they weren’t brought to our room until 8:30pm after multiple calls downstairs. The staff wasn’t super friendly, the hotel is right off the highway and the hotel isn’t super clean. I honestly will never be staying here again.

Property is well located and convenient for travel. Staff is friendly and efficient! My room was clean and well appointed. The exterior entrance is in need of care and somewhat unkept. The parking is on either side of the entrance and not visible to staff allowing things to go on in the parking lot. There were some questionable people in the parking areas at different times of the day and night. Because of the noise from the freeway, that would drown out any call for help, and lack of visibility created a safety concern for me. I believe it would be wise to increase security around the building. It was a good stay…just needs some attention!

I was pleasantly surprised by the rooms and the staff at this Sonesta Select property. I liked the functionality of the furniture in the room. Also the young woman at the desk on Friday and Saturday mornings was very efficient and friendly (sorry I don't know her name to commend her)

This is a party hotel. The hall carpets are filthy because they allow crowds of people to hang out in the halls and party. We had an early flight the next day and couldn’t sleep because there was a party going on in the room nextdoor, sounded like there were 50 people yelling, jumping off beds, breaking things etc..We called the front desk and the girl laughed and said she would call them. They didn’t stop so we called her back and she answered and hung up three times on us. Finally, she answered. I told her that they are not stopping. She said she would call them again. I said they can’t hear a phone call, so she said she would send up security as she was giggling about the situation. Not sure if she called security because they were loud for about another hour. Terrible experience. Very unprofessional and unacceptable the way the employee handled the situation.

Staff is top-notch customer centric! Very warm & engaging, truly understands hospitality. Property is in an excellent location, with an abundance of excellent food very close by. Both the beach & Spectrum are a short drive. Property checks all the right boxes in terms of value, location, customer service, and cleanliness. Great option for the savvy traveler!

True hospitality! This is a great property with 5 star service all around. Location is excellent with an abundance of great dining options close by, easy access to the beach & Irvine Spectrum. This hotel is a hidden gem for the value-oriented traveler who appreciates a clean & hospitable experience.

Room was nice and clean. Hotel is located in a goos location for freeway, shops, restaurantes, and beaches. Brealfast coupons dont get you much for breakfast. The front desk girl was also the person who got our breakfaat food. We askex doe an eztra pillow and never got it.

Breakfast was like a Starbucks and few places to sit down and eat, so not really functionable. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Room was clean and nice, but lacked a safety box which is very important to include in the room. Well located to lots of restaurants and places to visit.

I had stayed at this hotel about 15 years ago when I lived in the area and was excited to visit it again. I was disappointed to see how much the property had fallen. The highway noise is horrible. I had to ask to transfer rooms and even being at the back of the building you could still hear motorcycles from the freeway. The breakfast we paid for was premade, packaged muffins, fruit cups, yogurt, and juice or coffee. They never seem to have any eggs or anything substantial as an option. Except the friend I was traveling with got a breakfast sandwich our last morning because they didn’t have anything else to offer him. The walls are thin, so if somebody has an animal or a child, you hear it. Some coyotes walked through the property at 2 o’clock in the morning and started screaming and woke me up. I’m just really disappointed at the cost of this trip versus the level of satisfaction, I felt with my stay. :/ Wouldn’t recommend it again and probably won’t be back.

Unfortunately, there was no food or beverage service and there isn't anything in walking distance. It didn't look like it was going to be up and running any time soon, so I am not sure what the story is. The staff was great and the bedrooms were comfortable and clean. Other than that, no issues.

Good clean place. The listing did not make CLEAR that parking is an extra $10/night. What they call a restaurant (open only for breakfast) is the free breakfast at other hotels except they charge you for it.
