We have been returning to Ascott Suites over the years because of the property and the staff. There are many hotel options to choose from on the central coast of Morro Bay, but none finer than Ascott Suites.

The room was clean, except the balcony needs to be cleaned. The carpets in the halls need to be shampooed badly and the elevator needs to be wiped down. The staff are great. Very friendly. Something not right about the shower valve. Had a hard time getting in the right spot to get good flow out of the shower head. Also, hard to maintain temperature also.

AVOID ROOM 311! (Early July 2026) If you arrive after 10pm, you will be checked in remotely. I was checked in by someone in San Francisco. When we got to the room, my daughter went to take a shower but the shower faucet fell off the wall from the water pressure and the water didn’t go up to the shower head and she had to take a bath instead. The remote checkin person was no help at all and couldn’t help us switch rooms. In addition, the deadbolt to the balcony didn’t work and although the lady at the front desk the next morning said the lock worked on the door handle the lock seemed very flimsy. Lastly the bed was not very comfortable. It felt like a really old and hard mattress with a thin pad thrown on top. The response to my email came after I had already checked out. The pluses were a really good location, plenty of street parking if you were too late to grab a space in the lot, and a decent breakfast. Arrive before 10pm if you stay here so you can work with someone in person if you have any issues. Too bad all the issues messed up our stay.

For ten years, this is our go to when we come to Morro Bay. We have tried other establishments to save money but still come back here. The full breakfast, covered parking, gorgeous rooms, soaking tub and location make it so worth it. We always get a balcony room or the tower room.
