Nice hotel. Rooms are a little dated but clean. The property offers a lot of activities for younger children. Pool areas are a little dated. The restaurant is good and the service was great, but there are not many menu options. Be prepared to accumulate another $90-100 in fees per night on top of what you pay Expedia (read the fine print). You will be charged a $40 resort fee taxes and $40-50 for parking, per night.

Good amenities and well kept landscape. 3 pools with hot tubs to choose from :) Really nice staff. Downside would be the hefty $40 self parking which is not even convenient- its about 1/4 mile away from some of the rooms! Most people have cars since this is So Cal so this is a bit of a sneaky way to make your room more expensive. Expedia doesn't disclose this. Also, if you plan on using the pullout couch, its VERY uncomfortable. They need new mattresses. Otherwise good hotel.

There were hundreds of ants all over our room and they got all in our luggage/bags. Ants crawling all over the door inside and outside of the room. The rooms were small and the property in general seemed outdated and unkempt.

The plug is broken, so the light doesn’t work on the bedside stand. You have to plug it into the alarm clock there’s spiderwebs and dust all in the van vents. The fart fan does not work you walk out of my room. It smells like sewage there is crumbs and crackers and dirtiness behind one of the dressers I am very disappointed

We stayed in room 432 and overall the room was ok but needs better carpet and for it to be installed with no gaps at the walls below the base board. I say this because I was checking behind the bed's head board & found a big spider I was trying to kill but it keep hiding in the crevice of the carpet and base board. I found some other spider webs behind the head boards so more attention should by placed to those areas. Also, the shower head needs updating and the curtains could provide better privacy. The AC mini split unit is so loud at times and the room door needs updating to prevent a draft from entering the room and allowing outside noise from easily entering the room. Oh yeah, FYI the slide opens at 10a and closes too early at 5p. The pool could be warmer, especially because the property is next to the coast and it can be slightly cool at times even during the summer. Would I stay here again, maybe but definitely in a different building within the property that's hopefully cleaner and nicer.

This is a very large and conveniently located property that needs a refresh. Dated decor, sidewalks and room furnishings. Our biggest issue was at check in - a rude male attendant that would not make eye contact with my wife who arrived fir our 4 night stay first - he would not check her in or even look at her when saying he could not help her - no solutions or conveniences were offered after she arrived at his station to here this - she had valet parked her car and had all of her luggage with her - no offer to accommodate - water - store her luggage - nothing all while staring at his computer screen. She asked him to speak to me on the phone and he would not take her phone to talk to me - unbelievable- rude and far below the standards I thought Hyatt was about. We have 4 more trips planned to Newport Beach planned before year end and we will not be staying at the Hyatt.

Was not happy with our stay. They put us in a handicap room which is not what we chose online. And the accessible room was much cheaper than the original room that we chose for our reservation. The front desk reception lady was rude and did not answer my question that I had asked before charging my credit card. She seemed very put out to help the customer. Our room was NOT as expected with how much we were charged for our room. The smell and cleanliness was extremely lacking especially being a Hyatt Regency hotel.

Check out process chaotic, out luggage cart got put way in storage, when asked Bell man to help he was very unkind and rude. When I mentioned to be treated properly he walked away talked to manager who ignored my concern. Finally after multiple requests we got out luggage cart and we started loading our own luggage in the cart. This place does not deserve to be called RESORT. Day before there were bugs crawling in the bath tub I had to bring to attention of front desk. I have pictures

The hotel is well located near to Newport Beach and the surrounding area. It’s also close to the freeways so you can get around the greater Los Angeles area. The room was large enough for a family of 4. We really enjoyed our stay here. The children loved the pools.

In addition to a great location in proximity of Newport Beach, the property itself had many amenities, excellent staff and excellent food options from grab and go to fine dining. It was great fun to see families playing chess and friends around the fire pits at night. I’ll stay again on business or pleasure.

Lovely grounds, nice pools. However, they are critically understaffed, particularly in the lobby bar. We went there Saturday around lunchtime for a snack and later for a late dinner and drinks. The only server both times was the same woman. That is unthinkable to me on a busy weekend. She was doing her best but that’s just not appropriate. The room looked a little dated, the security latch on the door was barely screwed in like someone had forced their way into the room previously. The TV kept shutting itself off. We checked to see if the sleep timer was on. It wasn’t. You’d have to turn the TV back on to the Mario Lopez hotel channel then try to find what you were watching. Frustrating. The room safe malfunctioned. They sent a guy up pretty quickly to fix it, but sheesh. Great location, but they need to try a little harder for the money.

One of my favorite hotels, due to the location, beautiful gardens and very dog friendly. But is it showing its wear.. I know hotels suffered a great deal in CA due to the horrible policies during COVID.. Hoping they will get caught up with a bit room renovations.. new carpet would be a good start. The staff was outstanding from the valet to check-in as well as bar/coffee bar staff. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and good at their jobs. The room had great space with a comfortable bed. We enjoy a jazz concert at the amphitheater. The venue was perfect for an outdoor concert.

The room was *okay* for the price. The room was very far from the main area and then when seeking breakfast, was told that breakfast wasn't included but it was pre-paid in the fee (cost over $50) and after that was sorted out, it took some doing to get it to go and had to return (from the very far room) to get utensils (room has no utensils). If people want to visit you at the hotel, it costs $12/hour to park. The resort fee is pricey. I didn't realize how much until after booking. The one good thing was the close proximity to the cemetery where a family funeral was being held. Not sure I'd book this hotel again.
