We booking of the hotel was great. We were not told that the resort fee and daily parking fee were not included. The hotel is in a great location. Down the street from the mall and close to all of our destinations. The only downside is that the vally service can get backed up. There are a lot of people that show up on the weekend. We waited almost 20 mins on a few occasions to get the car. Other then that, you will enjoy the hitel.

From check-in to check-out, the Pendry team was incredibly hospitable. Great location across from Fashion Island. The ability to walk to restaurants and shops was convenient. Another bonus of this property was their capability to check out a courtesy vehicle. Got to take it out and run a few errands having to get an Uber to each location would have been a hassle. Amenities were great. The gym was fully equipped and space was large enough so you don’t feel crowded. Also has an indoor outdoor feature in case you’re looking for fresh air.

Room was great. Bed very comfortable. Modern shower with good water pressure. Towels were soft. But above all those fantastic items, was the service. Everyone very nice, kind, hospitable and professional. This place is an A Plus. The one thing you should know, the bar downstairs in the lobby turns into a nightclub around midnight and is absolute chaos with people, drinks, loud music everywhere. We could barely hear it from our room on the 2nd floor but I pity the clean up crew each morning.

The staff were all amazing, from the front desk to the employees at the beautiful lobby bar to the bell desk. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. The holiday decor was nice as well. This is a great location because you can walk to so many places from the hotel. The pool area is smaller, so book your cabana or get your beds earlier. Enjoy!

We loved staying at the Pendry this past March of 2024. Our room was spacious, very well appointed, quiet, and luxurious. No expsnes or amenities were spared in any way! The gym was top notch, hi tech and fully loaded with everything you'd pexpect, plus more. The staff was incredibly attentive and professional- Emily stood out to us at breakfast time at Bar Pendry. We look forward to staying at the Pendry once again in two month's time.

hotel itself and the location are amazing. service stinks - paid for 3 ppl in the room for 5 days and each day we get 2 towels and have to call down every day for more towels. valet is a mess...plenty of people standing around but not organized and takes forever to get your car. this morning 7:15 we texted for the car...we go down and finally at 7:35 i ask the guy and he finally looks at the tablet for the text. just training...just missing good training.

The staff was hostile and not helpful when I asked them questions. The room wasn’t as clean as I had expected. The hotel vibe was off. Either the hotel doesn’t suit the people or the people don’t suit the hotel. It’s just a hotel by a mall but it pretends like it’s a trendy upscale place. Really disappointed and overall disgusted by the Pendry. Wouldn’t recommend it for an event, out of town trip or a staycation. Lame.

The property was dirty. I was at the pool and I stepped on him and another mess. I complained to get it cleaned up and no one listed. Then the elevator shut down so we couldn’t get to our floor. No one cared. This is an expensive property. We will be staying at the VEA from now on.

We user to stay when it was Island Hotel and it had great amenities like an upstairs club. The amenities have changed, the club is no longer there. The fitness center has moved and is no longer as nice as it was. Service in the room was not good. Every day something was missing and we had to call and wait, towels, coffee, ice bucket etc. Outside the pool chairs were dirty. We were not able to get an upgrade or any VIP service. Still an okay place to stay, but not as good as it used to be. Parking is very expensive with $65 a night.

This is a very clean, beautiful hotel. The pool area is exceptionally nice. I really enjoyed my stay. The staff was very accommodating. My only issue was my room was on the 5th floor directly above the valet parking area. Car alarms were going off during the night repeatedly and sometimes the noise of revving engines. This was very noisy and interrupted my sleep. When I called to alert the staff, they offered to move me to another room, but it was 11:30 p.m. and I was in bed. I was then offered ear plugs, but I don't sleep with ear plugs. I don't like the way they feel.

Love the location but the room we had was underwhelming and outdated. The door to our room had previously been kicked in and was not fixed so it could have easily been broken into, you could literally see into the room it would not shut correctly. The AC didn’t seem to be working correctly, it said it was 64 but it was probably closer to 72-74. I had high hopes for the hotel and most likely wouldn’t stay there again.

The hotel is nice overall but the room gets loud noises from the parties going on all night. I paid for a room upgrade so that we are not facing the side of the hotel that the party is going on. It’s 2am currently and the party is still going on and we are all awake because of the loud noise happening at the valet and cars leaving the party. I do not think that we will stay here again unless there is a way to avoid this noise.

Stayed here a few times since the remodel and looks absolutely stunning. Service is also great and the restaurant is convenient and the food is really good. Love the convenience to fashion island. Only complaint is the couch that is supposed to be usable as a fold out is the absolute worst foldout ever. Completely useless and horrifically uncomfortable!!!!

We had such a special stay here for our honeymoon and the staff went out their way to celebrate that. It’s a beautiful hotel, spacious, clean and luxurious rooms and easy valet parking on arrival. Wonderful hotel and look forward to going back.

I arrived at the hotel around 11am and did not expect to get a room until 3-4pm, but my room was ready so I could check in and get settled right away. Pendry also listened to my request of having a room on the higher floors and put me on floor 17. The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. I have absolutely nothing to complain about, my stay was great and I cannot see myself choosing any other hotel if I go back to Newport Beach!

The staff are front desk displayed the act of racism. We are a family from Singapore, slightly tanned skin and they were not warm and friendly at all. Rather curt I must add. However, when it came to Caucasian guests, you can fee the difference. There was a display of friendliness. The only front desk person that was friendly was an Asian girl when we checked out. Ben from the porter/bag service was really nice and warm. The other thing is we requested for a late check-out for at least 2.30 pm as our flight back to Singapore would be a very long one. We were told that for every hour after noon is $100 chargeable and there was no flexibility. Hence, if we wanted to 3 pm there would be additional charge of $300. With that, I can top up for a bit more and stay an additional night. I can understand if I ask for like 5 pm or so. We have stayed in bigger brands like Park Hyatt, The Ritz and Langham and they all have shown their appreciation for their guests by being flexible and acommodating. It is gestures like that, that makes guests feel appreciated and will spread the word and come back to stay. Conclusion, a hotel that displays racism and not appreciative of its guests. Not choosing Pendry ever again. It is a pity cause it is a well design, aesthetically pleasing hotel with all the right modern contemporary touches and very well located too.

The security guy knocked on our door said we were too loud as we had a friend couple stopped by after Pendry bar. It is okay to tell us keep volume down but his attitude was like we were teenagers and party in the room. He didnt tell us with polite attitude but very rude.

The hotel was beautiful however, when we ordered drinks they were upgraded to top shelf without our permission/ knowledge. Friday night was a nice, quiet and elegant evening. Then came Saturday night! The bar was a club scene with tons of people (not staying at hotel) Fire department and police as the crowd was large and one person taken to the hospital with alcohol poisoning. Unless, that’s your scene, you might want to consider somewhere else.

Our stay at the Pendry was amazing. Couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. The entire staff was great, especially Eric, Gen and Deven. My family of 6 thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality from these 3. They went above and beyond from beginning to end - catering to all requests. Thank you Eric, Gen and Deven for taking care of my kids, my wife and myself the entire weekend. The Pendry is in great hands with you three. We will be back soon!
