Enjoyed a pleasant 4- night stay at VEA during the Christmas season. This Marriott property in Newport Beach, which we stayed before in 2018, is much improved following a major renovation… We were always warmly greeted by the valet staff, front desk professionals & housekeepers. Kudos to the following VEA employees who made our stay a wonderful experience: Edward @ check-in, Rachel @ check-out, Tiffany Beau Danny Jake Rashaan Grant @ parking valet A few suggestions include providing in room slippers & personal toiletries, and consider lowering the very pricey $60 daily charge for valet parking (no self park option on-site)! Will certainly consider VEA again on our next family visit in Newport area.

Overall experience was ok. We stayed on the convention center side which was a bit of a walk to the restaurant and facilities. In addition, pool was reserved for a private party so it was unavailable for use.

This is my favorite hotel in Newport. The staff go above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay. They really make this hotel. The rooms are clean and bed comfy. The pool is great with a beautiful views.

The pool and view from the pool were amazing. The room was excellent and service from the front desk was ideal. Fitness center was excellent as was the restaurant and bar areas. Overall I would definitely make a point of staying again. I would suggest charging stations for customers like myself with hybrid/plug-in vehicles.

Everything about it is great. Bar and pool close pretty early though and valet and resort fee is very pricey. You’d think it’s already part of the nightly rate but that’s how most hotels get you now.

Awesome stay. The staff at the front desk went out of their way to get me into a nice room with a view of the ocean. The room was a good size and very clean, and looks like it was newly upgraded (I stayed in the sky tower). I ate at the restaurant late in the evening and the food was good.

We had an amazing stay at VEA. Excellent service, the staff was amazing. Our room was very clean and the property was gorgeous! Would definitely go back! Strongly suggest taking in the sunset on the sunset lawn next to the fire pit!

Property needs updated. The pool and outdoor pool were beautiful. Our room was dirty with crumbs all over the floor, so housekeeping had to come clean. Needs updated badly and the cleanliness was awful in rooms

Our room was not clean. Hair in the bed, feces in the toilet, urine on the toilet, hair in the glass located in the bathroom and pubic hair on the phone. We requested our room be cleaned while we stepped out for dinner,when returned only the toilet was cleaned but no linens changed and pubic hair still on the phone. They did move us but to a smaller room.

The elevators were very far away. We overlooked the roof of the hotel. The light that goes on automatically in the bathroom is not enjoyable in the middle of the night. The water pressure in the shower is extremely light.

Valet, restaurant and bar, excellent service but on day of checkout, we waited over 25 minutes in our room for a bellman. Called front desk, NO answer. I walked down to the front desk no one was in the lobby, 2 checkout individuals stand there and ALL the bell carts sitting there. When I told them they FINALLY got someone. Not sure what their problem was but no sure if we’ll return. Too many choices nearby.

Lisa the manager on duty is first class! The staff at check-in top shelf! The vibe and decor of the hotel is California Chic at its best. A mixture of elegant, yet casual comfort with a coastal vibe. The valet team are so courteous and polite. I give full credit to the the operations manager Lisa for running a great operation. The pool are and the views are stunning and the hotel is directly across from Fashion Island with so many dining and shopping options. Highly recommend!!!!

Molly at check in, was very friendly and very helpful. Our concern is with valet parking; they ignored us; we left our car in front of the hotel but still no one asked if we needed help. Finally, after several minutes, we had to snag someone and ask for service.

Went for a girls weekend over Labor Day and had the most relaxing, wellness and lovely weekend. Staff and service was great~ truly went out of their way to keep us smiling- Betsy at the front desk (super nice), Anthony at the Pool Lounge area (super accomodating and friendly), Christina provided friendly lounge bar service, and so much more. It really made our quality self care weekend the most enjoyable (we both have kiddos, and this was surely relax free time for us!). Thanks VEA.

The hotel is very nice and clean. The staff are not attentive poolside and at the restaurant. We asked 3 different waiters for menus to order poolside. The only two staff that were exceptional were service were Rachel from housekeeping and Shiela.
