Lovely hotel with not enough staff. It took 1/2 hour to get a vehicle from valet. Our bags were never picked up so we had to get our car and put our suitcases in our car ourselves. Good in Oak Room was reheated so a bit dry. Grounds are beautiful and rooms excellent. Golf course lovely.

The property is beautiful (even despite the rain), but several things (cafe/market, parts of spa) were being renovated. Room lacked tub and double sinks and minimal storage options for clothing - expected more for the very high price point. Stayed here several times over the years and prices are way up and no longer aligned with the quality. Also no Expedia VIP upgrade because resort allegedly sold out, which didn’t seem accurate based on number of patrons we saw while there.

Parking is awful. We paid for the valet parking but it took forever for them to bring our car each time we needed it. The shuttle service to go around the property is terrible even after asking much in advance. I had a knee injury and it still didn’t matter to them to provide shuttle on time. Check-in and check-out lines were so long. They need to staff properly if they have any big conference coming up. The property is beautiful but I don’t think it managed that well.

This is a lovely resort and I especially enjoyed our comfortable room, the friendliness of the staff, excellent dining options and the grounds are lovely. There's a nice gym too and multiple pools. Two things that were annoying were #1) they closed the nicest adult pool, which was very close to our room and very convenient, because some corporation rented it out for two days. That was very lame and no one warned us either. So we only got to use the pool for one of the days we stayed there. The other adult pool definitely wasn't as nice and there was a shortage of seats there because the main adult pool was closed. #2 ) they have shuttles to drive you to various parts of the resort but multiple times, the shuttle went right past me sitting at the stop because they didn't even look to see that I was there waiting for it. That was odd. the resort isn't that spread out so it's also easy to walk but I found it very strange and annoying. Another thing that expedia probably doesn't tell you (at least I didn't remember it) is that you have to pay an overnight parking fee of $40 per day, even if you self-park. There really is no other option for parking nearby if you don't pay the $40/day. Self parking is pretty easy. There are a bunch of good restaurants in town - we took free bikes from the resort into town and had a nice breakfast at the Dutchess. We had dinner there one night and I didn't like it that much for dinner. We also dined at Rory's place which was excellent. Have fun!

Ojai valley Inn never disappoints. The service is top notch, the grounds are beautiful. They cater to your furry friend too although we did not bring ours this time. Brought our road bikes and felt secure leaving them in valet with the car. The spa pool is so relaxing and the cafe makes delicious drinks and bites. The Oak was a relaxed and delicious meal. Town is a short walk away to explore additional restaurants too.

Beautiful view, nice property, with golf & tennis, family friendly, but then you see toddlers with diaper in the pool as well as big inflatables. For dining, since we didn't have a reservation, we had to wait 45min to be seated, because there were not any other dining option open at the hotel; For a 5 star "luxury" hotel, we expected for hotel guests to have priority over outside guests or at least for the hotel to have bigger restaurants. The other restaurant was a pub. The food was above average. For breakfast, the bacon I ordered was dry and probably sitting in the kitchen for a bit.

We enjoyed staying in the shangrila rooms which are very luxurious and well appointed. Very comfortable and worth the cost. Only suggestion would be to have the pool music that filters above toward this bank of rooms turned off by 6 or 7pm. Very loud and noisy. Otherwise a magnificent stay.

-the pixie pool was too crowded with kids AND the huge floats that are allowed -people were wearing “MAGA” apparel -when I booked the “shangri-la” room I assumed it would be in the shangri-la building so I could be close to the pool with my kids but we were in Los Parsees, way too far and when I asked to be moved the hotel couldn’t accommodate -I stayed for three days and when I checked in I was told that my EV car would be charged. Upon checking out, after three full days my car was not charged and I had to stop at a charging station on the edge of town. -overall not a relaxing or positive experience, sadly will be our last visit to OVI for a while

It did not meet our high expectations this time. Our room was too close to the kids pool with lots of noise There a big spider web in the closet. The scale’s battery was dead. Fire alarm went off at 3:00 AM and kept going for over 20 minutes. Food was great and the property is beautiful as always.

though the ground and the room at a glance is beautiful and comfortable, there were lots of maintenance and structure issues. first, there were some hairs left on the tubs and sink in the bathroom also dirt on the carpet. 2. patio is really lovely but the door to the next room was broken and it was easily accessed from other rooms. 3. you can hear so much noise from upstairs. our relaxing mini trip was not very relaxing. too bad we enjoyed public spaces.

Great place with a lot of activities, even though we were not there to golf. Staff was great. Exotic bugs would find their way into our chalet. Expect markups in prices for everything in the complex, and daily parking surcharges, even though this place is not exactly far away from the city.

We were given an upgraded room , but felt we would have been better in a non upgrade. Room 703 felt like it had been squeezed out of some extra space available. The patio was entirely closed in to 5 feet high and there was no comfortable seating inside the room at all

We stayed here for two nights, and I would have to say that we left somewhat disappointed with our experience. The biggest issue was the staff, which was simply not up to par for a hotel charging around $1,000 per night. The valet parking staff were all teenage boys and acted accordingly. One time my girlfriend called for a golf cart three times (you need one to get around the resort), and it never turned up. The rooms were up-to-date and nicely appointed (terrific large bathtub), but the hallways were downright shabby. When you spend a fortune (as I’m sure they did) refurbishing the rooms, wouldn’t you want to make the hallways look attractive, and not like the hallways in a Holiday Inn? Finally, my girlfriend called to make an appointment at the spa for a facial the next day, but had to cancel an hour later. The girl at the spa very rudely told her that we would not be reimbursed because she called to cancel 23 hours before the appointment…one hour past the deadline. My girlfriend is not the type to make a fuss, but was so angry she insisted on speaking to the general manager, who (after a bit of hesitation) refunded our money. In short, not the type of customer service you expect from a true 5 star hotel.

Seems like service has gone downhill a bit. I had a problem with my reservation causing me to be locked out of my room one afternoon. Also had to call to get our room serviced and no turn down one night. The staff used to be 5 stars but seems to be lacking a bit all around now.

The hotel is a beautiful historic property set in a beautiful location. It was very quiet and the beds were very comfortable. What lessened the experience for me were the additional fees. In particular, $60 per day for parking, on top of the resort fee ($60 per day) and expensive nightly room rate. Totally ridiculous, in my opinion. Their website touts unlimited tennis court access as one of the perks covered by the resort fee, and this is why we stayed at the Inn, but then they tried to charge me $50 (and then $75) an hour for any use of courts for more than hour (in other words, only 1 hour was covered by the resort fee). They did agree not to implement the charge for the courts after I pointed out the inconsistency with what their website promises but still....

This is a super nice place. I liked how it never seemed crowded...even on a holiday weekend. The place is so expansive with so much space around and the grounds are so lush and beautiful that you rarely hear other people around. The staff was all very friendly and helpful and really added to the overall good feel.
