Motel room was large, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Parking was easy and spacious. No gym, nice pool, and a lovely garden with tables/chairs to have a picnic, play games, read...very peaceful. Nice sitting area in the lobby, as well. Short drive to shopping, restaurants, coffee shops & markets. Coffee available in the main lobby.

We truly enjoyed our stay during the July 4th holiday week. We wanted to escape the city and the fireworks, and this place was perfect for achieving that goal! The staff were fantastic, the pool was wonderful, the bikes were easy to ride, and the location was excellent. The renovated interior felt cozy overall, but we especially loved our room for its comfortable and homey feel. A tip for those planning to visit Ojai for the 4th: plan ahead for dinner by making a reservation at The Dutchess for a sit-down meal or Little Sama Ojai, which is attached to Topa Topa Brewing, for a more laid-back dining experience.

An all around restful, welcoming place to stay. The pool was the perfect temperature for playing, with a lovely firepit to warm you while you dried off. The morning tea and coffee was set in a soothing, plant filled lobby. They staff were equally warm and welcoming - thank you!

There are unique snacks and water in the room for sale at very reasonable cost. The bed, bedding and pillows are very good quality. There are actual windows that open for the fresh Ojai air, or remote-controlled, new and silent mini-split air conditioning.The entirety of the property is warm, inviting, and very clean. The pool area provides nice lounging options surrounded by giant shading trees. There are several seating areas around the property to relax, read, or drink the free coffee and tea offered in the morning. Located just past the town on the main drag, its an easy 5-10 minute walk to all the restaurants, bars and shops. The Hummingbird also provides nice, new bikes for patron use. I wish I could've stayed longer, but I'll definitely return!

We were looking for a convenient hotel with a pool that we could relax at as part of a day trip to Ojai and this perfectly fit what we were looking for. There was some ongoing renovation work, but it did not affect our stay in any way. There was always staff at the front desk to assist. I loved the vibe of the pool area.

We spent one night at the Hummingbird on Jan 8, 2025. Unfortunately, the power was out in part of the town of Ojai, and this included the Hummingbird Inn. The hotel staff had no control over this, but made the best of a bad situation. We were given a flashlight, electric candles, and they had the firepit outside going as well as the indoor fireplace in the lobby. We brought our dinner in there and ate by firelight! In the morning, with the power still out, they picked up coffee from another hotel so that we could have our morning coffee. We appreciated the effort.that was made.

Nice place to stay, within walking distance of restaurants, shops and park. Nice hotel lobby with comfy furniture and fire place to enjoy complementary coffee/tea in the morning. The room was clean and nicely decorated in a minimalistic style which I appreciate very much. The pool area is very nice and there is a gas fire pit there as well. The morning I was checking out new stylish lounge chairs were being set up by the pool. I am really looking forward for my next stay at the Hummingbird Inn to relax by the pool on those new lounge chairs, perhaps I will even bring my little dog as this is a pet friendly hotel.

It was cute and there was some updates but the bathroom needs some updating. The bedding was a little uncomfortable. There was a noise that occurred every 30 min that sounded like a slipper falling onto the ground. I couldn’t tell where it was coming from. But the walls are pretty thin as I could hear our neighbors talking and I’m sure they could hear us.

I have mixed feelings about my stay here. I absolutely loved the pool area: chairs were so comfy, space was cute, lots of towels available, clean! Being able to use the bikes to go eat was great and the lawn area out front was nice. Bed was comfy. The room was my biggest disappointment. I guess it looked like the pictures online but I was expecting a nicer room. It felt like a very old basic room with some new paint on it. No bathroom storage, shower temp wouldn’t ever get to a tolerable temperature, room got bright so early in the morning, unpleasant view out the window and looked right into the patio below us. (Patio areas are shared with 2 rooms as well which is kind of strange) A/C was a bit confusing to use with no directions anywhere. There is one person who works at the front desk and if they aren’t there, you just have to wait around until they come back (no way to let them know you are there) When we were helped by them though, they were all super friendly and helpful.

Hummingbird Inn is a nice choice for staying in Ojai. It is a good location for getting around the town. The staff go out of their way to help you. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. There is a large closet for hanging clothes in the room. My only negative comment is the lack of shelves or a dresser to place other clothes since there was only one luggage rack.

Loved our stay, this place is so great and the staff is so nice and friendly. The only negative part is how thin the walls and windows are, if you are a light sleeper take some earplugs, you will need them.

Carla at the front desk was amazing! I surprised my wife with a birthday trip and Carla made our trip very special. This hotel is in a great location and you can rent bikes directly from the front desk to get around!

We spent one night at the Hummingbird on Jan 8, 2025. Unfortunately, the power was out in part of the town of Ojai, and this included the Hummingbird Inn. The hotel staff had no control over this, but made the best of a bad situation. We were given a flashlight, electric candles, and they had the firepit outside going as well as the indoor fireplace in the lobby. We brought our dinner in there and ate by firelight! In the morning, with the power still out, they picked up coffee from another hotel so that we could have our morning coffee. We appreciated the effort.that was made.

We had a real good time staying at this place as it was so close to downtown. Everything was at a walkable distance. The receptionist at the front desk were very very friendly and helpful.

I enjoyed my stay! I came in late after a long drive from Santa Barbara and they had my room key waiting for me. I never did actually meet any staff from the hotel, which is unusual but not necessary. Close to everything, affordable, and clean. I would stay here again for sure.

Absolutely love this hotel!! Cannot wait to stay here again. Perfect location for walking to town but still quiet and secluded. The property is adorable and the rooms are beautiful! Love Shelter Social Club properties and this one definitely lives up to the rest!

The staff were warm and friendly. The room was well-appointed, though the bathroom basic. The grounds are well-kept. We enjoyed the pool. The lobby looked like a wonderful place to lounge. Would definitely stay here again!

The room was clean and nicely decorated in a minimalistic style which I appreciate very much. The pool area is very nice and there is a gas fire pit there as well. The morning I was checking out new stylish lounge chairs were being set up by the pool. I am really looking forward for my next stay at the Hummingbird Inn to relax by the pool on those new lounge chairs, perhaps I will even bring my little dog as this is a pet friendly hotel.

This hotel had a beautiful, minimalist vibe to it. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the room was quiet and very clean with VERY comfy beds and plenty of space to settle in. We utilized the pool area and outdoor fire pit, both of which were well attended to. We didn’t get a chance to use the bikes, but it seemed there were plenty available and it would be an easy ride to restaurants and shops. The only reasons that I gave 4 stars instead of 5 were that there wasn’t any food on premises, with the exception of high-end market snacks, and it’s not quite as family friendly as I hoped. The hotel is a great space for well-behaved kids, but the clientele will send a few glares your way at the pool and there were no options for including kids on the bikes. Overall, would highly recommend as a quiet retreat spot.

An all around restful, welcoming place to stay. The pool was the perfect temperature for playing, with a lovely firepit to warm you while you dried off. The morning tea and coffee was set in a soothing, plant filled lobby. They staff were equally warm and welcoming - thank you!

Dining a short drive away. I was surprised there was no in room coffee but at least you had a microwave n little fridge. Bathroom and vanity had very little space to place items like toiletries.

This quaint, recently updated hotel offers spacious-sized rooms with generous bathroom/shower area as well as a peninsula counter under which is a microwave and mini-fridge. There are unique snacks and water in the room for sale at very reasonable cost. The bed, bedding and pillows are very good quality. There are actual windows that open for the fresh Ojai air, or remote-controlled, new and silent mini-split air conditioning.The entirety of the property is warm, inviting, and very clean. The pool area provides nice lounging options surrounded by giant shading trees. There are several seating areas around the property to relax, read, or drink the free coffee and tea offered in the morning. Located just past the town on the main drag, its an easy 5-10 minute walk to all the restaurants, bars and shops. The Hummingbird also provides nice, new bikes for patron use. I wish I could've stayed longer, but I'll definitely return!

Everything was very nice, but I thought it was a bit stingy that they charged (rather dearly) for the in-room packet of coffee or tea or water. They did have free coffee in the lobby, but most places do not charge for that skimpy little bit of coffee in the room.

The decor in the lobby and rooms were great, however if you are on the first floor, you will hear every little movement of the room upstairs. The first floor rooms do have a nice little patio bonus, but a lounge chair would have been nice out there (it’s just a table and chairs). Great location! And good AC / wifi
