For a cheap hotel room, it was a great experience. The hotel is in a great location right across from the harbor and within walking distance of plenty of restaurants, bars, stores, and coffee shops. The common areas were all nice enough, the pool was clean and well kept, the breakfast had lots of options and was pretty good, parking was easy. The only issues were 1) the accessible shower where the tile wasn’t set up to drain enough in a downhill direction and thus required a bunch of towels to prevent the rest of the bathroom from getting wet and 2 the hot tub in the pool area had broken jets.

We spent one week at this here. We found minor problems with this hotel. Seems like if something breaks. It does not get fixed promptly. There were 2 washer and dryers for the entire building. One of the washer was broken. My wife went to the hot tub and only 2 jets worked. Had only 1 ice machine for the entire building. The grate was missing so you had to hold the ice bucket while dispensing ice. The breakfast was average hotel food. But the area was to small. Better to take your food back to your room and eat. This hotel is great if your stay is a few days. If you need the amenities or a longer stay. I would definitely look elsewhere.

Free parking was excellent. Breakfast was very good. Did have to carry up bags from the garage up several stairs. Faucet in shower needed to be pulled very hard to get it to work.

The property and rooms were very clean and comfortable. It was nice having a balcony to sit outside and relax. Check-in was quick and easy. They had a very nice free breakfast with many choices every morning. The registration staff were very pleasant and willing to help with any questions we had. Although we had not seen it advertised on their websit, we were pleased to find out they had a free shuttle to the cruise port. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel is located in a Yacht Harbor area. It's safe and beautiful. There are many great restaurants around. Close to the Airport and the beautiful Spanish landing bay. Parking is either on the roof or underground so you have to take steps to go to lobby. It is not convenient if you have heavy luggage. Breakfast is good.

We have stayed her a couple of times before and will always stay here when in San Diego. Though they don't have airport transfer they do have cruise port transfer. Very handy. nice places to eat nearby.

The location is convenient and has nice spots across the street. Breakfast is decent. I didn’t use the pool but it looked ok. Staff were mostly friendly, one guy was kind of strange but everyone else was nice enough. The room and hallway all smelled musty and of stale cigarette smoke either from the balcony or remnants from before I’m not sure but it was quite potent.

While the building is older, they have tastefully updated it. The rooms and property is very clean. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Delicious breakfast. Breakfast staff are happy and quick to make sure food is always refilled and hot. Great location with easy Lyft/Uber access to the city and attractions. Would recommend.

While our stay was amazing during the duration, as we were packing up we noticed a bed bug on the bed. We didn’t see more than one but as we are driving home my partner has noticed a lot of itchy bumps on their arm. I’m writing this review in hopes to inform management. We plan to now completely bed bug spray our entire luggage when we arrive back in AZ. The hotel staff was sweet, I wish we had a chance to let them know in person, but we were really hoping it wasnt going to come to itchy arms and legs. The stay was good but we obviously are not very happy the end of our vacation has left with health concerns. I wish we would’ve caught one on our first night and not the last morning. Feels gross to have been possibly sleeping in a bed dug infested bed.

The room was gross. The bathroom had hair in the shower. I didn't complain because I was only there to sleep. I did not use the common areas as they were run down and poorly maintained. Also....The front desk walked my unregistered friend to my room and let him in while I was sleeping which is a total security breach. Thank God it was my friend! I would not choose this hotel again.

Picked this place because of the free parking and breakfast. They have a fantastic breakfast spread. Room was fine except the patio door didn’t close properly and I had to fight with it every night to close. Would have just left it open but the road was noisy.

Good location just across the road from the harbour and free parking is a very good perk. Rooms are looking a little run down but that is perhaps factored into the lower price for the area. Our room claimed to have a balcony and the pictures on our Expedia booking had chairs on it, but our actual room ‘balcony’ was far too small to fit a chair and more of a guard rail to prevent falling from the open doors. Only three rooms had this style balcony. We enquired about this but were told that we should have booked an upgraded room with either harbour or maintain view in order to have chairs on the balcony. The receptionist claimed this was an error by Expedia and that the pictures were incorrect- Disappointing as we were staying for four nights and wanted to be able to use the balcony. We asked to pay to upgrade but the receptionist came across as rather dismissive and said the hotel was fully booked. Breakfast was very good but the seating area is small and was always full for the four mornings we were there. People were waiting for tables and/or sitting outside on the pool side tables and sun loungers. No complimentary coffee available outside of breakfast hours. Disappointingly the pool looked a rather green tinge and so our children decided not to use it. Overall it is a nice area that seemed very safe even at night time.

The area and views were nice. The one think that could be better is the comfort of the mattresses. The beds are hard and not comfortable. AC needs to be serviced - even at a low temp the room had very little circulation and coolness to it.

The balcony view from my room was nice. The room condition itself was average at best. The air conditioning blower fan was squeaky, so that by itself made it difficult to fall asleep. The location from the airport and other attractions (unfortunately) is the only justification for the cost of this hotel. Other options should be considered even if you have to pay for parking. Continental breakfast was good. Visibility when leaving the parking lot is HORRIBLE! Street parking impedes visibility to see oncoming traffic.

The room was well appointed but very noisy due to road traffic. We identified that the patio sliding door did not close properly due to poor door seals,allowing road noise to pervade the room environment. We had an issue with the room keys being unable to unlock the door , this was resolved quickly . Breakfast was good , with plenty of choice and availability.

Great location. Loved the large room and balcony. General TLC could be given to some parts of the place and our AC was totally inadequate. We had maintenance come, and he was friendly but not helpful. Luckily the city isn’t too hot, but it was muggy in our room the whole time. Good but crowded breakfast. Slowish Wi-Fi.

Wife and I both got food poisoning from the breakfast. One morning at 8 am someone from staff just barged in to the room even though DND sign was on door. Freaked us out, person ran from the room quick when he realized it was occupied. Hot water was out for two days.

The front desk and support staff were very pleasant. Breakfast was also pretty good, with a decent variety of hot and cold food. Disappointing were the facilities in the room, the toilet flush was temperamental and the shower mechanism very stiff to operate. During our stay there was no hot water for at least one day. However the hotel is in a great location, the price was very reasonable for San Diego and the free parking very welcome

If you want to stay at a smoking motel with cigarette butts in a cup on your balcony upon checking into your nonsmoking room, and have no possible chance of sleep between the road noise and kids running around, this is the place for you. I made several attempts prior to my stay to make sure I got a satisfactory room but there were none here if you don’t want loud road noise. I left as there wasn’t any way I was staying here. I went to where I normally stay. The staff member with long fake eyelashes acted like she was doing me a favor by checking me in - I think she needs a new profession that doesn’t involve customer service. I cannot recommend this hotel. They would not refund me either. I’m a very frequent traveler and don’t mind budget hotels for a night when needing to be close to the airport for a flight but my bayside super quiet hotel with amazing staff and much better amenities accommodated my move for an even cheaper price. Stay elsewhere. Unless you like smoke, noise and kids everywhere.

Great hotel. Good buffet breakfast and the staff were friendly and replenished the food very quickly. Rooms were cleaned everyday and towels replaced daily. Cleaning was of a high standard. In a quiet area, overlooking the marina. Buses were a bit difficult and the one to go downtown didn't run at weekends. There was an alternative if you know your bus routes. Took a bit longer though to city centre. Had a problem with the fridge in the room, and they sorted with a new fridge within 10 minutes of reporting it. Check in staff were friendly, helpful, and respectful, with the exception of a male receptionist. Happy to look after our luggage on check out as we were on a night flight. They even offered us an 3 hour extension of our room. Very much appreciated. Didn't like the look of the pool, and spa pool. Looked a little grubby. Overall, I would be more than happy to return to hotel.

Our first room the Air conditioning was broke. Maintenance tried to fix but it did not not work. The next Day they moved all of our stuff to a better room why we were at Sea World.

Decent hotel around 4.5 miles out from downtown San Diego. Breakfast was included, which was limited but adequate to start your day. Room was good with a balcony although minimal storage space but ok for a couple of days stay. Hotel was kept clean & tidy. There was also free parking at the hotel, which was good to have. Small swimming pool on site, ehich was good for children. Opposite was a marina with some decent eateries. Hotel was approx 15 mintues walk from Shelter Island.
