Experience was great. Parking is expensive. $50 a night is crazy. They don’t disclose that until you check in. I didn’t like that. Our keys didn’t work. It was finally fixed about 2 or 3 hours after we checked in. Breakfast was good. The 2 men Who were there to attend people at breakfast were great! Very attentive and nice. Everyone was nice. Place was decent and close to everything.

Great staff. Easy check in. Not enough parking for guests had to park across the street and paid $50 Dollars a night. Breakfast was plus. Rooms are small but it works. Overall is was good. A lot of homeless in the area. Which is not new.

This property is in a great location in the heart of the Gaslamp district and walkable to all the spots however parking is a headache. It’s $50 a day on the property and any other public lot it’s about $60 a day. Your best bet is to find a meter and park, but they are usually all taken.

Great location for thoses who want to be downtown, me and my wife stayed here for a weekend it was very close to entertain and lots of places to eat. Only downside is its $50 a night to park with them

$50 dollars to park in the hotel parking lot per day… This isn’t disclosed on Expedia listing. Street parking is difficult to come by and are metered. Besides that staff were friendly and hotel was clean.

AC filters extremely filthy. Very loud crowds outside the windows every night. We had restless nights

Breakfast was fantastic. Not a fan of how smelly the room would get from running the window ac unit. Smelled like the filter was moldy and needed to be changed.

overall it felt dirty and looked dirty. The ice machine was rusty and surrounded by homeless. $50 to park and a $100 deposit. Nope never again.

I stayed at the comfort Inn on the night of August 10 and unfortunately, it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. From the moment we walked in the hotel, felt musty and humid. While the front desk receptionist was very welcoming, the room itself was a huge letdown. It was nothing like the photos online very outdated with a strange stench we couldn’t place. The worst part? We found a roach crawling on the window curtains. We immediately notified the front desk and to their credit, the gentleman upgraded our room. Normally, I would’ve left right then, but it was late, and we were exhausted after a long drive and a concert. The upgraded room wasn’t much better. We inspected everything and found mold in the shower, a bent lamp plug that couldn’t be used and rust on the bathroom light fixture. It was clear that the rooms are falsely advertised and not maintained properly. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff tried to help, but the condition of the rooms and overall cleanliness were unacceptable.

Had to move bed to find plug in for the lamp that was unplugged. Floor was dirty, bare socks acted as a mop picking up hair that didn't match out hair color. Bathroom fan blows air out rather than sucking it out. Light in there flickered. Room very small for 2 people with luggage. The bed mattress liner was 4 to 6 inches shorter on each side . Sheet kept popping off. Screen in window had holes in it. Flies got in. Room faced another wall withA/C running. Depressing actually. Sink is in the bedroom not the bathroom. Laminated floor in bathroom was bouncy and creaked. We were afraid it might collapse. Guest services promised an upgrade that never occurred. Room was to be cleaned every second day only. We didn't bother with the third day. Disgusting was my overall feeling. The breakfast was excellent and the lady running it was super friendly and exceedingly clean on tables and counters. The big disappointment is that we trusted expedia to guide us to a decent hotel. Will not trust this venue again and will tell others to be cautious about using Expedia.

Clean and reasonable rates

We found dead cockroach in our room, plus i couldn’t sleep all night long because our room was in the first floor and we had drunk people singing and lounging loudly. Will not recommend this place

Great area great service parking very convenient, but my room was very roach infested. I spent the first night killing adult and baby roaches in my room. That’s the only thing that messed up my experience.

The best is the location, nearby the Convention Center and main street. The room is small and it has the sink beside de bedroom.

This is a great choice if you want a room the size of an inside cruise ship stateroom, complete with shower curtains that are too short allowing water to drip all over the floor, and an in-window AC unit which means your window is always open and you get serenaded by the street noises below all day and night. Way too few outlets, and the ones there are old and loose. My hairdryer's plug literally fell out of the wall while i was using it. Location is good, but the room was a disappointment.

Keep in mind you’re just paying for the location, the hotel itself is disappointing for the price you pay. Bathroom - to start, THERE’S NO SINK, you need to do everything in the tiny kitchen/room, shower has no pressure, and there were stained and old towels. Wifi not stable, I couldn’t even watch netflix on my phone - TV sucks, old and terrible image Noisy, the room has window AC that is one feet from the bed and the curtains don’t cover the windows properly so it’s bright early morning Tiny room with no space to walk if you have one suitcase open, be ready to jump over your things if you want to walk around It could have been an honest mistake, but on Expedia it showed 40 dollars for parking and they charged us 50. After complaining they agreed on 40. Summarizing, old, outdated, noisy, tiny and extremely overpriced for what’s offered. Pros - good breakfast and gentle staff

This is an old hotel. The rooms are not bad, but the halls look really old. I stayed on the 3rd floor and there is a broken vending machine that looks sad. Each room has a small and noisy window unit, which works well for the size of the room, which is tight. There is a mini fridge and a tiny microwave. The bed and pillows were clean and comfy. The floor inside the room is luxury vinyl, which is better than the old carpet in the hallway. They should also replace that carpet with the same vinyl floor they have in the rooms. One of the 4 days I stayed there, there was no hot water in the shower so I jad to shower with cold water. It worked fine the next day. I was assigned a room facing the parking lot and it was really noisy because this hotel is really close to the Gaslamp area where all the bars are, so I requested to be moved to a room on the opposite side and they did. It was much better. Breakfast was included and it was meh, but at least it included warm and cold items. I might not stay there next time I'm in SD.

Great just a very small room

Overall the room was clean. But, The AC unit was loud and the walls were thin. Could hear every little sound from the hall. Plus the door close very loudly.

Convenient location at below average cost but room is small and very outdated. AC is just a loud window unit, tv is grainy and only has basic cable, bathroom is tiny and the fan did not work at removing the humidity which would fill the whole room.

Staff performed excellently. Front desk staff was very respectful and professional! Room was pretty nice. Floor needs to be cleaned better (long hairs kept sticking to my feet). Outside my window, I could see spider webs and rust on the air conditioners. My only major complaint is that they have window air conditioning units, which allow street noise (yelling, loud engines, etc.) to come directly into the room. I was able to switch rooms to a courtyard room, which cutdown on the noise significantly.

Really an old hotel. Sink isn't in the bathroom it's actually in the room. It was clean and the staff was nice with one exception. Do not stay in a room facing G street it's way too noisy.

We stayed here while in San Diego for a Padres game. It was a perfect location close to bars and restaurants for game day fun. Hotel itself was quiet, especially for the location. Staff were amazing!! Especially the night front desk staff - we had a great stay and will be back again.

I walk to the front desk to check in and when asked if I will be needing parking, a rude employee sitting next to the employee checking me in says “Just so you know, parking is $50.” I get checked in and am assigned a room on the bottom floor right on the street of downtown San Diego where everyone can see in. There is no dresser, and the bathroom sink is in the bedroom. It’s right across from where the maids keep all their cleaning supplies so there are cleaning carts everywhere in the hallway and the maids are loud and talking very early in the morning and I can hear everything. I’ve actually never left a poor review, but this experience was not great for my son and I. The only good part was the compliment breakfast which was pretty good actually.

This property is always amazing but what makes it so amazing other than the property itself is the incredible staff.

Don’t stay here!!! Staff is extremely rude. Unable to have a good sleep ppl where constantly slamming doors and a lot of yelling and jumping from the top floor.

They should call this place the Discomfort Inn. I will never stay here again. There was a rude staff member on duty when we arrived. The room was advertised on Expedia as having a rollaway bed option. I called ahead and a lady said yes of course there would be one for you. I arrived and the guy at the front desk tersely said “well u can have one only if we have one”. I said I called ahead and was assured there would be one. He repeated the same phrase. He comes back five minutes later and says they have one and it will be delivered to my room. I get to my room and there’s an inflatable mattress leaned up against the bed, no sheets, no pillows, nothing. I’m like you gotta be kidding me. So I go downstairs, and the same rude staff says oh you need sheets? I said yes, I need sheets, a pillow, a comforter, or blanket. And why on earth am I getting an inflatable mattress to sleep on the floor? He said the rooms are too small for rollaway beds so they didn’t have any. Total BS. He brought one set of sheets out and said they did not have any comforters or blankets. I asked for a second set of sheets which he went back and got. Eventually, much later that evening, a different and nicer staffer stripped off a bed of an unoccupied room, and gave me a blanket. Then at 7 AM housekeeping woke us up and offered to give me a pillow. Unbelievable. It was noisy both nights too with car alarms, vehicles beeping like they’re construction vehicles. Do yourself a favor. Don’t stay at this place.

The gentleman Thursday night 12:30am to become Friday was extremely helpful! And knowledgeable as well as displayed excellent customer service! Also The Check-in had a Great very helpful Agent; Haley was fast efficient, personable, and very professional all at once. Nice Room clean; great!

Took a weekend trip to San Diego for the holiday bowl and to go to sea world over Christmas break. The comfort inn is super close to petco park so it was very convenient to walk to the game. Also close to gaslamp and all the bars and restaurants so expect it to be alittle noisy. But i thought the location was great, a little noise in exchange for a center of the action spot to sleep is fine by me. Really the only thing loud in our room was the air conditioner attached to the window. The rooms are meh, but what can you expect for the reasonable price in a great location?? Very basic, 2 beds, desk and kitchenette which is always great when traveling with family. But overall our room and the hotel in general was very clean and well taken care of. The morning breakfast included in the price was a much added bonus. Lots of food choices, waffles, pancakes, eggs and sausage and all the other extras like cereal, oatmeal, yogurt and breakfast breads. I think the only part where they really get you is parking at $50 per night! But the lot is supervised with cameras, so at least safer than parking in a random lot farther away. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and we would come back again.

Super convenient to nightlife, so loud on Fri/Sat night. Lots of homeless within two blocks. Less expensive than nearby options, especially if you want free breakfast…but it ends at 9:30 even on weekends so expect crowd and empty eggs if you go near the end. Shower grout was gross and sink drained slowly, but bed was really comfy. I might stay there again.

This area is accessible to tourist attractions such as seaport and more. There are lots of restaurants on fifth Street and perfect transportation. It is near to grocery store such as Ralph’s and more. The location is excellent and the breakfast was more than we could expect.

Petco Park is an easy walk. Walk to convention center and trolley relatively easy too.

Right in the heart of the action. Walkable to petco park if you want to catch a Padres game. Close to little Italy for a safe 2 mile walk or fast uber.

The hotel was fantastic and clean. The general area, the Gaslamp Quarter is nice but a bit noisy and smelly.

Breakfast was good.

Nice staff at reception. Cheaper than other options and close enough to easily walk to the convention center. At close to $300 per night, the breakfast was a buffet of mostly processed food. Could try to have plain oatmeal in addition to only sugary flavoured options. Could also try to have skim milk. The facilities could also be refreshed a little.

Loved how it was close to many fun bars and great restaurants and the breakfast was good!!!

The room was clean for being older, we stayed on the first floor in a busy area so it was a bit loud, but other than that it was very safe and secure. The coffee/hot water was available 24/7 and there was a room full of snacks for sale which was very nice, and the breakfast they provided was amazing!
