Hotel Ash&9th

Elevator was broken, had to carry luggage upstairs. What if we were disabled? Tv remote was broken, someone tried to fix it with tape, but it was still missing batteries. There are much better accommodations near the airport.

The hotel is located at a convenient location with public transportation easily accessible by a short walk. There's plenty of parking and the staff are super nice and helpful. There are also several restaurants and fast food options around the area. Unfortunately, it took us about an hour and a half to check-in due to our room being somehow unavailable despite booking five months in advance. The keys to our room also stopped working, though the staff were able to help us out free of charge and with politeness. The room itself was in decent condition in terms of cleanliness. Comfortable beds. Working toilet, sinks, and the shower had hot water. Overall, I'd say it's a decent stay for a few nights.

Doing renovations no breakfast had to pay for parking 20 dollars a day.

They are also supposed to provide complementary breakfast but the doors were closed. Couldn't check out and no check out box. Had to throw in mail slot.

Hotel was run down with people in the parking lot dealing drugs. Bed was not up to par. I laid in it and felt itchy. Elevator barely worked. Parking was limited (20$ a days). Everything was old.

People do not believe what you see in the pictures advertizing this hotel. I have pictures and videos of what it really looks like. The room had an AC unit literally leaking water to the balcony and in the wall, the water stains with black mold growing. The smell, the old furniture, and the bedding were gross. Overall, the hotel is run down. The elevator is falling apart rusted, the floor has holes scary, ..did not use it. When we arrived immediately disappointed and disgusted and did not stay ... expedia is refusing to refund our money, extremely dissapointed with this advertizement. The hotel gave me a paper showing I did not stay and that they didn't charge, Expedia won't refund me. We had to find a better place during a holiday where everything was sold out. Beware of this place.

Run down too disgusted to sleep 4th floor and elevator is broke

This hotel is run down type. The toilet flush is terrible , you need to hold the toilet flusher all the way down before it flush. There is only one chair in the room for dining table and study table . There is no dining room for breakfast. Tey give you a bento box for breakfast. The front desk is not open 24/7 if you need something. Also, they hotel charge you $20 for vehicle parking. (This is NOT disclosed in hotel.com)

Nice place to stay, the out side under construction overall descend hotel, parking cost extra 20 dollars!

The outward appearance of the building was a bit rundown, but the room had clearly been updated, as it was lovely and clean. The staff was friendly, and it was quiet and comfortable.

TV didn't work, towel racks broken, water stains on the ceiling, funky smell in room, dated furniture. Staff was friendly!

It was the most disgusting place I’ve ever stayed by far. Unfortunately we arrived at midnight so trying to find another place to stay that night proved impossible - I tried for about two hours!! We checked out first thing in the morning and cancelled the two nights we had left. The room and property, there was peeling paint, I was gagging from the disgusting bathroom. Needles to say we slept in our clothes and didn’t shower. Do not stay here!!!

Absolutely disgusting! Where can I even begin?? The room stench, sticky blow dryer, remote control, dirty floor, disgusting shower, dirty pillow case, dirty blankets!! We slept in our clothes abs not top of towels. This place is a dump and super sketchy. Horrible experience!

The room was filthy with literal clumps of hair on the floor and dirty bathrooms and bedroom.

So much offensive smell in the reception and the room

The hotel was under construction and maid service was every 3 days not once did maid service come in and cleaned the room when we were out. They didn’t even come in and changed the sheets or put clean towels in the bathroom. Things didn’t work in the room. The second night we were there we saw a cockroach crawling up the wall. The coffee pot didn't work,the safe didn't have a key for it. When we went to the office to say something they told us maid service was every 3 days and the coffe pot would be replaced and nothing was ever done. We had to ask for toilet paper. The garbage cans outside on the floors were over flowing and homeless people digging thru them. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and i would not stay there again.

This hotel is dirty and disgusting. It was so bad that we didn’t even end up staying the night. We basically threw money down the drain. I would not recommend to anyone.

The photos of the room look nice because it was a laminate floor instead of carpeting. The sink vanity was wood & cute. However, there were dirty spots all over the room, stains on the sheets, holes in the walls behind the door, overall felt dirty & gross. Worst of all the outdoor elevator was “broken” & looked like it hadn’t been used since the 60’s. Outside stairs difficult to get up with suitcases. Overall, looked like a run-down dump. Glad we were only there one night.

Internet was terrible and the card never worked. Night staff needs better training when issues happen. It was clean even though it has a rough exterior

This place is the hotel of last resort in Downtown San Diego. It’s run-down and makes no apologies about it. The room was dark and musty, the toilet was leaking water on the bathroom floor, the toilet seat would not stay up on it’s own, the shower water handle came off when I turned it, there’s a large gap in the room door letting in plenty of street noise, including the guys smoking pot on the corner every evening. Homeless congregate there. There was no art on the walls, but the hangers were still attached to the wall. The drapes were dirty. There were spider nests above the bed (no spiders, just the nests), bathroom walls showed visible signs of water damage. Cigarette burns in the wood furniture. The safe probably worked but is so old it requires a physical key. The vanity mirror was hung low so I couldn’t see the top of my head when standing and then was still hard to see because the lights were also installed low (I’m 5’11”). For the year 2024, there was a serious lack of electrical outlets, particularly near the bed. I had to move the light stand to get to the one outlet next to the bed. The bed was ok, the blanket (no comforter here) was scratchy but at least the sheets appeared clean. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. It had a serial killer vibe.

I hate leaving bad reviews but this was not for me....we were in San Diego for a family vacation and decided to move from our VRBO house on the final night to be closer to SD Airport and to a concert we were attending before leaving early the next am.....Check in was quick and pleasant and I rented two rooms for me and my family...like ok the floors were somewhat new, room clean...but bathroom was kind of dirty, door barely closed, cracked tile, toilet dirty....again it served its purpose but if I had to do it again I wont stay there. Also its pretty loud with planes coming in and out all night, other than the location nothing great!

Super friendly staff, room was very clean and had all the essentials. The only negatives would be that the swing bar lock for the door was alarmingly loose, and we were woken up by the cleaning ladies talking very very loudly directly outside the window first thing in the morning. Also walls are EXTREMELY thin, be prepared to hear everything your neighbors are up to at all hours of the night

I stayed there with family. Its was such a nightmare. The morning , we realized that there is no hot water coming, we called the reception and they said that they know the issue and nothing can be done . As i had two days of stay, i went to reception and they said that they will give 25% discount in my bill if i choose to stay the second day. It tough to find another hotel in such shirt time so i continued stay. During checkout the front desk told me that they will give refund after 1 week but no refund came . I am not sure how many more people were cheated like this as there were many people who were complaining . The hotel condition itself was so bad, like bathroom locks was broken, Second day, there was a theft also in the hotel as there was cop in the lobby and investigating the issue so i would advise to say away from this.

Lights not working, Shower had issues, No WiFi overall terrible experience.

Hotel is old!! Walls are paper thin, shower has very little pressure, elevator was scary!! The beds were hard and the sheets were so thin. The manager when we checked in was suer nice, having us move rooms several times bc each room had problems. We only needed the room for 12 hrs, so for the low price it worked, but i think next time we will spring for something a bit nicer

Mark was very helpful and accommodating at check in. We lost power at 6pm, spoke with the young lady at the desk and was told she would take care of it. The circuit breakers were on the 2nd floor and supposedly accessible. At 7pm, we still had no power, tried calling from the hotel phone and she did not answer the phone. I called the hotel outside line. Still no answer. 7:30 went down to the office, she said she couldn't fix it and there was no one to call to fix it. Power went back on around midnight when the next shift came in. The maintenance person was covering when we checked and was very apologetic. He told me the issue would be reported to corporate. I WOUKD NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN!

Room had not been cleaned prior to arriving at 11pm. No clean towels, beer bottles and cigarette butts in the trash cans, untidy. No response from front desk until they reopened next morning.

Friendly staff. Got here 15 minutes before the check in time hoping to get settled in but the office was closed. Me and other people were waiting.

This property is nothing like the photos. Its dirty and unkept, dated. I could get past that for the price but the guy working the front desk in the mornings is rude and treated my husband like a homeless person instead of a paying guest. Will never go back to this trash htoel.

The staff was very nice and helpful. Especially Mr. Bo. I left something valuable in my room. I called back in the middle of the night and Mr Bo went to look for it. In the morning I went back to the hotel and retrieved my stuff. He was very honest and kind. Kudo to Mr. Bo. I am a gold member of Wyndham and would not hesitate to come back here. Thu Bui

Reasonable price, Nice staff.

There was a wait of 30 minutes to check in but the gentleman was very friendly . Overall it was definitely worth what we paid and would stay again

I wish I would've gotten the name of the older gentleman at the front desk. His customer service made my stay so much more enjoyable. And Ill definitely be back.

This hotel met my needs, front desk was respectful, hotel is close to public transportation, food and bus line 992 that goes straight to the airport. The only downside is if you get loud neighbors next door your room,it will be loud. Having said so,i would stay here again because the price met my budget.

I guess you get what you paid for. Staff was polite. Place was fairly close to Petco which was convenient but area is very sketchy. Room was clean. The beds were not great. Squeaked very loudly everytime you moved. The walls are paper thin. You can hear everything around and above you. It was very noisy all night. We heard people yelling outside up to 2am. Between the squeaky bed, noise outside and constant rumbling from above, we didn't get have a good night sleep at all. There is no breakfast room. We got a boxed breakfast, which wasn't too bad (pastry, juice, orange and cheese). Overall, not what I'd expect from a Wyndham property.

The location was very good , close to a lot of places

It was an okay place to stay at and just sleep, but the walls are so thin you can hear EVERYTHING. So it wasn’t good for sleeping. The bed was fresh although there was a Dorito found under the bed. But check in and check out we’re easy and convenient. Parking was a bit tight. Area was good In distance for Petco Park.

Great front desk service. Bill was very attentive and considerate. Premises: Overall, clean surroundings and room. Room was clean but had a strong bleach smell.

Terrible property. Don't stay here. Rooms are in rough shape. Sink doesnt drain properly. Shower rack is broken. For the price it's terrible condition. No breakfast other then lame juice and Danish. Terrible service. Asked for a room garbage to be removed and more towels since I stayed two days. Nobody came and I came back to the same dirty room. Terrible service. Scam. Hope they go out of business. Only location is good.

Nice stay here at Days Inn but the brochure was false advertisement. The lobby was nothing what they posted. No breakfast sitting area and no sitting area outside. Besides that the room was clean and good distance from everything

Didn’t have much expectation although it is not particularly cheap. Check-in was smooth. Staff was not particularly helpful though. Free “hot water” and coffee were provided in a self serving corner. But water was not hot and the staff didn’t seem want to reheat it even after we telling her. Water tasted like hell with residual coffee “flavour”. The room was poorly maintain. The door lock was broken. The lamp was not working and the hanger bar fell off from the wall. One good thing is that the room was clean and tidy.
