We had a relaxing and fun time at Mission Bay Resort. We stayed on the 8th floor of the tower building and had a great view of the pool and the bay. We rented a daybed at the pool and Malia and Ben were very attentive and helpful as were the waitstaff. Having the watersports rental so near was convenient and we took out a FunCat for an hour to tour the bay. The only negative was the food choices on the property are limited and very expensive. I saw a lot of guests having food delivered and we did go off property several times for meals. A bonus was the Sea World firework show that we viewed each night. I would definitely stay here again.

Good visit, but we're given a 2nd floor room not knowing there were no elevators. They did switch to a first floor room as my son is in a wheelchair. Parking and resort fees are a bit pricey

Beautiful resort, in a great location. The pool is amazing, perfect for kids. We walked down to Tecolote Playground every morning. Very fun park. Bring your own pillows… they are not the best. Overall, would definitely come back. Everything we ate here was delicious. Our favorites were the chicken tenders, poke tostadas, and the clam chowder. Yummm.

Expensive for what you get. 3 floor building with no elevator means carrying packages, kids, etc. up stairs. Had to call maintenance 2 times to fix the toilet. Coffee maker and coffee was awful. Slanted ramps walking into building with no railings makes it hard for older people. Would never stay there again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Mission Bay Resort. We enjoyed coffee shop, the walking path each morning, the fireworks from Sea World and the friendly wait staff in the pool area. The daily fees are a little expensive especially since there isn’t any amenities besides the pool. The hot tub is super small, but the large pool makes up for it. We enjoyed the restaurants and the food.

Perfect location on the quiet part of the bay. Loved the walking path along the bay. Staff was very friendly, pool was great and heated and the room with the fire pit was excellent, used the fire pit both nights. Definitely will be back and worth it.

It was my first resort with a pickleball court and we played . That was fun. The desk staff let us use a wheelchair for my mother who is 91 so she could come out to pickleball court and watch us. That was nice. The pool facilities are very nice and we enjoyed that.

The Pros: the grounds are well kept. The food at the restaurants in the resort is all delicious and the staff is very friendly. Anna specifically at Covewood restaurant was such a pleasure both times we had her as our waitress. The bartenders at the pool were super nice and the drinks were all consistently good. They have nightly live music which was a big plus. They also have a cafe where they sell coffees and small breakfast so you don’t actually need to go outside of the resort for your coffee run. The cons for us. One thing to keep in mind is that we were traveling with a small baby so we had additional needs. We stayed at the ocean view villas is the miramar building. There was no freezer in the little fridge. They did have an ice machine on site but was really Counting on small freezer in order to freeze my ice packs that I use for baby’s bottles . The rooms did not come with a microwave. I had to request one for $20 per stay. They don’t provide the small little toiletries you get at most higher end hotels like qtips, cotton balls etc. The biggest con for us however was the cleanliness of the room. I actually had to call front desk upon arrival at our room bc the floor was very dirty and sand everywhere. I could tell that there had been no dusting either bc the lamps had all collected a layer of dust. Housekeeping did eventually come to vacuum which helped with the floor situation but I would expect a resort like this to have better kept rooms.

Hotel was really dirty. Everything! Bathroom, rugs, carpet, balcony everything. Coffee maker was broker, we called them to see if the can fix it and they said in the phone somebody will be there soon, guess what nobody showed up or fix it or nothing. And everything around there is really ghetto. We didn’t feel safe. Pretty disappointed!

The outside areas and restaurants were really nice. The property itself is old and could be cleaned better. When I got to my room there was unswept trash around the tv and dresser area. I told the front desk and they said they would send housekeeping. After a while I went to housekeeping to let them know and was handed a broom and dust pan. I would never stay here again…

The property is conveniently located near water; it has great vacation/relaxation potential. However, the property is poorly maintained. The guest rooms are dirty; there is dust everywhere; it seems that rooms do not get proper cleaning at all. It is sad that such a great vacation destination has such poor management.

I gave 3 stars for cleanliness because of the pool area. The room itself was very clean, comfortable and nicely sized. The pool area had a few rather gross situations going on which staff had to be alerted to by several people. The pool bathrooms had water flooding the floors which people from the pool were walking through. At first, it seemed like it might be from all of the pool goers wet foot traffic but we soon realized it was a toilet/ plumbing overflow as there was visible human waste all over the floor. A similar situation was being discussed by people sitting next to us at the kiddie pool area/ splash pad. The pool was crowded which we understood for a weekend in the summer, but they really should be more heavily staffed and attentive especially to handle human health/ safety issues. The "resort fee" is also annoying...and it doesn't include parking so you are getting hit with a surprise $80-90 per day extra charge upon check in. Just include it in the price of the room and stop being sneaky!

There was no wifi in public areas. There was a crumb on bathroom floor from the day we checked in until the day we left which led me to believe floor wasn’t cleaned. Carpet didn’t seem to be vacuumed. They tried to charge me for 4 in-room bottles of water @ $7 per bottle. I only drank one. Luckily, I caught their error on final bill.

The property, amenities, and convenience of this resort were outstanding! However, we definitely wish that our room (Traditional King Room) had more lighting; our room only had two bedside lamps. Nevertheless, our stay at the resort was fantastic and the ease-of-access to the bay to walk, dine, and put our feet in the sand made it all worthwhile. Definitely a resort we’d travel to again in the future!

Staff members were above expectations. Food was AMAZING! Room was clean and spacious. We got the room with a view and the view was so cute. Our waiter Omar was so patient and friendly we had to give him a wonderful tip! Allie and Ginger and mika were all so delightful! The food service manager was funny and very nice. The staff is fantastic. Everyone was helpful and engaging. We had booked 2 kings but needed one to change. They could not accommodate us so they sent a rollaway bed. That was comfortable. We asked again and they were able to change our room for us and move our luggage. The property is older ans big but didnt feel it. Dinner at Covewood was delish. Would love to stay.

I wanted to share some quick feedback from our recent stay. While we enjoyed many parts of our visit, there were a couple of things that stood out — both positive and not-so-great. When I went to the front desk to ask about an email I received regarding a complimentary bike rental, one of the front desk staff members looked up our room and told the other (in front of me) that “the room hasn’t even been paid.” That felt uncomfortable and a little unprofessional, especially considering we were still checked in and I assumed payment would be processed at checkout. Also, when we arrived, we noticed the refrigerator in our room was dirty, which was a disappointing way to start our stay. On a much more positive note, I want to highlight how incredible the bartenders were — they had amazing customer service, were friendly, attentive, and honestly gave us the warm welcome we had hoped for. They went above and beyond and showed the kind of hospitality that leaves a lasting impression. Honestly, they’re the kind of team members who belong at the front desk. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Just wanted to share our experience — the good and the not-so-good — in hopes it’s helpful.

I was very unhappy with this place. We got there a little early before check in. We asked if it was possible to get our room early they said they would charge me!!!!! What they just told me my room was ready!!! Never have I had a place say they would charge to check in early. Had breakfast on site, cream for my coffee curdled!! Twice!! They gave us the wrong room # and wrong key!! Thank god!! Didn’t want to walk in on anyone!! Homeless surrounded the resort. Very, very , very disappointed in this place. I will never stay there again. I did not enjoy my stay there at all. Pictures are deceiving in regards to the surrounding area.

We enjoyed our stay at Mission Bay Resort. The property had all the necessary amenities and offered a relaxing atmosphere. That said, it's a bit far from downtown—next time I’d probably choose something closer since most of what we wanted to do (airport, zoo, etc.) was in that area. The only downsides were the limited food options and that the pool didn’t feel heated during our visit in early April. Also, our room could’ve been cleaned a bit better—some dust and surfaces not fully wiped—but we didn’t spend much time in the room outside of sleeping. Overall, a solid stay.

The property is nice, with a quiet location on a beautiful park. You cannot walk anywhere from the property - i.e. downtown, Seaworld, etc. However, we could see the Seaworld fireworks each night from our balcony, or from the pool area. For the most part, the staff was excellent. The pool is nice, but no one is keeping children out of the hot tubs (parents or staff).

Loved the proximity to the water. The property is large, open and beautiful. Very safe, we had bikes with us and they even let us know we had left unsecured and they could hold up front for us. Most of the staff were amazing, the bartenders were not as welcoming or friendly.

We booked a staycation as we live in SD, but wanted to stay near the water for a few days. The resort was fine, room clean. The pool was a bit overcrowded with kids that we dis not spend more than 1 hr there the whole 3 days. We left the resort for dinner each night as there were not many options. The one time we ate at the resort we spent $70 for an overcooked burger and medium sized pizza.

The property is situated in a nice location, however it is showing its age. All staff that I interacted with were very courteous and went out of their way. My one big negative is the Covewood Restaurants food was terrible. I did give my feedback to the server and manager and they were great (I did not ask for compensation). I ate both dinner and breakfast and it was pretty bad so did not eat on the property after that.

We had a comfortable stay… I was supposed to get a roll away bed, but despite a few requests, it was never delivered. We made do anyway… VERY CLEAN. Pool area was great! Food was delicious…poolside service was great. Parking was expensive, but that is everywhere today. Room was spacious…We loved it!

The vibe was a good combination of relaxing and fun. The food at the resort was good and plenty of options for breakfast lunch and dinner. To get off the property for food or entertainment there are a lot of options less than 10 miles from the resort.

They messed up our room and we had to get a roll bed into our rooms. They said they overbooked and gave us a room with 1 bed. There were 4 of us and I booked 2 queen beds. They also took forever to deliver my luggage. Overall, terrible. I wouldn’t stay here again. Lots of homeless people around the outside as well. The pool was nice though and the beach is walkable.

I book 3 rooms for 7 of us in my family. My wife and 4 kids were supposed to have connecting rooms. I called the day prior to confirm but during check in i was informed the rooms were not connected but next door. They were in opposite hallways next to a non working ice machine. This hotel is overpriced with small rooms. Do not waste your time or your money you will be disappointed.
