The room was basic. The tub didn’t drain and the grout on the floor in front of the toilet was gross. The bed was comfortable. Looking out of our small balcony we’re pretty hanging garden lights over the atrium towards the pool. The breakfast was pretty good. The parking structure is small with small parking stalls. There was an extra charge for parking.

We had a one night stay due to the last-minute extension of our trip. The reason why I chose this hotel was due to the hot tub and it was temporarily out of service. Next time I will call to ensure it works. Beds were pretty comfortable. Check-in was fast and easy overall a good day.

This is an older property in relatively good shape. It is need of a refresh or remodel, shows a lot of wear... Otherwise it was nice. Parking in underground and ceiling is low, check to see if your vehicle will fit. Normal cars and pickups have no problem.

Really love the location. Do be aware that free parking is located along side streets which is not ideal. Underground parking is $30/per night extra. Was a very nice stay. Being able to easily walk through old town was fantastic. Hotel pool has nice view of SeaWorld allowed us to enjoy the evening fireworks in comfort. Breakfast was nice. Rooms were well taken care of. Will definitely recommend!

Staff was great, very nice fire pit and twinkle lights and sofa at night. Building is a bit old and not updated but room was fine, bed comfy and room clean. Super convenient to airport and car rental return

From the moment we arrived, our stay was filled with issues. When we walked into our room, we were shocked to find a spider on the pillow—not exactly a welcoming sight. Things only got worse when we saw the shower was covered in black mold, making it feel unsafe and unclean. We also paid $30 a day for parking, only to discover there were no available spots. It felt like we were being charged for a service the hotel couldn’t even provide. Overall, this stay was far below expectations in terms of cleanliness, value, and basic amenities. I would not recommend this hotel to others.

Location is convenient near airport and Old Town. However all hotels in San Diego are relatively close to the airport. The exterior is very old but rooms are fully renovated. Staff was all great. In our shower though had a piece of blood that scrubbed off with Clorox wipes myself as didn’t want to change rooms. That was the major gross and downside.

I would rate this stay as okay. The check in was somewhat difficult as there are only a couple of spaces on the curb for 15 minute parking to check in. These spots were taken by cars not checking in so we had to double park. The girl who checked us in was not very very friendly. She wasn't unfriendly but also wasn't as welcoming as I would expect. Our room also wasn't the cleanest. We found a blueberry on the floor and it looked like somone spilled a fruit drink on the bedspread. The breakfast was good and the coffee was also good. The location is also convenient and very close to old town. Parking in the underground parking was small and hard to navigate, it was also a little pricey. In all, the stay wasn't bad. It wasn't the best but it also wasn't amazing. I feel that the 8.6 it received is a little high. I would rate it closer to a 7.5

I have to admit I expected a bit more as far as the room for the price we paid, almost $400 a night. We did not need an ADA room, but we wouldn't have cared....except the ADA room #141 is right next to a access door from the outside to room nubered in the lower 100's. It was very noisy all night with people entering and exiting through that door, which slams shut. Also the AC is quite loud and the room outdated. Even with the location being in Old Town, it was overpriced for the quality of the rooms. It reminded me more of a freeway offramp Super 8 unfortunately.

Its great location next to Old Town made walking through that area—with plenty of dining options—fun and convenient. It’s a very basic hotel, however, with average breakfast foods. Our room was fairly dark, and the mattresses felt old—the kind you sink into. The rubber on one arm of the rolling desk chair was partially missing.

The room we were assigned was worn down and needs serious updating and maintenance. Mold found in bathroom. Sliding closet doors were stuck and did not slide close. Blackout curtains did not close properly. $25/day for parking is highway robbery, but parking fee seems par for the course for the hotels in the area. Free breakfast was better than most commuter-type hotels. Pool/spa area was nice. Interior courtyard was nice.

Many options to purchase food or go out to eat are within walking distance. The bed was horrible - it was time to be replaced. Extremely soft and you would roll into the middle of the bed. It was terrible. Both beds in our room were in this condition. Also, there needs to be better signage out front when parking to check in. The sign currently there states its for Uber or Lyft pickup or drop off. If one inadvertently goes in the driveway for the parking garage (which is a $30 per day charge) you cannot get in without a keycard. When trying to backup and park on the street, you will scrap and possibly damage the underneath of your vehicle due to the way the driveway was built unless you are able to a 3point turn. Very difficult!! More information regarding parking at this location needs to be communicated to those deciding to stay here

Mid experience. Booked a king suite. They put me in a first floor room right by the stairs and ice machine. Very noisy. Not much soundproofing between floors. Condition of the room was slightly below average. Some stained ceiling tiles. Nice location though.

I'm starting off by saying I love this hotel, especially the service! Fantastic location. This time a couple glitches. Bad internet froze the TV several times as well as my electronic devices. Also, I had put my delicious dinner leftovers in the fridge only to find in the morning the fridge was turned off! I hadn't checked because it's always on. When I mentioned these while checking out, Lindon (?) was so kind and accommodating. Like always, excellent service.

This use to be my favorite place to stay. It looks like there is new front desk staff her and manager on evening shift they all lack customer service skills . I can't believe I payed to stay here so dissatisfied and disappointed ! Housekeeping was what made this stay bearable . They are so kind and caring not like front desk staff and manager . I have stayed here so many times lots but I will never book here again

Housekeeping did not visit our room during our two night stay. We ran out of facial tissues the first afternoon (there were only four when we arrived). Our bath towels weren't refreshed after our first night. We resorted to using the poolside towels (for which we were very grateful) - but even after informing the front desk that we needed bath towels - and the front desk said they'd get right on it - we never received fresh towels. We were a family of four. So, that was very inconvenient, and frankly irritating. Beds were never made - except by us. That was okay. But had we run out of bathroom tissue - we would have really been upset. The tip off that housekeeping was lackadaisical was that on our arrival date, they were still standing around visiting in the hallways until nearly 5:00pm. Not doing much of anything. It's a shame, because the hotel is well located, and the breakfast is nice. Manager was unconcerned about our situation.

I booked 2 rooms through Expedia and I called the hotel 3 days before our stay to confirm everything. My 2 rooms were confirmed and I was given my hotel reservation #. When we arrived, the staff could only find 1 room for me. I was told to contact Expedia. I only got an automated message. I entered all my info including the itinerary # Expedia provided. I had it on my phone and verified I was entering the correct #. It kept saying they couldn't find my info. The hotel was booked and it was looking like I was going to have to cancel my 1 room and try to find another hotel. After an hour, the desk clerk called hotels.com herself and spoke to someone. They finally found my reservation. The other horrible thing that happened was the parking garage. When u enter, the sign says 6' clearance. However, when you are leaving, it drops down to a 5'8" clearance. The roof of my husband's truck was torn up and he had to work with the staff to get his truck out. We will be filing a claim. The staff themselves were nice but what a terrible experience.

It’s located near Old Town, which is easily walkable from the hotel. The hotel’s “look” fits with the surrounding area and all in all it was a great stay and location. If we go back to San Diego, I’ll stay closer to the water and downtown area, but this worked for our family and it was easily drivable to locations we wanted to see.

Upon arrival there was construction going directly in front and along the hotel entrance. Luckily the parking area is underground and secure. Staff was friendly enough and the breakfast was better than most. But I would not have expected any less for the price of this location. It's extremely close to Old Town so very walkable and convenient.

The room was clean. The building is a little old but it has been decently cared for. The location was perfect. Close to the freeway so easy access to all of San Diego. We walked into Old Town multiple times. It is rare to get a room with a real door these days and this one had it.

This hotel is great! Wherever in San Diego Old Town is our place. You can walk to all the eateries! Great food, and shopping 10 minutes from Airport, and 5 minutes from Marine Corps Base (boot camp)

We chose the Fairfield in Old Town for two reasons - it offered a free breakfast and was within easy walking distance to the Old Town Trolly. No regrets whatsoever, we enjoyed our 5 night stay. Although the hotel is dated, it was in a safe area, premises was very clean, bed was comfortable, front staff were friendly and helpful and no issues with bathroom/hot water at all. We looked forward to breakfast every morning. The overall atmosphere was happy and cheerful, smiling faces everywhere. We would definitely stay there again.

Walking distance to Old Town and convenient to both the I-5 and I-8 freeways. Room was comfortable and clean, although the bathroom fixtures are due for a refresh. They were painting the exterior while I was there, so hopefully the interiors were next. Might be why the rate was so attractive. Nice breakfast with eggs, breakfast meat and a daily special. Waffle maker and breakfast breads of course.
