Wyndham Garden San Diego near SeaWorld

Everything was out of service during our stay….pool and spa both closed and so was the gym. Also found out the ice machine near our room was out of service. Room was clean, no issues. Some shady characters around the area and in the parking lot. Rooms near street super noisy avoid that area if can.

This is a ONE star motel NOT a Wyndham hotel. ##Fraud alert, they charge $20 per day to park! Not in the fine print of my reservation.

Elevator out of order all weekend. Had to drive from room to lobby if needed anything.

I enjoyed my stay , I didn’t like how parking was $20 per night and my car was still out in the open no protection; I feel as if it should be included. Besides everyone was super friendly and the room was clean

The elevator did not work our entire stay had to use the emergency escape stairs to get our room. Which was very annoying to carry all our luggage up the stairs. The gym was closed also our entire stay.

Throughout the stay, no housekeeping done (didn’t even see any staff) hot tub, not in service and conducting construction so very noising in the early hours

Hotel should not try and make you pay for parking. The parking fee was not shown on the Hotles.com web page, so I asked that the fee be waived.

Parking spots were small for longer /larger cars. Elevator was broken entire stay. Cleaning staff was very nice.

The room was adequate, the noise from the airport was annoying from the plane’s taking off and the pool and jacuzzi were not open due to some kind of issues that the management wouldn’t disclose other than that it was adequate.

Property is giant , slow check in, costs to park($20 per night) . Room is not quiet enough , have a smoke detector right above the head rest with its blue light beaming on you and the occasional red light coming on and off. No carpet on the walk way , whi h makes it load for passers by . But it is nicely located near the ocean , SeaWorld and many restaurants and shopping nearby. Panera bread is in the Property with 15% off too.

It was a peaceful stay and cleanliness was top notch

Roaches were found in the room, we moved to another one and there was a roach in there too

Hotel was pretty dirty and uncomfortable. More like a motel. I couldnt let my family stay there so we left as soon as we got into the room. Will be requesting a refund.

Wyndham has charged my card $117 and $100 for incidentals when I didn’t even use anything on property and I already paid for my stay in full through Expedia. Our room had a roach in it and the floor was very dirty.

the hotel was very clean and the front desk was very friendly

The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was nothing fancy but it wasn't expensive. The towels and beds seem clean. The small fridge works fine. There was a large spider in the trash bin so I had to kill it. Then there was a small cockroach that I also killed. We didn't see any other bugs. The tub has a bit of rush near the drain. It's close to the airport so you will hear the planes; especially after 6 am. Overall, average place but we wouldn't go back because of the bugs.

Rooms were clean, but smelt like mold every night. Needs to be repainted. Not safe at night, too many homeless & shady people out. One night heard sounds like explosions & sirens. Plus, they charge $20 per night for parking. Never paid for parking unless I was staying at a high-end hotel, this is just an old looking hotel.

Filthy floors, leaking AC in room, housekeeping services were terrible as they didn’t change sheets.

Pros: I truly appreciated the reliable, excellent daily room service over my three-day stay. The in-room coffee maker and refrigerator were also welcome conveniences. Cons: Major issues with essential amenities and environment. The pool was padlocked early, despite posted "open" hours, leading to disappointment. My room's sliding windows were permanently locked, preventing any fresh air circulation. Furthermore, the lobby had a persistent, nauseating odor. Finally, the old, rickety elevators felt highly unreliable and concerning.

Parking is limited especially arriving after 10pm. Kinda noisy hearing footsteps above floor and other's television sound definitely not soundproof. Room shows some wear down but liked the wood floor as it help subside my allergy a bit. Bed are comfortable no doubt, shampoo, conditioner and body wash are a plus along with the coffee pods. By the way , your receptionist were amazingly friendly both check in and out.

Average 2 star. The room was dank when I got in. My card stopped working when I returned at night. I had to get it reissued.

Location was close to the colleges but otherwise the property itself needs updating. The elevators didn’t work and the parking spaces were extremely narrow. The lampshade was made of paper and leaning over. Just not used to staying in a place like this.

Pros: lobby was beautiful and check in was great. The room is average and clean. Cons: the Wi-Fi didn't work for our kids devices. Went to Panera bread on the property which states they close at 9 but we went at 8:40 and the doors were locked already.

It was just noisy. We could hear all the noises outside our door as people or cars passed by. However, it was pretty close to downtown and for the price and cleanliness, I’ll take the noise! The staff was also very nice and helpful!

Huge room and great staff. Property has a lot of stuff near by and is a cool place to stay.

You can hear planes taking off all night, only one chair in the room unless you use the shower seat, could use an update.

The room was spacious and clean. Even with being next to a busy road, it was pretty quiet. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the shower had good water flow. Would stay there again.

We had the best sleep! Their black out curtains really made the difference. And not to mention the room was supplied with amazing shampoo/conditioner and body wash. Nothing cheap either they had Dove. Definitely will be coming back ☺️

Checkin was fast and easy. He was very polite. Went to my room and the room was very clean. The cleaner was also very polite.The only thing I have to say is that the elevator needs to be fixed it sounds scarey. Other then that and the $20.00 parking this is one.of.the best hotel we.stayed at.

I booked this hotel because the price was relatively low compared to other options and I liked the proximity to the zoo and other places I wanted to go with my family. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was clean and did the job as a place to stay. However, I would not stay here again. The street our room was located on was filled with people sleeping in their cars. Then the room next to ours had a couple who parked their car directly in front of our room and sat in it from sunup to sun down smoking and running their car. We complained because it was very strange to have someone who could see into our room anytime we came and went and we could literally smell the exhaust from their car and hear it running the entire time. They would also stare at us when we were outside. But because they were guests, hotel said they couldn’t do anything. The was for three days of our stay. Then on our final night, there was outrageously loud drunk people pounding around above us until 4 AM and people arguing and yelling outside our hotel room until late in the night. While hotels can’t control who books a room with them, I would think there would be better standards or methods of having there be quiet hours or kicking people out for outrageous behavior. It was my first time travelling with my children who are 3 years old and 5 months old and it blows me away that we were the quietest guests. I would rather spring for a better hotel in the future than stay here again.

Great service from the front desk staff and maintenance. Exceptional service from the older black gentleman that works security. We didn’t get his name but we wanted to give a shout out to him for all his help.

The Wyndham looked great on the website and the property is where we needed to be for the area. My group came for fishing and we needed a place to crash after getting off our boat. We got off the boat earlier than expected so we called and asked if we could do an early check-in and the receptionist agreed upon around noon. We called again to make sure, and they said 2pm. We actually arrived at 3pm, which was our original check in time. The room was not even ready yet! They had to page out the house keepers to clean it ASAP. It took another 30 mins. We were tired and dirty from our fishing trip that it was just annoying that we had to wait longer. Overall, would not stay here again due to lack of professionalism towards customers, keep their word.

We prepaid for two nights and they did not honor the pre-payment. Finally, a different employee named Heather came to the day and rescued Ware. We could stay one night. However, we basically were shipped a night by the system. Horrible!

would love to give this a 5 star but one person can ruin it for everyone that did great. When we arrived at the hotel, the front desk host was rude, not very polite, no smile, no thank you for coming in , nothing her whole demeanor was very negative. Not a good impression for the hotel. We got there about an hour early, couldn’t check in right away which is fine with me, but after that first encounter we were talking about not going back to hotel because of the lady host, I don’t know her name but she was young had long hair with a blonde highlight streak. We ended up going back, but we planned on going somewhere else if we got the same negative attitude/vibe that we got earlier, we were were not staying. Thank fully when we went back we had two other new people attend to us, one was a manager I believe, which was training a new employee and they were both wonderful, everything went well and I was very happy to feel addressed in the right manner, we did thanked them and expressed our feelings from earlier. They did apologize to us. Well today we checked out, same rude lady attended us, waited a while before she came to the desk, I told her I was checking out, she said ok leave keys there, nothing more nothing less, but in a bothered rude way. And As I was there waiting for my mother in law to check out she answered a call, the person on the other end asked them about check out because the front desk lady said no just leave the keys in the room, the customer must of asked them

I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with my recent stay at Wyndham Garden San Diego Near SeaWorld which significantly impacted the quality of my trip. Upon arrival, I quickly discovered that there was no hot water available on the first day of my stay. When I called the front desk to inquire about this issue, I spoke with Paul, who was not only unapologetic but also appeared clearly bothered and dismissive of the situation. His unprofessional demeanor only added to the frustration and disappointment I felt. Further compounding the poor experience, the sink in my room was backed up, creating an unsanitary and unpleasant environment. When I raised this concern with another front desk staff member, Justin, I was met with an unacceptable response. Rather than addressing the problem, Justin stated that because I booked through Expedia, the issue was essentially not the hotel's responsibility. This response was completely unprofessional and demonstrated a lack of accountability and basic customer service. I chose your establishment with the expectation of receiving the quality and service typically associated with your brand. Unfortunately, my expectations were sorely let down at every turn. The handling of both the maintenance issues and the customer service interactions fell far below any reasonable standard.

This review is based on accommodating my reservation booked through hotels.com. I arrived late because I went to dinner with my co-workers after our Saturday seminar. Around 8pm, the front desk informed me that hotels.com had double booked me and that they were completely booked and no rooms were available. I’ve been using hotels.com for years and never once has this ever happened at a 4 star hotel. Unfortunately, due to last minute issues, this was first time booking at a 2 star. 4-5 star hotels wouldn’t give your room away and blame it on a third party.

My check-in process was unacceptable. The clerk immediately assumed I spoke Spanish based solely on my appearance, as Frank greeted me in Spanish. This kind of racial profiling is not only inappropriate but also unprofessional, especially in today's climate. Yes, I am Hispanic, but it is completely erroneous to assume someone's language based on looks. Furthermore, when I referred to him as "sir," Frank insisted I use his name instead. I explained that it's a habit from my upbringing in Texas, and he dismissively remarked that he didn’t hear a twang in my voice. This comment was both unnecessary and inappropriate. Does he address all customers in their native languages? I highly doubt it, which highlights the need for him to maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with everyone, regardless of personal biases or assumptions.

Staff at front desk was very professional and friendly. Room had plenty of space for our family.

Place is terrible up kept. The area around is filled with homeless, strip clubs, its a weird situation. Lots of nice decent places but moxed with trash

Good location

This is a great property. Convenient to the zoo and Sea World. Room was super spacious. Bonus was a discount to Panera adjacent to the property.

It was a good hotel, there was not any breakfast but Panera shares the parking lot. It was clean and well maintained, the sliding door on the bathroom stuck. The hotel itself is nice. It was close to sea world the beaches and the bay.

Staff very friendly. Quality of room not expected for price. Area around property appeared unsafe.

A lot of restaurants near by. Close to old town as well.

I stayed for two days with two kids. I felt safe, they do have night security. I felt comfortable leaving my BMW in the parking lot despite the large homeless population in the area. target, ross, grocery store all within two miles.

Stayed at this location as it was close to Sea World. Its a little older but very clean. Precheck online and checkout made getting and returning room keys a breeze. Would stay here again. Staff was friendly and showed which direction to view the Sea World Firework show as we could see it from hotel.

Great service, clean rooms. Location is great, 10 min drive to the beach, lots of areas to eat that are walkable. Phil’s BBQ is across the street. My favorite is Los panchitos for fish tacos.

It was nice, complimentary breakfast would have been a great addition. Room was a lil noisy by the fire station and the back of a Home Depot but nothing really can be done about that. Overall it was nice

Room was clean, staff was nice. Did not like paying per night , per vehicle. Also, no breakfast or kitchen as advertised. Location convenient as long as you’re ok with homeless and the smell of urine.
