I like the location. What I didn't like: 1) gym was too too small 2) the control panel for heater / cooler in my room was confusing to use. I wish there can be a manual or instruction 3) there was a smell in the room, probably due to recent remodeling 4) hallways need better visual guidance and landmarks because all corners and hallways looked the same, which makes people get lost easily 5) the toaster was broken in my room - I wish the staff could have checked it before I moved in

Overall great experience with exception of reception, lobby, and dinning are, & hallways. Very uncomfortable inside while very nice outside. Did mention areas mentioned above seem hotter than usual made it it uncomfortable. They said they would address it and militance would be informed. After a second time I was told this was the first time of a reporting and was the only guest to do so maybe true however other guest also mention an unconfutable lobby. Room was clean and nice with a musty order either of fresh pain or humidity exposed to furniture in the room. Breakfast was an excellent option with very nice choices. Otherwise all in all I would possible rebook for this locati0on.

The whole overnight stay experience was great, clean and well appointedroom👌 The only two things I personally did not like: 1. The hotel charges for a room single parking space fee and it is not disclosed unless you ask, at checkout. Another way to increase room fees, but appear more competitive 😏 Sad to see that, not like it used to be. 2. Continental Breakfast was over by 9:30 am, I feel 10 am is more accommodating to guests 🙄...

Nice and helpful staff, didn't like: They don't provide daily house keeping, u have to tell them 24 hours in advance, otherwise, they will give u only towels. Side hotel parking entrances were broken, we had to walk all the way to the front main entrance. Breakfast, no so many options (no cheese at all), and toast machine kept breaking down, creating chaos. toilet tank broke, water kept running, we turned off from valve. Some areas in room, needed major maintainance, wall paper has came off. Parking fees were not mentioned on expedia site (as with many expedia information provided for hotels)

Pool and hot tub were unusable. Cloudy and yellowish. For $400 a night I’d like to be able to use the pool. Front desk said they’d call when a room was available and they didn’t. Room was ok but the pull out couch wasn’t great. We had to call for a blanket. Breakfast was good. Probably not staying there again when we go back to San Diego.

The property was very clean, nice and quiet. The pool and hot tub were excellent. The only downside is that you have too pay to park on property which is weird since we rented a room, not sure why the hotels in California require customers to pay to park? Breakfast was great. Staff were excellent.

It's not worth the price paid. I've already visited 26 American states, staying in several properties, including Homewood, Residence inn, Home2 Suites, among other brands. This is by far the worst I've ever been to. Arriving at the room offered, it smelled of mold. They doubted me, until the cleaning team went to the place and also noticed the unbearable smell. They didn't give another room and only after many hours and complaints, they passed an ozone machine that only reduced the smell. I had to stay for 3 more days in this room and the hotel treated me as if I was doing a favor, because I paid for the shipping. In addition, the room is old, not even looking like a Homewood. Anyway, look for another hotel.

The room 213 had an awful smell and the staff was not able to address or change our room, they were genuinely concerned but the odor definitely ruined our stay. I have stayed at the property multiple times and will definitely think twice again about staying here

The Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego-Del Mar is a really great place to stay. It's clean. The area is really safe and quiet. The room was great too. I got the one bedroom suite with a kitchen. The room was small but it was clean and had everything I need. It had a mini kitchen with a stove, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, dishwasher and toaster. Also, all the basic utensils and cookware you'll need is also available inside the cabinets. The bedroom was neat too and the bathroom was a decent size. I also love the fact that they have free breakfast and it was not bad. Everything you need for a basic breakfast is in there too such as, egg, sausage, hashbrown, cereals, yougurts, waffles, pastries, juices and coffee. Overall, I really like my stay at Homewood Suites by Hilton San Diego-Del Mar.

When I arrived, the property was under construction and not in great shape. When I walked into the room and turned the lights on, I immediately noticed a sink in the kitchen was clogged, flooded and dripping onto the hardwood floor. I called front desk and got another room. The second room had only a portable air conditioner and was right above the pool area. Because its a portable AC, the window could not be closed, and the noise from the pool was disruptive. The place was fairly clean except for the hairs in the shower. I wouldn't stay here again.

These suites were awesome for my large family. We had the two bedroom suite. It had a decent kitchenette. The free WiFi was actually decent. The tv selection was nice and with three different tvs in the room. There were a few ants in the bathroom but we killed them and it wasn’t a big deal. The free breakfasts in the morning were actually really awesome. They need to open up the ballroom for additional seating as my kids had to eat while standing and we couldn’t take it back to our room as the table in the room is tiny. Overall, I would come back here again.

Our requested room was not ready upon arrival and check in time. We waited about an hour or so before it was ready which in conveniences our plans for the night. The follow day we requested new bedding for both beds and it never arrived. We were told someone would come change our bedding but they never did. We called later that night and were only given sheets. Our stay was okay for the three nights.

Appreciate for accomodating mewith shower chair for being disable. The location where they placed me was noisy . Kids and people were running beteeen the hallways and bagging exit door till 1030 pm. Requested for wake up call for morning 530 am for my flight but they forgot to wake me up . Not planning to stay in such location again

Great staff and wonderful breakfast buffet! Kids were able to eat good healthy breakfasts throughout our stay, the coffee was always hot and the food was always fresh. Everything was between 5-30 minutes away and the Bistro 39 next door had great food and bev options when we didn’t feel like cooking on our stove in room. Pool was well kept and the hot tub was excellent to relax after long days walking. Thank you Homewood Suites!

The breakfast was very good -- better than the average hotel continental breakfast. We appreciated the breakfast taco bar one morning. It's nice to have fresh fruit and lots of protein options, not just carbs. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Heated pool and hot tub were great in the cool of November. Parking was readily available and convenient. There were some renovations taking place, but we didn't notice any inconvenience. The only thing we wished for was more restaurants and shopping nearby. The hotel seems to be in more of a business/industry location. But it was easy to find and to drive to and from activities.

Overall great hotel with Kitchen in the rooms. The rooms are clean and functional, but outdated. I believe they are in the process of renovating the rooms but not sure when that is expected to be done. I saw no construction activity but there were signs posted with pictures of the new designs. Breakfast was wonderful. They had scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, cereals, oatmeal, waffle station, OJ, milk, apple juice, bread, bagels, muffins, etc. Kids had a great time.

Hidden gem. Arrived late (1030 pm) but reception was as fresh as if it was daytime. I was welcomed with great enthusiasm. Room upgraded and very comfortable. Plenty of space to move. And omg, that breakfast. I did not expect carnitas breakfast, hot sausage, well made scrambled eggs, waffles

The first room I stayed in smelled like I was breathing in mold. I had to switch rooms because the smell was so bad. One of the days we were there the water was shut off all day. The front desk staff was rude when asked when the water would be on and handed me two water bottles and said I can take a shower with those. Very unprofessional. Would not recommend staying here!
