We really enjoyed our overall stay at this property — the room was comfortable, and the experience inside the hotel was great. However, there are two major issues worth pointing out. First, the windows in our room were very dirty, which made it hard to fully enjoy the view we paid for. Second, and most importantly, the parking experience has been a nightmare. While our car was parked in the hotel’s lot (for which we paid over $100 for two nights), corrosion from the ceiling dripped onto our car. At first, we didn’t realize how serious it was, but after washing the car, the paint peeled off both sides, leaving us with over $1,000 in damage. When I called the hotel, I spoke with Ashley (the operator). Instead of offering any accountability or support, she told me to “contact the owner of the parking lot” — even though this is the Marriott Marquis parking lot. When I pressed for help, she became dismissive, pretended not to hear me, and then hung up on me. This was shocking and extremely unprofessional. I now have to go through my insurance to fix the damage, but I’m very upset that a hotel of this caliber would wash its hands of the problem so quickly. Guests deserve better support and accountability, especially when parking is this expensive.

There were a ton of hidden fees. I’ve heard of hotels with hidden fees but have never experienced it until now. We ended up paying an additional $250 for parking and “destination fees.” Parking is $55 a night. Our room was really loud. There’s a train right outside. We had a city view room but couldn’t see anything because the window was dirty on the outside. You’ll hear a loud train every ten minutes and cars honking. Also the parking lot is really small and narrow. It was really hard to find parking, especially in the evening. Way overpriced. We won’t be back.

They only had 2 of the six elevators working in out tower and we were on the 25th floor. Spent a lot of time waiting to get up or down and crowded elevators. Sometimes 40min.

The Marriott Marquis is a beautiful property. I love the lazy river shaped pool and the whole vibe outside, with the palm trees, the lights, and the fire pits. I like how you could walk to the Seaport shops and the Gaslamp and Petco stadium. I liked the view of the marina, and walking to the ferry that takes us to Coronado Beach. It is a short ride to the airport.

So we got checked in, and made it to our room. With in 20 minutes saw our 20 month old pick something up from floor. Went and took it from him, it was a pill left behind from previous guest. Then spent next 30 minutes checking every inch of floor for any more. This also led me to realize floor appeared to not have been vacuumed in a while, lot of hair and stuff in corners and such. Then to sleeping the bed was way to soft for our comfort level. The pillows while large in size, was also super soft, would wrap around your head like a big u. My first time trying a Marriott Resort, and also likely my last. Not to mention the restraunts and shops were extreamly overpriced.

There was a couple hairs in the bathtub. 3 out of the 5 elevators on south tower did not work the morning of Saturday 19th of July and it was somewhat chaotic.

I had a great experience at this hotel! Everything was spotlessly clean, and the service was excellent!friendly, helpful staff made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The location is also a big plus—within easy walking distance to lots of entertainment, restaurants, and attractions. I would definitely stay here again! The only thing I’d note is that the parking structure could use some improvements—it was a bit dark and felt somewhat isolated at times. Better lighting and visibility would make it feel safer. Still, overall a fantastic stay. Highly recommend!

Place was nice. My room had a weird smell, and there was some weird clicking noice that wouldn’t stop when the AC was running. Lobby smaller like wet carpet. Amenities where good and pool side was great

Super nice property, great pools. The hotel was nice enough to let us check in early since our flight was early. Parking was not easy but that’s common for downtown San Diego. Our room never really got cool- even with a/c set to 65. The comforter and sheets were not the best, kinda thin and came apart easily when moving around in bed. The in room coffee maker was not great plus only two coffee pods, but there was a Starbucks in the lobby that we used instead. Overall was a nice place and I would stay here again.

Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience and felt dismissed whenever I expressed my concerns. On our first night, my toddler and I were awoken multiple times to people blasting loud music in the hallway and partying past 1 am. At 3 am we could hear people puking outside the room. During the duration of our stay, the hallway reeked of vomit. The phone in our room did not work for the entirety of our stay, so there was no way to ask for assistance whenever needed, which was clearly needed many times. On the third day, after a long day of exploring with my tired toddler, we came back to find ourselves locked out of our rooms. The battery to our door had died, causing our room keys to no longer work. Still, there was little concern over the inconvenience this caused having to wait for someone to fix the door. On our last morning, I called the front desk from my cell phone (since our room phone still was not working) to ensure that I could use my food credit without being charged. I was assured I would not be, only to find later that I was indeed charged along with valet parking fees when I used self-parking for my entire stay. All of the inconveniences with the price this hotel charges is absolutely ridiculous.

Fantastic visit. We were celebrating a birthday and the person was sent cupcakes by the bell staff. Absolutely thoughtful. All staff was awesome and friendly. The pool was perfect. And we enjoyed the bar for a late night drink. Everything was top notch. Our room faced the bay with a balcony. It was very comfortable. Would stay here again over and over

Check Your credit card statement and Be Prepared for Poor Service Make sure to check your credit card statement after your stay — I was overcharged and had to contact them to fix it.(not solved) Also, my room had an unpleasant smell. I asked to change rooms, but the hotel firmly said they couldn’t do anything about it. Overall, not a great experience. Just something to keep in mind before booking.

We booked a room for the weekend, but when we arrived to check in we were told that they were overbooked and we could not stay there even though our room had been confirmed through Expedia. Had to stay at another hotel over in Coronado which was quite inconvenient because our plans were to walk from the hotel to Petco Park for the Padres games that weekend. Ended up having to commute back and forth via Uber. Have yet to see a refund for our room. Quite disappointed.

The hotel will not let you use the app if you booked through Expedia. You can’t use the virtual also due to this. No points or stays are recorded due to this also. I paid more than 2500$ for a 4 day visit but it was not enough. Hilton in the other hand treats you much better. There was limited staff and it took us more than an hour to get our room key replaced (there was only 4 people ahead of us) poorly run facility. I recommend the Hilton next door for real hospitality experience.

Patrick at the Registration was very welcoming! I drove to San Diego for work! He knew from the traffic and the drive I looked discombobulated. I arrived late due to traffic and lane closures. In other words, I ran in traffic for 3 hrs. Without hesitation, he made my registration smooth and gave me directions to my room and open cafe to have snacks. That’s the way to greet guests!!!!

I checked in and was not told about a mandatory charge for the property. This charge was in conflict with what Expedia advertised. When I tried to resolve this with the manager he offered what I would consider a non-solution. Escalating to their corporate customer service was even more frustrating. I will not return to the property nor will I choose this brand of hotel in the future after twenty years of patronage.

I absolutely cannot wait to return to the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina. The location and view was fantastic! The staff exceptionally responsive and everyone delightfully nice. Honestly best Marriott experience I have enjoyed in years! And I have had other good ones!

It is the perfect place to visit San Diego, the marina is close, Gaslamp quartier is close, everything at walking distance. And the atmosphere in the evening is magic, with fireplaces in the pool garden (even in august) and lot of lights. It was an amazing stay.

This is a beautiful resort style hotel in downtown San Diego on the water. East walking distance to many shops and restaurants along the water, and also the Midway and Maritime Museums, which we found fascinating. Watch out for the $45/day "destination charge." We did not sample the hotel's several restaurants, except for the "market" with coffee, pastries, yogurt, etc. There is a beautiful pool area behind the hotel great for swimming and sunning. Probably the finest such haven in San Diego. Close to the airport. Enjoyed seeing the aircraft carriers tied up across the bay and the ship traffic so ask for water views, the higher the better.

The hotel is located on the harbor, close to the Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum and Convention Center, and you can take a walk along the harbor. Guests can take public transportation to the San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park. Nice room and beautiful view.

Overall nice hotel but quite busy . Waitstaff isnt exactly the friendliest. Twenty three bucks for grilled cheese and soup bit silly. But one of the best steaks I ever had. Little bit of mold in the shower was quite disheartening. Fantastic view.

Very nice!!! It was six of us, we went to eat at the downstairs restaurant Marina, they automatically add approx $50 to the total for parties with 6 guests- dinner was great but morning buffet was mediocre. Rooms are very nice, great views of downtown. The hotel is great! Beautiful, clean and has great hours to heated pool- 6am to 10pm. Parking was easy and no extra charge for guests.

This is my favorite hotel in San Diego! Roy's restaurant was a disappointment but you can't have everything. It's in a great location, safe, there's ample parking, and valet.

Beautiful property with very responsive and kind staff. The rooms were good, but not the biggest and the walls were rather thin. The kids loved the pool and walking by the marina. Room service from The Marina was lovely, just wish it had a few more options. My family would stay here again!
