Vinland Hotel and Lounge

Although it is an older facility, it has been updated nicely. Received a surprising upgrade to the Alma Rosa suite, enjoyed that very much. 3 night stay, did not eat here but the V lounge was great for a nightcap each evening with attentive and knowledgeable bartenders. Hot tub was small but relaxing after a day of golf or wine tasting.

Nice pool and walkability. There was some hair in the soap dish and the bartender (AJ) was terrible and the street was noisy. Otherwise, the room was nice and comfortable. And the proximity to all that we wanted to do was nice.

Front desk personnel were friendly and efficient. Pool was great. Room was clean, bath robes were a nice touch, nice to have a Tesla super charger in parking garage. Only negative aspect was very slow elevator.

Great location. I booked the King with the balcony Valley view. It was quiet except first night, but that was a bunch of rambunctious kids above me however, the hotel did put a stop to it. The pool is very tiny. The lounge and bar are really nice and they have a great happy hour. Staff was very attentive.

The furnace was soooooo loud, no way we could run it much. Definitely not at night. Tesla destination charger was a super bonus

We stayed at Vinland Hotel for a weekend, Saturday-Monday. It was walkable to restaurants and shops in Solvang and a convinient drive to the mission, several wineries and even a lavender farm. I enjoyed the spacious balcony and the friendly staff. My only issue with this hotel was its limited parking. On one night, we were unable to find parking in the hotel and were told to park on the street. We did, but wished it hadn't been an issue.

Old property but nicely renovated. Underground parking. Friendly staff. Excellent location. Hotels.com VIP gets you free breakfast at Olsen’s Bakery down the street! The rooms are cute, with wine country theme. They are not well noise insulated, but otherwise comfortable. Mimosas in the lobby every weekend morning! Great bath products. We stayed for two nights and any room servicing had to be especially requested. In any hotel that claims a high level of service, I find this annoying.

Lovely stay; attentive receptionists, maintenance teams seemed very happy to be there, and the bartender at the lounge had a really nice chat with us before starting our night off. He recommended Clean Slate for cajun night and it was amazing. The hotel is on the end of Solvang but everything was very walkable. We took a dip in the pool and temperature was perfect. Just a really nice time.

Perfect location! Walking distance to everything! Will definitely come back! It’ll be better if EV charger was a universal kind, to cater all EV and not just one make. Other than that, its a great and safe place to stay!

Overall nice property, some elevator challenges

property is walking distance from the town and several restaurants. Room cleanliness was an issue as you can tell the room was not thoroughly cleaned. Found hair in sink and in shower upon arrival

It's nice, for an old hotel. Staff were great. Live music and happy hour reception were great. Clean and spacious rooms that were remodeled a while back (quite a while back), and need another update. Building is old and the rooms and hallway smell old and musty. It was fine for one night, but considering the price, I expected better.

The external facade and lobby are nice — and quite misleading. Be warned! The pictures on the website do not accurately represent the actual experience. As you navigate the property from the parking garage through exterior and interior hallways you quickly realize how distressed the property is. They tout a recent renovation, but the skid marks on the walls and baseboards signal otherwise. My room also had rust in the refrigerator, filthy floor flange on the toilet and black mold in the shower. Also, the website states housekeeping upon request. Not true! They offer it once after 3 days. Again, completely misleading. DO NOT PAY more than $150 per night for this hotel. It just isn’t worth it and they refuse to acknowledge or address the gap in charging $391 per night (holiday premium) for a sub-standard room and hotel experience relative to the website description. Do yourself a favor — for any rate over $200 per night (max for a holiday) — stay somewhere else or choose another time to visit Solvang. I wish I knew this before booking. I would’ve done the same! It isn’t worth paying Ritz Carlton rates for a Motel 6 experience, even in the quaint and lovely city of Solvang.

Overall it was okay. The room was just a little odd. It looks like it was recently renovated and some of the work looked very patchy. The cleanliness also didn’t seem up to par. There were some stains on the sofa and saw some sunflower seeds on the floor. And housekeeping didn’t stop by during our stay. It was disappointing to return to an unmade bed. :(

Overall the experience was great. My only issue was the bathroom could’ve been WAY cleaner. There was a stain on the toilet seat that made me question all other cleaning practices.

The hotel and room was very clean and the staff very welcoming. We only stayed 1 night so we didn't get a chance to explore the hotel grounds. I would highly recommend the Vinland to family and friends.

I thought the hotel was very clean. The service was great. The only thing I didn’t like was I did ask for room service to do beds and clean up and they told me that it wasn’t gonna be done unless I was staying there three nights or more so that’s the only thing.

Everything was OK until I got to the room. I got a handicap room and it was dirty.

The bathroom is very dirty, you can see the grimes and dirt at the edge of the sink. The showerhead is caked up with hard minerals and the bathroom door edge is just rusty and filled with grimes. The TV and table area are dusty. However, the staffs are very nice and welcoming.

The rooms can be a little more tidy. There was a lot of spiderwebs, around the mirror fixtures and windows. The pool was not heated and the hallways smelled bad. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay!

A lovely hotel. Excellent rooms - very comfortable beds, clean, lots of space. The hotel is close to everything in Solvang and has a nice bar for the nightcap.

Great night in Solvang with a great property. Very quiet with a very large room. It is at the west end of the city.

Parking was horrible. They put me in a wing that had no parking and did not have any luggage trolleys to move in or out. The gap under the room door let a lot of cold air in and the rain shower was awful. Sometimes you just don’t want to get completely soaked and just want a quick shower. But your staff were fantastic and very helpful when I asked questions or needed more decaf coffees.

Not built like the regular hotel. The walls are very thin. I could hear everyone coming and going outside in the hallway. The balcony was nice. A pity the "valley view" is only the trees immediately in front.

There was some road noise in our odd-numbered room, which faces the road and didn't have sound-dampening windows. The even-numbered rooms face away from the road and would be much better for light sleepers.

Hotel was in walking distance from Solvang and great parking under ground. However, the room a/c was super loud and when not running you can hear the traffic outside.

Great location and parking. We got a room with Valley view but would only get that view if you are on the 2nd floor. I would suggest you ask for 2nd floor for view and to avoid the noise of foot traffic overhead (loud). Our room was simple, clean and large. It did smell pretty musty. The V Lounge is cute and fun. Totally walkable to all of downtown Solvang. We would stay here again.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3 out of 5) This was our second stay at Vinland Hotel and Lounge this year. The first time was wonderful—we had a great time and slept so well. Unfortunately, our second visit wasn’t the same experience. The room felt a bit off, and we couldn’t get comfortable. All night long we heard cars passing by, which made it hard to sleep. On top of that, the AC upstairs wasn’t working properly, so the room felt stuffy. We really enjoyed our first stay, which is why we came back, but this visit left us unsure if we’ll return. Next time, we may consider staying somewhere else.

They took two hours and the room wasn’t ready, we asked a full refund and changed hotel, i will never come back

Check-in was at 3p. We arrived at around 3:40p with our 2 toddlers and we were told the room was not ready. We waited in the lobby until around 4:25 when it was finally ready. We had done our sight-seeing so it was an inconvenience with hot and tired kids, same for us adults. The room had some dusty areas and a used Q-tip on the carpet. Other than that the hotel uses text messages for any help which is convenient and the rooms were a good size and modern.Elevators handy and the restaurant and lobby was fancy looking. Receptionists were nice.

The location is excellent, room was nice, has onsite parking, is pet friendly, has nice amenities, in walking distance to many restaurants and shops. Hotel sent helpful information about area attractions ahead of our stay. Front desk staff were adequate, some were very nice and welcoming. Bar staff was so rude and inattentive we left and never returned.

Beautiful hotel rooms, felt safe and staff was friendly and helpful. Very thorough with their cleaning. Cute back deck off our room.

We had a little trouble with the air conditioner and the maintenance man was there right away. He said it would be best if we moved to a different room. The desk clerk got us a key right away and asked if we wanted help moving our things. The staff was not only helpful and efficient they were so very nice. We look forward to visiting again:)

Our stay at Vinland was great, ez and fast check in. Staff responded quickly with text to get you what you need to feel comfortable. We will definitely return to the Vinland

We arrived a little after 3pm. Room wasn’t ready until 4:15pm. One of the bedside lamps and the clock/radio were unplugged. The heater was very noisy and the temperature inside the room never reached the set level. We were informed that there is no housekeeping service for two-day stays, but that we could request trash take out or a change of towels. On check-out day, while making sure nothing was left behind, we opened one of the drawers and saw a pair of jeans. They weren’t ours, so we assumed they belong to the previous occupants of the room. The fact that they weren’t removed before we were given the room raised concerns as to how well the room was cleaned. We brought this concern to the staff when we checked out, all she said was she will inform housekeeping. We told her that we left the jeans where we saw them. Later in the evening, we got a call from the hotel saying that we left a pair of jeans behind and asking us what we wanted to do with them. We explained again. Again no apologies. We were told that whoever we reported the problem to earlier didn’t make a note of it.

The hotel is nice and clean. Staff isn’t very friendly or welcoming. Check in time is 3pm and we didn’t get our room until 4:15. They gave up an accessible room which we didn’t request. It just felt very unfriendly. The location is great and the hotel is beautiful.

The walk ability to everything in town

The property is very conveniently located on the main street near the edge of town. You can easily park and walk to any place you need to go for shopping, dining, etc. Checking in and out was a breeze and the staff was helpful and courteous. The room itself was large and the beds were comfortable, there were extra towels available, and their custom shampoo, conditioner, and body wash was nice. We did not make use of the pool or check out the lounge, perhaps next time we go.

This hotel is located within walking distance of everything in Solvang. The staff at the hotel was awesome and attentive. When you are there, check out the V Lounge. The bartender was awesome. Great value for the money.

The area is convenient and the room spacious On a first day I Came down to the lounge for drink at 9 pm and the bartender call out sick suppose to close at 11 pm . Second day come down to try the meatball then the chef call out !! . No bell service and didn’t get the pool towel I ask on a second day .

We love the loft room! Three adults can sleep in the same room and all be comfy, such an added bonus. Also, appreciated the complimentary Danish continental breakfast at Olsen’s Danish Village Bakery.

We’ve stayed here before, and it’s a nice spot located on the main stretch in Solvang. Our most recent visit was on Christmas, so prices were inflated—as was the case with most places in the area. The overall quality is fine. The room was spacious and comfortable, but some details missed the mark. For example, the bathroom towels were thin and well-worn, and there were no extras like robes or slippers. Amenities were minimal, with a basic coffee machine, a tiny ancient microwave and mini fridge provided in the room. Our main issue was with the hotel lounge/restaurant. Upon arrival, we asked the receptionist about dining options for Christmas. We were told their lounge was open and served food, which sounded great. After exploring the area, we returned later to find the lounge more of a bar offering limited finger food rather than a full dining experience. The lounge was packed since most local restaurants were closed, and it was clear they were unprepared for the holiday crowd. There was only one overwhelmed waitress and a single person preparing food. They quickly ran out of most items, and the wait for what little was available (we ended up with bread and a kids’ meal of chicken nuggets) took about 90 minutes. We were tired, hungry, and had no other options. To make matters worse, the cost was outrageous: $100 for a couple of drinks and basic bar food. While we should have planned ahead, the hotel could have done the same given the holiday demand.

The lounge drinks were so good!

Room had Nice view of beautiful oak tree. We had light dinner at the bar lounge and it was good. The bartender was fun.

The shower was excellent!! Beds were very comfortable. Lounge was great and had delicious appetizers! I wish they told us about movie night on Saturdays since town closes down early would have been a nice thing to do with my daughter.

Modern, clean and lovely hotel. Excellent location in Solvang. Parking is abundant. And they offer an excellent breakfast coupon at the best bakery in town; Olson’s. Which is a two minute walk. The restaurant is really good. Staff wonderful.

Great location, dog friendly, helpful staff! The food and drinks at the V Lounge were amazing! The bartender is so friendly and makes wonderful drinks! Definitely a must try!
