We had an overnight stay and appreciated the close walking distance to the Theatre. We did not use the pool or spa due to the over abundance of chlorine in the swimming area. The bed was quite comfortable and the shower refreshing.

This property is dirty! After checking in at the front desk, the room we were assigned #28 was dirty, especially the two club chairs. We looked at 2 other rooms #26 & #6. We settled on #6. The recliners are dirty. The one cup coffee maker made a lot of noise and was "Hot" to touch. Other furniture is very worn. The inground pool and spa/hot tub were filthy and both were cold. This area should not be listed as amenities. This morning we went for a walk, when we returned to the room at 8:45am. The room was taken apart by cleaning staff. When we asked the front desk about this, he said he had no idea.

The area around the pool was cracked. Couldn’t step around pool without my sandals. The complimentary breakfast wasn’t what was in the picture. The picture shows cereal and fruit. All they had was danishes, coffee and hot water. I came with my kids and there was nothing for them but danishes. No orange juice, no apple juice, nothing. The lady at the front desk was rude. My kids went looking for breakfast and there was no one at the front desk. We waited maybe twenty minutes or so and went back and the girl was sitting behind her computer. She couldn’t be seen. I asked for coffee and danishes and she said coffee would be put out in 3 min and danishes as well. But I had already gone before that and there was still no coffee and danishes out. She was rude and had a tone on her. Never going back.

My wife and I liked the location. Our room was easily accessible from the parking lot and the parking lot had amble room for my Dodge Ram. It allowed us walk around the town of Solvang. Also, after exploring the sites we were able to cool down and relax in the very clean pool since it was a very warm day. Dining options were within walking distance from your location.

Hotel is run down and old. Desperately needs some maintenance, and new furnishings. We stayed here last minute because of the close location to everything, but we quickly regretted it. Curtains were torn, beds were very old, linens were not clean, everything gave me the "ick" feeling. I honestly couldn't wait to check out. Absolutely will not be staying here again. At least until they update and do some deep cleaning. The front desk staff could also use some customer service training, as they were not very welcoming and didn't provide any information about anything happening at the hotel or if there was breakfast etc...

Svendsgaard's is an extremely old property. It needs a major overhaul and brand new carpets inside and out of rooms. There were some small cockroaches in our unit. The place was clean so I need to give them props for that.

Spa hot enough with good jets but needs resurfacing. Internet basically non-existent, needed to link my computer to my phone to get service. Aircon didn't work. It’s a nice place to stay since it’s located nearby all the shops. It is off the Main Street so you can hear a the traffic from the cars when they pass by, other than that it works for a quick 1 night stay.

Very close walking distance to everything, however the property and room is horrible! Totally run down, room smelled of dirt and chemicals. Ripped and dirty curtains , carpet and furniture. AC unit was loud and unadjustable. Parking lot black top in total disrepair… This place is a dump !

This is a great hotel if you want to feel like you’ve traveled back to 1970’s. Time stood still in this little gem. Nothing updated, I think it still has original paint everywhere. at $200+ a night, it’s a glorified Motel 6. The AC is an ancient relic that used to blow cold air. Sweet! Especially when it’s 100 degrees outside. Driving by you wouldn’t know how bad it is. Exterior looks ok. The worst part about our stay was us being threatened to get kicked out as soon as the front desk guy saw us with scooters. He was so rude and mean, it felt like he caught us selling drugs. We couldn’t bring them inside. Ok fine. Can you be nice about it? We get it. We weren’t about to cause any trouble. If you hate dealing with people so much, go work at an animal shelter. Right off the bat treating to kick us out just because you got scared we’ll burn down the hotel by charging our scooters? We were ok with keeping them in our car, chill out. It wasn’t a big deal. The next morning the girl in front was a lot nicer and actually offered to help us. Overall probably wouldn’t stay here again. They need to get back into 21st centrist and be a little bit more environmentally friendly.

I paid for a room with 2 queen beds but was given a room with full size beds. The air conditioner did not work and the WiFi was down. They refused to accommodate us with a downstairs room as one of our party is handicapped. We tried to use the hot tub in the evening but there were several young kids in it. One playing the kazoo and one dropping bugs into it. When I went to file a complaint the girl at the front desk refused to even take my complaint or get a supervisor. Awful!!!

Whem I checked in the guy at the front desk wasn’t attentive at all it was just a quick check-in no greeting or explanation when checking . Also, when I checked out, the girl didn’t even turn around to acknowledge me when I told her I was checking out.. I asked if I dropped the key in the front box. She said yes didn’t even greet or said thank you

Very large clean room with fireplace. Great location walkable to everything. Check-in was horrible. No one at the desk or answering phone. Major attitude once answered. Railing on second floor walkway very rotted and unstable. Outdoor carpeting torn and missing.

Easy check in and a remodeled room, very minimal decor. The bed was a little hard but everything else was great. I hope they'll be remodeling the rest of the rooms. The staff here is very nice and attentive to the guest needs. They provide Danish in the morning but no extra coffee. The Hotel is a perfect location for your stay in Solvang.

Did not use pool but looked clean and inviting kids will love Across from Mission so quieter end of town . All attractions in walking distance . Recommend a weekday stay .Werkends super crowded with day trippers from LA area . Solvang restaurant about 2 blocks over on Copenhagen has weekday breakfast special for $ 10.50 and that includes coffee ! Abrlskinners? for dessert so worth it but can not buy order if 3 so find someone to share

Breakfast was NOT as depicted in pictures. It was pastries and coffee. Nothing else. Coffee tasted burnt. Office and therefore “breakfast” did not open until 8:00. We reserved for 2 people but in room coffee only had 1 packet. Really? Bed sheets were scratchy and stiff. Not a good nights sleep. Overall room was comfy.

We got a 2 room with 2 queens bed for 4 ppl , but the beds didn't look they were queen size , they were more like twin size vert uncomfortable for 2 ppl to sleep on the same bed, on the app also advertise that the hotel was going to provide continental breakfast which turns out it was coffe ONLY.

Stayed one night the ac was not working properly, the shower door opened backwards so getting in and out of shower was awkward also on the website pictures they show a breakfast bar with cereal beagles fruit milk yogurt coffee and danish bread in reality all they had was a few boxes of danish bread. That’s false advertising not worth $300 a night
