Svendsgaard's Lodge- Americas Best Value Inn & Suites

Hotel room was clean and cozy, the staff were friendly, the hot tub was just right. Nice place to stay for a weekend getaway. Close to everything.

The hotel is old and not taken care of. The room alarm clock was not turned off by cleaning crew. The alarm kept on waking me up. There was a stranger walking around the hotel lurking. Person next door to my room had to confront him and asked him to leave the premises. I can’t say much about the staff. The interaction was very short. For breakfast all they had was a few unpacked Danish pastries, coffee, and tea. It was worth the price. Not to mentioned, they didn’t communicate there was going to be a city event during check in time. Which blocks the entrance to the hotel. I had to be escorted by a police officer to get to the Hotel. Overall, it was disappointing and I won’t stay there again nor do I recommend it.

No work

The room was nice on the corner with lots of windows. But could hear everything upstairs! Dropping things, luggage rolling around, the TV, that was uncomfortable. No filtered water on site to fill up water bottles. Also, small showers (but with excellent water pressure). Bed was also comfy.

The room was clean and you can tell it was just by the smell like it was deep clean which we liked. The smoke detector started to beep and we call the front desk. The guy came up right away and fixed it no problem. The only issues that I noticed was in the bathroom. The shower door was not all the way down in one corner when closed so water leaked out onto the bathroom floor. The shower head needs to be replaced or deep cleaned. It was corroded and had calcium build up pretty bad which made the shower unenjoyable. The bathroom sink had a beer bottle opener attached to it which seemed weird and it was pretty corroded and seemed to be covered in calcium buildup as well. Other than that, everything elsed seem ok for just staying 1 night.
