Amazing stay. Free on side and street parking. Less than a couple minutes walk to shops and restaurants. Best location I could ask for. Bonus, filtered tap water in the room so you don’t need to buy water bottles. Simple breakfast included with Danish pastries and breakfast necessities.

Excellent location, right in the heart of Solvang. The Danish Festival festivities were being set up next to the hotel. Very convenient. The hotel offers danish, granola bars, oatmeal, juice and coffee to get to day started. Enjoyed the jacuzzi and the pool located infront of our room. We reserved the double beds with a patio.

Property was ok over all there was some hair on the shower from the previous person the was there and also on the light breakfast there was no fruit or yogurt like it said there wasn't even anymore coffee i went to get some and there wasn't.

Location was the best thing about this hotel. It was very easy to walk around Solvang, and we found ourselves returning to the hotel several times to drop off our items due to the convenient location. The hotel itself however left some to be desired. The staff was thankfully very friendly. The breakfast was very limited and the room was pretty dirty. There was garbage under our beds and the floor was very dusty. We had to wear socks inside to prevent our feet from turning black. There was also a buildup of yellow mildew in the shower that could be smelt throughout the room and the sheets were stained. No bugs though! We didn’t spend much time in the hotel and I brought my own sheets so it was manageable, however if you are looking for somewhere comfortable this is not the hotel for you.

My experience with this property was very unpleasant. The room had an ant infestation and when I went to the front desk Karyn said, "what do you want us to do about it?" I wanted to be in a room not infested with ants! I think that would be obvious. I wasn't going to post a review at all, but I left behind my pillow. I called to ask if they had found it and when I could have it shipped back, at my expense. Karyn again, being her unpleasant and unhelpful self said, " you left it behind, what do you want from me?" Again,, I would like info on when it will be sent back! I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. I honestly cannot imagine how it has gotten such good reviews unless they're faked. I am willing to overlook a lot, but rude customer service when I have every right to expect the place, I spent close to 900 dollars to stay at, not have an ant problem and a staff that is at the very least polite. Hopefully, my pillow will be sent back soon.

This was a nice clean motel and the staff was excellent. Excellent location. The beds were super soft so 1/2 of us enjoyed the sleep. We stayed 2 nights and really only used the room for sleep and showers so it was a great stay!

I liked the location of my room. Upstairs, back corner. I thought my neighbors were going to be noisy. My daughter pointed out that the window was open. Haha... I closed the window and I slept fine through the night. The AC was easy to use and wasn't too noisy. Really appreciated that! I like that they have coffee in the lobby. I wish more places would do that. They do have coffee in the room too. We did not try the breakfast. I would stay here again.

This is truly a motel-level accommodation. The AC was noisy, the walls were paper-thin, and we had the joy of an arguing couple who snored incredibly loudly next door. The Danish and coffee were a true highlight, but with the lack of water pressure, a stopped sink, and old furnishings, there is a lot to be desired here.

Enjoyed my two-night stay here, right in the heart of Solvang. The room had everything I needed. The bed was comfortable, the A/C worked well. The complimentary breakfast was not exactly gourmet (muffins and danishes, oatmeal, coffee, juice), but it's complimentary so how can you complain? And the WiFi was a bit on the slow side. But given the location and everything else the room had to offer, I would stay here again and recommend it to others.

This is a very cute hotel. The room didnt cost that much yet it came with a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, iron and ironing board. These days if you pay the price we paid for this room you'd be lucky to get a mini fridge. The bed is very comfy and the AC works well.

This was a bestie birthday road trip. Solvang was our home for three nights and we ventured out during the day elsewhere. The fridge wasn’t plugged in when we arrive but didn’t take long to get cold. The office staff was very friendly. Hot tub was too hot, but still relaxing. Danishes for breakfast were very fresh. Coffee was a bit too strong for me. A very quiet hotel. I left something of much sentimental value, called as I was on my way home. They went and retrieved it and mailed it to me. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I asked in my initial booking for a first floor room because my son is disabled. When they responded back about his service dog they completely ignored the request for a first floor room. I assumed that I was getting the first floor room because my son has trouble with stairs. When I got there the guy knew nothing about it. There needs to be better communication when people make requests months before the reservation.

The King Frederik Inn is my favorite place to stay in Solvang. Karen (at the front desk during my stay) was kind, knowledgeable, and friendly. The Inn provides discounts to local businesses, including the wine they carry onsite - Koehler Wines. The discount allowed me to discover this excellent winery and tasting room! All in all, a great place to stay in a wonderful area that includes unexpected perks! I highly recommend and will be back again!

Everything was great except that the housekeeper knocked on the door and tried to access the room before 10:00am. Check-out is not until 11:00am. We had the Do Not Disturb sign out and we were previously granted a late check-out of 11:30am.

We loved this place! Right in the middle of everything (food, wine tasting, entertainment, bike riding, etc.). The Inn had an amazing staff that was very attentive; the breakfast was delicious....which included pastries from a local bakery; yogart, oatmeal, juices, granola bars, coffee and teas. We were on the 1st floor and parking was right outside our room....and room was large enough to fit both our e-bikes. We will be back!!!!

We chose King Frederik Inn for its reasonable rate and great central location in Solvang. We were a few minutes walking distance to just about everything. The room was clean but a bit outdated. The mattress was too soft for my liking but we still got a good night sleep. I was very pleased to find a noise machine next to the bed. I use one at home and I was able to fall asleep to the sound of rain. It was very quiet and we did not hear any noise from our neighbors. A big hit was the discount card we were given at check in with a list of places we could get a discount at. We used the card at 6 different businesses. The one thing I do have a complaint about: after booking the room I received an email from King Frederik Inn telling us about the breakfast offerings which included “fresh local pastries and muffins for a sweet start to your day”. We were excited for this as Solvang is known for its delicious pastries. We arrived at the lobby at 7:40am. There were no pastries or muffins offered at all. Only fruit, yogurt, granola bars. If they are not providing fresh local pastries and muffins then please stop sending out emails stating that you do. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and will likely book there in the future.
