This motel was a pleasant surprise. First off the facilities were kept clean, and it looked very welcoming. The lady in the office was very kind. However, they did have a cat in the office so those that are allergic to pet dander need to be aware. Immediately, my eyes started itching and allergies flared up while I was in there. Took some meds and was able to tame the allergies. The facility has a nice swimming pool. From the motel, there is a walking path that will lead you to the Kaweah river, which was an excellent little hike and great place to go for a swim in the river. The room was clean and smelt fresh. Our room had a queen and a full size bed, and a nice chair which made the room a little crowded because the chair was in front of the bathroom entrance. The room could use a little paint because there were parts of the wall that were patched up. Perhaps they were in the middle of that when we booked who knows. I needed to get some ice for my drinking cups, but the ice machine did not work, that was disappointing. I like that you can park right in front of your room which made unloading our suitcases so much easier. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Lazy J! The proximity to the park could not have been better, and when our AC unit went out, the staff had it replaced in under 30 minutes! We had to explain to our kiddos that this is a MOTEL, and as such, it's going to be... well-loved. But overall, it was incredibly clean and well-maintained! We also loved the motel wildlife (cats, turkeys, sheep, and especially the hummingbirds!) And our time spent in the river was so so nice... Highly recommend it just for the experience! <3
