Service was outstanding. The staff is helpful & incredibly kind. Julpha & Marlon were especially great given some of the issues we had. It is evident that people smoke EVERYWHERE because the sticky smell of stale smoke lingers in the halls, elevator, and rooms. The hotel does its best to mask the scent, but it’s there. Also, I phoned ahead and was told that the hotel would give us a day pass to the Edge gym down the road since they didn’t have a gym. When I arrived I found out that was not the case. For me, this is a deal breaker when I travel so I was disappointed. I bought my own day passes to the gym anyway, but the hotel shouldn’t advertise this service if they don’t have it. The hotel otherwise is very clean, it’s obvious the staff takes pride in cleanliness. But there isn’t much that can be done with extremely outdated/old fixtures, linens, and furniture. The bed was a cot style mattress and uncomfortable. I will never stay here again. If it wasn’t for the wonderful service from Julpha, Marlon, and the staff I would have given 1 star across the board.

Rooms was quite neat, clean, and well maintained. Staff were always very helpful & friendly, but sparse. Amenities were very limited (no fitness area on site, no pool, no dining on site, no ice machine, no in room coffe pot - required to ask for one, no room service during stay, etc) for the average hotel & price. Breakfast was very lean & limited with front desk staff being responsible for restocking food & drink items as needed. Unfortunately, other guests staying at hotel also made our stay uncomfortable - lots of shouting, door slamming, yelling, and smell of weed in hallways until well past midnight and then again early in the morning. With limited hotel staff on hand, no options were available to ask for assistance. Though rooms were very nice, and clearly recently renovated, walls were very thin and conversations & other noise could easily be heard. Felt closer to staying in a local motel than an Extended Stay hotel. Will say, the local area was nice with good food options nearby. Again, hotel staff were truly lovely when they were around and available!

Construction was going on so it was loud at times

Dated, worn property. DO NOT ASSUME "free breakfast" means anything. It\'s basically shrink-wrapped muffins and crappy coffee. Elevators didn\'t work during my stay (my room was on the 3rd floor.)

Some of the property is under renovation right now and it smells completely of wet paint. It looks kind of scary on the inside as of now. The room was clean and the area is quiet.

Breakfast is no breakfast. No ice machine. Ice maker broken. Dogs barking on the floor. No receipt provided.

It is clean, but it is being renovated. I can't wait to see what it will look like when it is updated.

The front desk clerk Jermaine was so nice ! I felt bad for him because the TVs weren’t working properly and a customer yelled at him ! I was upset there was no pool or hot tub as advertised so I would like to dispute how much I paid for this hotel

We checked in, went into the room and went back down to let the staff we would not be staying! The overwhelming smell of marijuana and the loud barking dogs was unacceptable. The room’s floor was so slimey we were sliding across it. Horrible experience!

The room smelled like cat urine which was unpleasant thankfully I only had to stay one night

The hotel was clean but definitely dated. An old building with clean beds. Our first room 101 had an issue with the flooring. When we came in we noticed it was buckling and lifting from the ground as the night went on there was water coming up through the flooring. The hotel was booked and there was no room to move to so we stayed the night. The next day we were moved to a new room. Halls definitely smelled like animals had been there and air freshener was covering up the smells. Our room was clean and comfortable though.

The whole place smelled like cigarettes & was extremely dirty. Our hotel room had bugs in it. Overall disgusting place.

Property very run down. Sign says renovations in progress. Found a bed bug in the first room. Moved to second room and roaches appeared that night. Moved to another hotel. Staff helpful on the first night.

The hallway needs new carpet, it smells really bad.

Upon check-in, my initial room had water coming out of the tiles in the bathroom when you stepped down. My room was switched. The entire 2nd floor reeked of marijuana and was full of smoke despite there being "no smoking" signs. The were 2 fights in the middle of the night

The hotel was disgusting! The lobby and the first floor smelt like cigarette smoke and the hallways. The hotel outdated, dark, and dingy. I was given a nonsmoking room that reeked of cigarette smoke. I was giving the room next door, which was a little better but had burnt stains on the bathroom counter. The guest that I encountered to be PG were classless. When requested a new room at the front desk there was a male guest who was drunk yelling profanity at a female and threatened to kill her in front of me and staff! At 11pm I had to call the front desk for a noise complaint as two male guests stood outside my room talking for over an hour loudly to the point I thought they were in my room! There’s no noise control in this hotel! Do not bring kids! Most of the guests live at the hotel and it operates like an old motel, not worth a penny! They advertise a kitchen but had no pots, plates, or utensils. You have to go to the front desk to request them! They advertise a complimentary breakfast, which is a lie! The only offer coffee, hot water for instant oats! I’ve never given a hotel a bad review but this hotel was definitely the worst experience I’ve ever encountered! There’s no reason this hotel is still open

It was the worst experience I have ever encountered. The building was dark , dirty and foul smelling. They did not offer maid service and said if we wanted we could change our bed and bring the dirty towels and sheets to the front desk for clean ones and make are own bed, The floor in the room was sticky and the bathroom floor was no better. I would never recommend the Hotel to anyone.

This place was disgusting. It was clearly never deep cleaned and stunk like cigarettes. They offered up room spray. Other guests said their rooms smelled the same. They gave us one towel and one set of bedding for 4 people and two beds. When we asked for more we were told they didn’t have any left. They finally got some washed and up to us around 10 pm. We first started asking at 3:30. I know they were busy… and double booked but they really acted like we were a Burden and ridiculous for asking. I was not surprised I’m the morning when the breakfast’ was stale coffee and a few packs of oatmeal.

The beds were nicely made and comfortable but, the overall appearance of the room was old and needed an update the floors were uneven and no carpeting. We stayed on the second floor as we came out of the elevator, the hallway reeked of old smoke that was embedded in the walls, which was really awful! Thankfully, our room didn't have the same odor, I had my granddaughter's college graduation the next day and everything was booked otherwise, I would not have stayed at the hotel. The Hotel needs a complete renovation!!

It wasn’t the worst stay but definitely not the best. No carpet in the room, very loud, the bed wasn’t even attached to the wall and was very uncomfortable, the tv kept turning off even though it wasn’t on a timer. I had to unplug the room phone because it kept making a dial tone noise even though it was hung up correctly. I tried to check out at 5am and no one was at the front desk so I just left the key on the counter.

Branded as an extended stay. Has a kitchenette with countertop burners. Plenty of cabinets but all empty. No cups, glasses, plates, silverware, cookery. Why have a kitchenette if there are no supplies. Not even an in room coffee maker. Not much for extended stay.

The room was smaller than it looked in pictures. Relatively clean but you had to make your own bed (they supplied bedsheets). Asked the front desk and they did not have any pillows (other guests got there first for pillows). Breakfast was coffee and packaged muffins. Front desk staff was nice. Not worth the price $160.

We really enjoyed the spacious room with two queen beds and kitchenette. The area was very quiet and felt quite safe. We enjoyed the restaurants nearby. The Marketplace just up the street was wonderful. We will be staying here again next time we are in.CT.

Room was excellent. Clean! Nothing to complain about that. Lobby was not inviting. The elevators aging. The hallways smelled so bad I had to hold my breath getting to my room. Staff excellent. But with the room being great it makes up for anything negative. Residents up all hours of the night and noisy in the hallway

Nothing special about this property. Entering the building was not very inviting ` needs to be repainted. The staff was friendly. The hallway was narrow and not well lighted. The room was clean, but the shower area was in need of repair.

We booked and paid in advance for a room with two queen beds; we arrived for check in at 9:00 PM. Our room had been given to another customer! As an alternative, we were offered a King room or the option of cancelling our reservation. In my opinion, this is a totally unacceptable business practice. Don't sell a room that you can't deliver!

The staff was excellent

The hotel was excellent, the staff was very nice and Jule who starts the morning shift was always very polite. I also forgot my Xbox controller in the room and they were nice enough to work with me on getting it shipped back. There were a couple of stains on the countertop near the restroom but other than that the room was very clean. I also tend to overheat so wanted the temperature in the room cold but couldn't figure out the settings on the AC unit in my room. Could be the settings were already pre-set and I wasn't able to change or I was just unlucky and it was failing but other than that the stay was great and would come back.

I got there to check in and they just said “we don’t have any rooms available for you.” Basically that was it, no manager was on call and the check in person was rude and not empathetic at all. I will never stay at another extended stay ever. Never felt so disregarded and dismissed in my life. I hope no one ever has to experience what I did.

I have been coming here for several years and have never had a problem. I dislike doing reviews, but did one when I was here last month. Five stars and no problems. I guess I should not have submitted that review because this time I was not happy. The check-in process was HORRIBLE!!!! There was no one at the check-in desk, only a sign that said they would be back SHORTLY. I just thought they were probably taking a restroom break. FIVE MINUTES went by, and still no one. I used the phone to call them and was told they would be there soon. ANOTHER FIVE MINUTES passed by. In the meantime, another guest had arrived for check-in, and was as surprised as I was that no one was there to check us in. FINALLY, AFTER TEN MINUTES, someone appeared. Because the other person was a few years older, I allowed them to go ahead of me. Their check-in took about five minutes, so I waited FIFTEEN MINUTES to be checked in! After I finally checked in, there were no dollies available for me to load my luggage, clothing bag, and assorted other items onto! Because of a hip problem, it would be impossible for me to make several trips back and forth to my car and to my room. I was given an awkward large black hand truck to use. It was difficult to maneuver, but I was at least able to make just one trip to my room. This experience was TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!!!! You must treat your paying guests better by ensuring that you have at least two staff members to serve the front desk!

Clean, comfortable, updated and safe place to stay. The staff is very kind and helpful. I was exhausted, the front desk staff made feel like home.

Dogs were barking in rooms all night. Facility smelled musty and hints of cigarette smoke. Did not feel safe walking around hotel at night.

Stay was comfortable and good. Met all needs adequately. Good location, room was comfortable and process cheaper the all other hotels on Bridgeport Ave

I think the location of the property is great! It's not far from the exit, it's quiet and set back.

Property was clean and easy to park. There are plenty of shopping and dining options within a few miles. No frills, in terms of pool/hot tub- but great price and modern, clean rooms with kitchenettes. Pet friendly- which was worrisome when we heard dogs barking when we checked in, but didn’t hear a peep at nighttime (thankfully!)! We were happy with our stay.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The bed was comfortable. The location was handy to many stores and restaurants.

For he price I paid in the Shelton area, one would expect a clean safe environment for my family. It was not clean, inside or outside the room. The hallways were dirty, the grounds were dirty, people were living there permanently and made it feel uncomfortable. The room floor was sticky, it smelled terrible inside and outside of the room, smoke in hallways, people smoking outside the entrances. It felt unsafe! Shelton is a beautiful town so this was all shocking! I’ve never experienced this at any hotel I’ve ever booked. When I asked for a refund for my second night, both Hotels.com and their Main desk denied my refund. I was offered $78! I lost around $100, sleep, wasted time searching for a new place for my family. I’m just beyond upset and don’t understand how this hotel can operate this way and someone not be held accountable.

Location was good

Situated up on a hill away from highway and noise is minimal. Exit off the Rte 8 highway is directly across from the hotel, making it very convenient. There is no restaurant on site, but there are many within about a mile and two grocery stores. Also stores are on this road (Bridgeport Ave). Front desk is very responsive to questions and needs.

No breakfast apart from a few sachets of oatmeal and coffee

No coffee maker machine in room no cups and they said breakfast included but there is no breakfast

This was our first time at an Extended Stay America. The room itself was fine - nothing special but nothing horrible. The hotel seemed old and in need of updating. The hallways were narrow and reminded my wife of an old college dorm. The normal hotel amenities are non-existent here. There\'s only coffee during the "grab and go" breakfast time. The "grab and go" breakfast is bagged muffins and granola bars. We stayed here because of the price. In the future, I think we\'ll just pay a little more to stay at a nicer hotel.
