Islander Resort

Wasn’t told that there was construction blocking access to the restaurant and beach and had to go back to the front to get directions. Otherwise the place is beautiful and we are excited to enjoy the view and do some fishing today

Great property, excellent restaurant and bar, pool area, huge beach.

Property newly renovated, felt fresh and new. Beds and pillows were comfortable. We made use of the courtesy shuttle to get to some local bars and restaurants. Pool area was great, lots of chairs and towels readily available. Water temperature was perfect.

Property was clean and updated, tons of amenities and things to do. Service staff went above and beyond. Even had employees offering popsicles and ice cream out on the beach. Loved the resort and will return!!

Newly renovated, this property is pristine and beautifully kept. Our room was very nicely appointed and very clean. Ice is a walk; didn’t use room service. Breakfast was just so so, but served beachside so it was still a very nice experience. Pools are a bit small for the number of guests. Lovely loungers and cabanas abound. Beachfront lounge chairs, pavilions and more loungers are available for guests. Wait staff was limited and pool or beachside bar/food orders was very slow.

My wife and I stayed here recently and were so impressed with the overall experience. The rooms are up to date, clean, and spacious, you even have your own courtyard and dining area for each room. The grounds of the property very well kept and offer so many on site amenities (beach volley, mini putt, bocce, basketball, water sports) all at no additional fee to use. The fitness facilities were also out to date and had clean working equipment and weights. Service from staff was great around the pool, at the bar/restaurant and for the rooms. Would definitely come back and highly recommend.

This place is fabulous! But ….. First, look on this company’s direct website when booking. You will be misled on pricing through Expedia and think you are getting a better deal from them, you’re not. They show a picture of a room, that was missing a table, chairs & a couch. The resort daily fee ( which is still an amazing amenity) will be at the very end of your transaction which is misleading, so you’ll have really do your homework. Currently on the direct Islander website, under specials you can book your stay AND receive 200 dollars a day to spend on the resort ( food, drinks & items in the gift shop), PLUS they waive your 69.00 resort fee. The property is beautiful, the salt water pool is amazing, staff are waiting on you pool side. So many activities to utilize, kayak, SUP boards, fishing, volleyball, put put golf and fishing. Friday and Saturday they gave out coconuts to drink out. You have a Patio, lounge chairs, your own private patio. Drift food is phenomenal. If we could suggest anything, it would be nice if one pool was adults only. There were some unruly children, with parents who were not interested in taking care of them & management was incredibly apologetic ( however not their fault AT ALL) thank you Josh the manager for being so kind and attention to detail, offering anything to keep the guests happy. Also fyi there’s no hot tub or coin laundry any longer, but they will wash your clothing as a complimentary service. Overall such a great stay! We will be back

Great property but 1 pool closed and construction everywhere

The property was clean and easy to get around. The amenities were awesome! We could have easily stayed at the resort for 5 days and been entertained.

This place was amazing! It definitely had a resort feel and was very clean. Even though the beaches aren't the normal tropic island beaches everthing inside the resort made you feel you were on an island. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The parking was free and right outside our room. The room also was immaculate and I never say this, since there is always something I find wrong with the room or bathroom. Overall would stay here again 100% and will recommend to anyone asking. Finally, it was pet friendly which made me love it even more!

Staff was great at check in. When night time came our room became overrun with some type of ants or termites! I called the front desk and my wife and I had to pack and relocate at 3:00 AM!!! No one ever came to check on us, not even in the morning! All we got was a 2-hour extension for checkout from 11:00 until 1:00. Never a call or visit from a manager, NOTHING!!! That's bad business! Seriously disappointing. SMH!!

The resort was beautiful! The grounds were beautifully maintained. Palm trees everywhere! We loved the location of our room, which felt more like a cozy cottage. Loved the activities/amenities. Why this wasn’t 5 stars was because the food service staff was operating on a skeleton crew and although some seemed to get pool service, we were overlooked multiple times and had to get our own. Also, there wasn’t enough staff to clean up all the plastic cups and food boxes which on Sunday made the pool area disappointing. Our experience with Drift was similar, I had to ask about our food and learned they only had 1 in the kitchen cooking. They did comp one dish to make it up to us. The staff was nice and wanted us to have a good vacation. The resort itself was amazingly designed.

Clean room, great property and an easy walk to beach or restaurants, great staff. We had an older room and only negatives was the door seal was torn allowing bugs to enter room and shower had hair still from previous guest.

Front desk lady was cery nice but the room was dirty

I was pleasantly surprised at what it looked like. It was absolutely beautiful. The grounds are gorgeous and looks like they just remodeled with all new furniture. They have so many amenities, even fishing poles. My husband caught a baby shark off the pier. We had a regular king size bed room with the view of the tropical plants. It came with a huge patio. The only negative things I would say and it is only nik picking is that they need to pick up garbage around the beach area and the bathroom needs caulking.

We absolutely loved our stay at the resort! The staff was friendly and accommodating, when they heard it was our daughter's birthday trip they put together a little gift bag for her and it just made her day. The rooms, restaurants, and pools are very clean and the property itself is very well maintained and clean. The only thing I would have to say that could be improved on is the quality of the Internet for the rooms, but it's definitely not a deal breaker. We plan on booking another stay very soon!

Clean room, ocean view, friendly staff. Highly recommended!

Everything was great, however we seemed to have a bad ant problem in our room. Also I feel like the resort needs more lighting for night time. The pool is open until 10pm but it’s extremely dark around the pool and the poor employee in the towel cabana was using a cell phone light to fold pool towels for guests. Also traveling with small children I would like to see some lighting around the activity areas and potentially leaving the activity area (mini golf course) open after sunset (to play after dinner) and to be able to use the other outdoor activities after dark also.

The room and property were wonderful! For streaming they are using Google Chromecast which wasn’t working, so we couldn’t stream on any platform.

The resort is beautiful and the rooms are beautiful. The resort staff was lovely. The food at both restaurants was better than you would expect at a resort restaurant. Our son loved the pools. We had a little trouble with the a/c in our room but the staff quickly responded. Overall, we loved our trip here and would definitely return.

Amazing property beautiful rooms

Absolutely stunning area, and we had a cabana room that was fantastic. Pool area nice, restaurant good, we used the paddleboards and enjoyed that. The only things i would say is that these are new rooms, but literally no bathroom space, shower is small, and no where to set your bathroom stuff, that being said, i would definitely stay there again.

Our room was spacious and very clean, and the staff was fantastic.

I could have stayed at the Islander Resort forever. The room was absolutely beautiful! The patio had an ocean view with lovely flowers, plants and palm trees surrounding. It was quiet, the pools were refreshing, and the food at Tides Bar and Grill was delicious.

We stayed in newly renovated rooms on south side. Very nice accommodations. Small bathroom but room was so nice along with outside area. Parking right outside room was a plus and walking distance to many great restaurants.

Great and spacious rooms.

We enjoyed staying at Islander Resort. Our pool bungalow room was very clean and in a great location to the pool & ocean.

The in room ceiling fan was loud and a/c struggled to cool the room. Room and property were beautiful. Great place.

Our stay was absolutely amazing from start to finish! The front desk staff, especially Monique and Victoria, were warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful throughout our visit. The food was delicious, our waitress, Rebecca, made each meal feel extra special. The amenities were top-notch, and Markel went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Yoga with Lacey Devin was such a treat, her class felt warm and truly comfortable, a perfect way to unwind. Our room was beautiful, clean, and so comfortable. Our only regret was not being able to kayak due to the weather, but that just gives us another reason to come back. We’re already looking forward to our next stay!

Shuttle service is great when they get the message from the front desk, every time we requested it with the same front desk person for a specific time, we had to call back up after waiting for 10 minutes and were told “oh I will call them now” so we were repeatedly 15 - 20 minutes late for our dinner reservations, not helpful when the restaurants release your table after 15 minutes. Shame, cause everything else was superb

This was our second time to the Islander and it was just as special as the first. The recent remodel updates are beautiful without the resort losing any of its comfort and charm. The spaciousness of the resort provides privacy and the variety of amenities assure many things to do. The entire staff is friendly and welcoming, making check in, check out and everything in between seamless. We will certainly be back soon!

We appreciated the renovation of the room and location by the pool but the mattress was not replaced. It is the worst we have slept on in any hotel and should not be selling the room. We voiced our concern to the front desk the next morning to the agent and supervisor and both just looked at me. No apology or any attempt at service recovery. The response was do you want a printed receipt. I stated printed as I will put this in my review. I received the copy and a blank stare without any thank you or have a nice day...nothing. This is definitely not a 4 star experience and we were very disappointed. The views, dock, bar/restaurant are nice but service levels are lacking. Unfortunately, we have experienced issues in the past when we have booked through Expedia but will definitely think twice before booking through Expedia again. Our advice is to check multiple websites and reviews before booking.

The grounds are magnificent. The front desk staff was over the top helpful. Jazz was outstanding. Sarah went above and beyond. And Kay was friendly and very pleasant. I loved that they had the trolley. I would request some built in music around the property. The quiet was nice but some Caribbean music or acoustic sounds would be nice.

Our experience with Drift was similar, I had to ask about our food and learned they only had 1 in the kitchen cooking. They did comp one dish to make it up to us. The staff was nice and wanted us to have a good vacation. The resort itself was amazingly designed.

Welcome was wonderful. Bed was very comfortable. However, the air conditioning did not work well in our room. They sent someone to fix while we were at dinner and it didn’t help, so when we returned at 11pm, their answer was to move rooms or have someone come in and try to fix again. At that point the answer should be to refund and the person we spoke with yelled at us and was unprofessional. Not going to move rooms at 11pm or have someone come into our room. We were only staying for one day. The next hotel we moved to on our trip was amazing and was actually air conditioned! The person we talked to at the Islander was unprofessional and rude. I would never recommend.

Food Options Very Limited, Only Great Service was Front Desk Agents, No Towels Avaible for 2 hours, All Around Terrible Experience.

The girl at the pool bar is very rude and discriminates against people and treats children and the elderly rudely.

the property was not properly lit or marked to walk it during the evening, i got lost as did others. Also it was undergoing renovations and I was not aware of such prior to booking.

We had such a memorable stay at the Islander Resort. We truly loved every second of it! The staff was warm, attentive, and always helpful without being overbearing. The rooms are spacious, beautifully kept, and having a private patio was the cherry on top. Everything from the beach to the pool, movie nights, and on-site dining was a solid 10/10. I especially appreciated how much was within walking distance, yet the resort also offered an on-demand shuttle for when we wanted to explore a bit further. It made everything so easy and relaxing. Can’t wait to come back!

We visit Islamorada at least once a year and this was our first time staying at the Islander. The room was clean, the staff was very helpful and friendly especially Angela, it was clean, there are a handful of restaurants and shops just a short walk outside the front entrance, and parking was right in front of our room. A few things that weren’t necessarily deal breakers but I feel I need to mention is that the bathroom is small. It did its job but the other resorts that we stay at usually have much bigger bathrooms. The phone line in our room was broken and would not stay in the phone so we could not call the front desk from it so we used our cell phone to call the resort and we got the reservations person both times. She then would transfer us to the front desk. Even after we pushed the number prompting the front desk we would get the reservations person who would have to transfer us. One of the times we got to the front desk we got disconnected and I happened to get the phone to work by holding the line in place while I made the call and after the long wait it sounded like someone answered then hung up. So I think there was some communication problems to work out. Also, we were given a courtesy late check out time that I personally watched the lady at the front desk look up our room and make a note on it about the late check out time and yet, the cleaning service still came to our room and knocked on the door trying to come in and clean. Again, communication issue.

Great location, beautiful hotel!

This is not an inexpensive resort but is a decent value. The property is huge with pools, beach, bars, and several activities (fishing pier, bikes, snorkeling gear, volleyball, etc. it is centrally located on Islamorada to restaurants and marinas.

Beautiful property. Very relaxing. Rooms are excellent. Staff is super friendly. Very easy to find and conveniently located.

The property was very nice and the room was updated. It had a big pool and an additional pool next to the bar. The property was clean and everyone was very friendly. We will definitely come back.

Free bike rental (along with kayaks and SUPs) was huge for us as you can take them off property and we like to explore the local shops, restaurants and bars! The dining options on resort are not super diverse, but the quality of food was excellent. Plus there are many local restaurants to scratch that itch!

Absolutely amazing in every way! The rooms were gorgeous. Spotless, spacious and comfortable The grounds are beautiful as well. Loved the pools and beach. Drinks are a bit pricey at the bar. (We went across the street to Lorelie’s. Much more reasonable prices) if you go to Lorelei’s get the Lobster quesadilla. Simply delicious. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. I wished we didn’t have to leave!!

Main restaurant is under construction... Even with that was incredible place.. good vibes

We were extremely disappointed with the beach access at this resort. There is no real beach—only a set of stairs leading down to rocky, dirty water filled with seaweed and broken pieces of buckets and debris. It was completely unusable and nothing like what was advertised. The dining options were also underwhelming. The food quality and variety left a lot to be desired, and we ended up choosing to eat outside the resort most of the time. Overall, this experience did not meet our expectations, and we would not recommend this resort based on our stay.

We loved the resort atmosphere. It was peaceful and relaxing--just what we were looking for. The drinks are pretty expensive, but that was literally the only downside to the whole trip. It is close to anything you want to do in the Keys.
