The place has been updated. Access to the beach is awesome. Tons of things to do - such as paddleboard and kayak. Sunsets are amazing. Chill! Pool is small and no view but not what we came for.

The room was spacious. The kitchenette was set up nicely but our stay was too short to take advantage of the cooktop, fridge, or microwave. Paid a $25 “resort fee” but didn’t see the value. The pool had no heater and was too cold to use. The chairs out by the bay didn’t have cushions. Men were working on a renovation until sundown so it was noisy. The water flow in the shower was a trickle. Good luck trying to wash shampoo out of your hair.

Smooth check in. Nice property. Buildings are typical older Key West but have been nicely updated. Our room has a great view of the Gulf. Wish it had a deck instead of just sliding glass doors that are permanently shut.. Property grounds are very nice with a new dock.

Boat docks available. Kayaks and fishing poles available. Picnic palapa tables by the beach. Very relaxing property. They have a pool too but we preferred the ocean view by the boat dock beach area.

Great weekend getaway. First time staying after years of staying in the Keys. Clean rooms, clean property, friendly service. Lots of different rooms to accommodate budget and needs. We loved the on site slips for your boat as we brought ours and kept it on site. Will definitely be back. Only gripe is parking is limited and tight.

It's a 1960's looking Florida resort. A throwback to happier times, but all the rooms and buildings have just recently been refurbished. New flooring and fixtures and bathrooms, all freshly painted. Sits right on the Gulf, with excellent sunset views. The property also supplies kayaks, paddle boards, fishing rods, safety vests, snorkeling gear, etc. They have a pool onsite along with gas and charcoal grills. Hammocks, lounges are there, too. Easy parking and the staff is wonderful and helpful. They even put out fruit and cookies in the lobby for quick, and free snacks. A very nice touch! I was very pleased and would return the next time we go fishing in Islamorada.

This is a nice place to stay. A nice waterfront with chairs, hammocks, shade, grill and dockage. Bed was very comfortable. Room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was clean and functional but needed a face lift. The area was well lit at night for safety but kept the room to bright for me. Overall would recommend.

The room was filthy. Urine on the toilet and body hair in the sheets. Body fluid stained bed spread... Desk clerk stated it was the maids last room before she went home. No offer of reimbursement or discount.

The property was beautiful and quaint. The pool was nice and the views of the water were beautiful. We loved all of the options we had to do there, lounge by the water, use the kayaks, the hammocks were great. The room was very nice and clean and it smelled great. The location was great and close to a lot of restaurants and shops, even though the construction in the area made it hard to get in and out of the parking lot. We had a good time here. Our only complaints were that the bed was hard and lumpy, the water pressure was really weak, and our room had a major sugar ant problem. We couldn't leave any food on the counter because it was attacked by a ton of sugar ants. Also, when we opened up the sofa bed for the kids to sleep on, the linens were still on it from the last guests and there was a dirty towel with a bunched up sheet in the bed. There weren't any extra linens and there wasn't an extra blanket for the sofa bed either. Luckily my kids brought their own blankets and we made it work because the office was closed by this time.

The resort location and outdoor areas are beautiful. Sitting outside was gorgeous but the rooms not so much. First night there we killed a roach in the kitchen. There were two dead small ones beside the toilet. We told the front desk they told us “I find that hard to believe “. Wow!! The shower had mold all around the bottom of it. The tile was painted white. Like spray painted. The shower curtain had black mold all on the bottom of it. The road noise in the room was terrible. If you are staying here make sure you get a room far from the road because otherwise it’s super loud. I travel a couple weeks a month for work. I believe you get what you pay for. For the money we paid this place was dirty and they didn’t care when we said something. The outdoor areas around the water were nice. Very pretty. Great views but if I’m paying over 300 a night then that room needs to be free of mold and roaches.

Retro 195O’s exterior, all the to the neon sign at the entrance. Felt like Lucy and Desi would be showing up. Rooms have been updated and modernized. Our room had a large screen tv with a nice suiting area, comfy queen bed, and a small kitchen area. Very clean. Small pool near road. Waterfront lounging area, with lounge chairs, shuffle board, kayaks, bikes, a dock. You could go swimming off the dock. Concierge nice, provided a bag of ice and some fruit and snacks on the office. Easy drive to eateries. A distillery and brewery across the road if you want to just walk. Would recommend for adults, I think kids might be bored with no beach and the small pool.

Location was perfect and the property was beautiful. The room walls were paper thin (could hear conversations in the next room clear as day), had to sit sideways on the toilet due to how close it was to the wall, bathroom walls were wet after a shower due to no fan, horrible remodel job (embarrassingly bad), and the entrance/exit onto the highway was dangerous due to being very narrow and only allowing one car to pass at a time. Will choose another place to stay on our next visit to the Keys.

Our stay at La Jolla Resort was fantastic. The rooms are really nicely updated and have outstanding mattresses. The location is awesome for anyone who enjoys Islamorada Brewery and Distillery as it's right across the road. We often felt like we had the place to ourselves. The staff was helpful and friendly. We would not hesitate to stay here again in the future!

We booked the Comfort Room with 2 Queen beds. Upon arrival we discovered the bathroom ceiling height and shower were only 6 feet tall, not standard height. My husband is 6’4”, the shower head only rose to his chest so he could not shower in our room, he had to use the outdoor shower by the pool. The front desk wouldn’t move us even when we offered to pay the difference.

Cute 20 room property on the gulf. Rooms are good sized and well equipped. Housekeeping came daily and swapped towel and emptied garbage. Bed in unit Q is the worst bed we ever slept in. So hard, noisy and sloped in the middle. Ended up sleeping on the sofa our last night. Other than the bed we would highly recommend La Jolla to all travelers

Pros- cute establishment and friendly front desk. Free granola bars, crackers and fruit. A water hot and cold filling station. Nice swing with water view. Con- if you get a room close to road it’s like you are sleeping on the highway. Two nights of no sleep.

This hotel looks totally different in reality, the pictures indicate a really cute place. In reality we got a room in unit "L" which is 10 feet from the 24/7 busy main road, it was very noisy and earplugs was needed. Needed to have shades down all day too (the parking was for "K" and "L" was also outside this window). We did not at all see the ocean (unit I,J,K & L are the same house). The familyroom was not clean upon arrival, eventually that was taken care of. Bathroom out of date with a very small shower (se pictures), the rest of the room was according to expectations. Outside the room just beside mainroad there was a small swimmingpool. Unattentive staff. Emailed them with questions 24h before arrival but did not get any answer. Will not go back. No value for money.

Stayed one night ..no tv service….a helpful worker spent a lot of time trying to fix..but Comcast needed to come out the next day….but we where checking out that morning…so we had no tv on our stay…it was cold so had to stay inside at night…was a long night without tv. Left a message for the manager who wasn’t there to make an adjust on our bill…secretary said she would tell the manager…no response so far

Smooth check in. Nice property. Buildings are typical older Key West but have been nicely updated. Our room has a great view of the Gulf. Wish it had a deck instead of just sliding glass doors that are permanently shut.. Property grounds are very nice with a new dock.

Our stay at La Jolla Resort was fantastic. The rooms are really nicely updated and have outstanding mattresses. The location is awesome for anyone who enjoys Islamorada Brewery and Distillery as it's right across the road. We often felt like we had the place to ourselves. The staff was helpful and friendly. We would not hesitate to stay here again in the future!

Nice staff, in the middle of everything in the keys, nice short walk or bike ride to Bayside Gourmet for lobster bisque and a great Cuban sandwich, and a short drive to Robbie's and a cruise with Sundance Water Sports on the "Blue", Excellent.

This was a great location for our trip to the Keys. Our room was nice and clean. The hotel is right next to the ocean, so you can walk out on the dock area and look down to see fish and manatees as they come in. We were lucky and had a manatee come right up to the docks and hung out eating for several hours. It was pretty cool! Just an FYI - the keys have very little beach areas - you have to go to one of the state parks to access a beach.

Retro 195O’s exterior, all the to the neon sign at the entrance. Felt like Lucy and Desi would be showing up. Rooms have been updated and modernized. Our room had a large screen tv with a nice suiting area, comfy queen bed, and a small kitchen area. Very clean. Small pool near road. Waterfront lounging area, with lounge chairs, shuffle board, kayaks, bikes, a dock. You could go swimming off the dock. Concierge nice, provided a bag of ice and some fruit and snacks on the office. Easy drive to eateries. A distillery and brewery across the road if you want to just walk. Would recommend for adults, I think kids might be bored with no beach and the small pool.

We had a great time at this resort. The amenities were perfect, kayaks, hammocks, snacks and don’t forget Felix the cat who made us feel more at home. My next trip I will book my full stay at LaJolla. It’s also walking distance to a few good happy hour locations.

rooms by the road very noisy all night. No free ice available. No eating facilities anywhere on the property. 3 cats roam the grounds so have to be careful when opening outside door to the room.

What a pleasure. Very spacious room with living area and kitchenette, even a small dining table for two. Two chairs outside on front porch. Beach area was cute. We didn’t use any of the water sport amenities but would definitely return some day to do so. There’s a few great places to watch within walking distance which was great too.

Do not judge a book by its cover. To be honest, the pictures are a bit deceptive on the overall feel and look, and I was a bit concerned when I pulled in. HOWEVER!!! When I opened the door to the room, it was absolutely beautiful! Impeccable, clean, fresh, cool - perfect! The "resort" was exactly what you want for the Keys. Use the paddleboards, kayaks, fishing poles and bait, free ICE!!!!, bring your own snorkeling gear though! A fantastic place for kids and families w a private beach, hammocks, etc. Staff was awesome. I reqlly enjoyed it and would go back!
