Best Western Plus Miami-Doral/Dolphin Mall

In the beginning we were told at the Front Desk that the pool was closed due to pump repair , for the entire month. We were horrified . Only to see the pool open the next day. Also the carpet was very dirty in the room. We had to be washing feet constantly . Besides that the stay was excellent !

This property definitely shows some wear. The rooms are basic at best with really old carpets that are a musky. They have old school bath tubs and really small towels. When we entered the room, our coffe maker was dirty and had a left over pod in it and one of the blinds was completely tattered and torn up, making it difficult to open and close daily. There is a daily breakfast that is severed from 7am to 9am, which is basic but gets the jobs done.. it's usually some type of eggs, a meat (bacon or sausages) and hash browns. They also offer bread and bagels, yogurt, cereals and waffles. There is juice and coffee as well. Location wise it's pretty convenient, about 15-20 mins from the airport, places like Dolphin Mall, Walmart, Marshalls, gas station, Wendys etc. There are several other hotels right next door such as Spark Hotel. When booking on expedia it indicates shuttle services being available- that is NOT the case. We were advised that stopped since 2023. There are no shuttles to and from the airport or nearby shopping areas. They only offer to call you a taxi of needed, but Uber is cheaper. They also took a deposit when we checked in, which we werent aware of prior to booking. All in all it worked, as we spent minimal time in the room. The parking wasn't the best. This hotel is one of those where you get what you pay for situations.

Friendly staff, breakfast ok, we weren’t able to use the pool because it wasn’t clean and I didn’t see anybody taking care of it. The keys to open the rooms don’t work properly. We have to change them 3 times. Other than that it was ok.

Would prefer a kettle rather than the k cup maker. Also would have like the property to have an airport shuttle

It was extremely inconvenient to have to have my room key constantly re-programmed especially on the top floor at end of hall. They only have 1 elevator that stops at every floor no matter what direction. If you return late you’ll be parking out back and the side doors don’t work. The pool is average at best and right next to the dining area. The breakfast wasn’t good, I tried it first day and never ate again. Staff was OK, didn’t care about the key issue. Housekeeping never came one day. Wouldn’t use a Best Western again, definitely not this one. Bright and noisy outside windows in back.

My only issue was that there was no airport shuttle. So the uber cost really adds up

Very nice people at front desk. Pool wasnt open it was close but we were able to go across the street with no problem. Great breakfast(included) loved it

The front desk never answered the phone once during the 4 days I was there. There was a lot of humidity in the room and the elevator was broken two out of the 4 days. We had to go up and down 4 flights of stairs.

I had a great stay. Rooms are a bit dated but clean; breakfast is more or less how you would expect, there is additional parking in the back (the front filled up quickly in the evening during my stay). Dolphin mall is less than 10 mins by car which was convenient. There is only one elevator serving all floors so there can be a short wait. I was traveling for business and it was great for my needs.

There was black mold in the bathroom and shower water didn’t drain seemed clogged

Person at counter was very helpful. Room in the other hand was smelling like mold, really intense smell, tried changing room. Still not good. Cancelled reservation and still charged me for the stay

Arrived to the hotel early so no room available. They accept luggage drop off, however, it’s left in the conference room next to the lobby, with doors wide open and anyone can go in at any time with no supervision. Leave luggage at your own risk. The room was big enough but with a very strong moldy smell, that made us congested. The bathroom wall by the light switch was very dirty, with brown spots that hopefully was just chocolate from some kid. When informed the cleaning girl about the smell, she said that’s been a known problem, and that even her has to open the window while cleaning because causes congestion on her. Also that she had notified the manager but nothing happens. At check out when asked how was everything, I told the lady everything I just wrote, and she just said, thank you. Will never book a Best (Worst) Western again.

The hotel is in a good location… It has a sour smell being covered up with pine sol and bleach …. It’s over powering…. Just the room the carpet smelled like urine…..

The rooms were smelly when the AC was off and I observed a lot of mold and mildew around the bathroom and window.

The curtains were not good sun was coming in

The hotel room was a little run down. Both tables in the room had wobbly legs about to fall off, the bathroom door would not close tight, the sofa was stained and not a pull out bed as we requested, the dresser drawers were sagging and stained. The breakfast was good. The staff were good, the lobby was clean. Rooms could use a good facelift.

The staff was great but the property needs work. It seems as if they tried to update the rooms/hallways but all that was done was a fresh coat of paint since thats what the rooms smelled like. Our room was huge but not in a nice way. We had a king size bed, a desk with a chair, a dresser, and then what seemed to be a wet bar with a mini fridge. All this furniture took up only half the room the rest was just empty space with plain white walls and no decorations to speak of. But what I really hated was that there were no black out curtains. The "curtain" we did have looked more like a thin white sheet hung from the top of the window than a curtain. Also, the hallway had a horrible damp/mildewy smell every day & night.

Convenient location. If you miss the complementary breakfast you have the option literally on the corner of a place. called Panna with very good options. Unfortunately, the room they assigned us did not have blackout curtains on the window, just a very thin blind that made us wake up both days at 7am.

The staff is very customer service oriented per instance Ramona ,the lady who served the braekfast buffet she was very attentive,indulging and a hard worker,cleaning the tables in a goos mood the other lady Magaly who cleans the rooms on the 2 nd floor she really cleans the room,bathroom concientely. I would book there again if I have to come back.

Key card for hotel room would stop working after a while or the door card reader had issues. Other than that, it was a wonderful stay.

The location of this property is great. I had an issue one day when I had the “Privacy Please” sign on the door. The cleaning associate ignored my request and went in the room and cleaned it. I had the curtain down and it was partially lifted. I was disappointed that they even went into the room.

The stay was good. Everything was good. Sabrina at the front desk was very helpful and polite. One negative is there was a mix up with tbe charging of my credit card. Resulting in it being charged Twice for my stay. Very in convenient.

The hotel rate was very expensive yet the bfast was Ltd and only until 9am. The night we chkd in, there was no wifi until the next day. Front desk staff never answer the phone. They’re often away from the desk so u hv to call hello hello when u need sthg.

Worst hotel ever, I was always happy with Best western, but this is not it. Very bad customer service, we waited to check in like 20 minutes, the person was in the back doing something as we can hear her talking, then in the room TV wasn’t working, no sound, couldn’t get any signal to watch cable, I called Front desk again and the guy said that the tech was not there and the he will check if someone was having the same issue and he will call me back in 6 minutes. I waited for the call that never came. At that point I knew no one was going to help. My husband and I decided to just go out and eat something instead of staying in the ugly room. When we returned, we go up and out key wouldn’t work, we went to Front desk and they guy was sound asleep and we had to wake him up so he can fix the key. Worst experience ever, this was low even for best western, and we paid over $100, not a cheapy hotel either.

The whole stay was fine and comfortable, everything was fine until I requested a taxi with the reception to the airport in which they told me that the charge would be $20 (which makes sense since the hotel is quite close) , but when we got to the airport the taxi driver told us that it was $75 dollars!!! We told him that the hotel told us that it would be $20 and he said that $20 was only for the receptionist, and that the other $55 was for him as a taxi driver... Truly a scam and disrespect on the part of the hotel and the taxi driver. I will not stay in this hotel again because of this. We felt so cheated and scammed, truly.

We stayed with my family (2 adults 1 kid) and enjoyed our trip. Check in was quick, staff helped and commodities good. The location is great near Dolphin Mall and 10mins to Wallmart, Restaurants and Stores. We rented a car at airport and parking was available at the hotel with no additional cost.

Likes Location is very convenient and close to shopping and restaurants. Breakfast - breakfast was replenished throughout the allotted hours. Dislikes Front desk staff - only one of three staff members was helpful and went beyond to assist. Room - carpet was in horrible condition, stained and smelly. Bathroom fixture was ready to fall off the wall. Mini fridge froze all our fruit and milk; actually worked as a freezer. Pullout bed in king suite was badly stained and ready to dump. Hotel condition - corridors smelled moldy and carpet dirty. Only one elevator to service all guests. Room key wouldnt work from time to time and we'd have to go downstairs to have them reprogrammed. Breakfast - not a wide selection but lovely nescafe coffee machine , perfect for coffee lovers

Was not curtains on the window the light came and was dificult to stay a sleep . Water pressure was very low on the shower. Breakfast location was very crowded and not enough seating avaliable. Food run out pretty quick .

We are booked for a late arrival for 2 nights. After delays on flights we only arrived just before 1 AM, we were greeted by night staff extremely friendly. Hotel vending machines were sold out due to high volume of guests front desk got us a few bottles of water and we headed off to bed. Bed was big and ok for comfort. Bathroom had all the amenities even shower caps which I was happy to see and use as I don’t often see them as much anymore. Room had kiruig but we enjoyed coffee in the breakfast area. Rooms were quiet Next morning breakfast was good, but busy. They have overflow seating outdoors which we did not mind at all. Selection breakfast was ok as well. Pool was decent and clean and enough seating around it. There is take Out, restaurants and groceries within walking distance however shopping is a bit further. Second morning breakfast not as good selection but still able to get something. ( never seen meatballs for breakfast before) they kept up with the high crowds at breakfast which I liked. Check out was simple. Unfortunately this hotel does not offer any shuttle services. Not even surcharge ones. But all in all it’s a good budget hotel. I’m sorry to see that it had such terrible reviews and I almost did not boom because of it, but glad we tried it. Thank you for a pleasant stay

Excellent location. The room was spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and very professional. The only thing I did not like was that they put HAM in the EGGS and cooked them together and I’m allergic to pork. I took one bite before I found out. I let thé staff know immediately. Other than that everything was perfect.
