Hampton Inn & Suites Miami-Airport South-Blue Lagoon

I was told at check-in that the system for validating keys was down and they would have someone open the door for us. For 3 days everyone we came back to the hotel or went to the pool or breakfast we had to stop at the desk to be let in our room. There are no back up keys for these rooms. It was so inconvenient. I asked if there was some kind of compensation for our trouble they said no. Each time we were waiting at the desk for like 15 minutes for them to call and have security or housekeeping go to our room and then go up and wait at the room for them to come open it. It was very disappointing. I was charged for parking, a higher price than was advertised which annoyed me. We didn’t have a keycard so we had to buzz the desk and wait for them to open the gate from inside, then the overheard gate was hanging off on one side and looked like it would fall off on my car. Very scary. While waiting for someone to check in so I could be let in my room I noticed that they all got bags with water and snacks which we did not receive at check in because the desk employees were too busy talking to each other. I also had to call the desk multiple times to have the shuttle pick up at the airport. We were at the airport waiting in the correct spot but the shuttle didn’t come so I called and had to wait another hour at the airport for pick up. The room was fine and clean and the breakfast was decent.

Convenient, comfortable hotel: clean, modern rooms, friendly staff, breakfast is very basic but well managed...constantly being replenished. Covered parking is $17 a night, easy in and out.The only issue was housekeeping didn't stock the room adequately: there were 5 of us in a one bedroom suite that is supposed to hold up to 6 people, however they left 3 towels both times they made up the room and utensils in the kitchenette were incomplete...after asking the front desk 3 different times for the missing plates, glasses and cutlery we just gave up and took disposable ones from the breakfast buffet.

This was a great hotel near the airport & lots of places to eat. We just ended our family trip & had a few days in Miami before we flew home. We had a queen suite for us and the kids. There was lots of space & although the hotel was very full, we hardly heard anyone while in our room. There is a fee for parking on property, but the surrounding area didn’t look the best, so we decided to pay for parking. The hotel has an airport shuttle from 5am & we saw lots of families here for a night or two before or after their cruises. This is a great hotel for something like that. There is a pool, but it was always crowded. The breakfast options were always plentiful & the staff did an amazing job at making sure everything was available when you needed it. Overall a great hotel for our family!

Excellent customer service. The employees are so friendly and helpful. Hotel could use some care. Everything was out of order in the gym, the ice makers on several floors were out of order, and the pool area could use some TLC. However, the rooms were clean and it was fine for one night.

Me and my wife had a very pleasant stay: our room was very clean, the beds were fresh, a nice spacious bathroom and the staff was friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was tasty. I also used the fitness center and relaxed in the outdoor pool with jacuzzi. It was a great stay for us and we would definitely book this hotel again!!

This hotel was great for a post-cruise night for our group of 5 adults. We arrived from Port around 11am and were able to be accomdated for an early check-in by Noon. The pool and hot tub were fantastic; although the jets weren't working in the hot tub. Shopping plaza across the street with a grocery store, multiple restaurants, etc. The airport shuttle and driver were awesome! The free breakfast was pretty decent as well! Would definitely stay here again!

Close to the airport with local dining and shopping within walking distance. helpful staff. The gym could use more attention and the hot tub was overgrown with algae. Our room was nice and clean.

Everything was very nice we arrived early and they let us check in when we arrived. Also pool was very nice and hot tub at night is really a good vibe

Ice machines only worked on a few floirs and some elevators were out of service

Shuttles services was a 10/10. Great service from front staff. The only downside was that we found cockroaches on the coffee stand on the main floor by the check-in desk.

There were stains on the headboard, wall and curtain.

Hotel was clean staff friendly Felt safe in area pool and common area was nice as well as breakfast. Enjoyed my stay here.

It was average; the floor we stayed in smelled of mold. Upon arrival, there was a huge fake eyelash on the carpet, which speaks to their cleanliness. Breakfast was okay; they should have more protein options, as not everyone eats eggs or pork.

The hotel was super clean and beautiful. Our room was great and the guy Gio at the front desk to check us in was super friendly and comical. We really felt welcome for our stay thank you!

Booked because of high star rating despite high price ($300+) because I would only expect such a high rating with a very quiet room where we could get much needed sleep. Well, the walls must be paper thin. I heard people all night despite asking for the quietest location available. The rooms were well below what I would expect from a $300/ngt hotel. I found hairs in the bedding. The AC was off, so the room was very stuffy and had an odd smell. I could go on…

I expected much higher standards. The room was visibly dirty, with wine (?) and mud (?) splatters on the wall. The couch was gross and stained. The ice bucket lid was cracked. The bathroom was equally unclean, with garbage on the floor, smears on the counter, and a literal robotussin cup left behind right on the sink. While the staff was friendly and the room temperature comfortable, these positives couldn't outweigh the room's neglect. I contacted the company directly who told me to email the manager; after two emails to her, I haven't received a response.

They gave us a super noisy room impossible to sleep, the door was vibrating so much. We had to change rooms. Breakfast was awful extremely poor. I do not recommend this hotel.

The room didn't have an iron and ironing board. The latch on the bathroom door didn't work, so the door couldn't be closed tightly.

Nice clean large modern room with plenty of space and nice kitchenette for convenience, staff was very friendly.

Great place to stay. Had an overnight post cruise. Arrived at 9:30AM and was able to check in for an extra $25usd. Well worth it to spend the day at the pool and whirlpool. They’ll also check your bags for free if you’d prefer. The airport shuttle was on time, quick and efficient.

In need of updating. Room was very dark.

The check-in process was easy and the room was very nice. Giovanni was extremely helpful and gave us the name of a restaurant to try out. Casa Juan’s was very good and a close walk from the hotel.

A guest service representative.. I don’t know what her name was, but she is Spanish and heavy set.. and works in the evening,but she lied to me saying I couldn’t extend my room.. come to find out she was trying to lie to upsell me to a suite room.. everyone else was nice.

I called for shuttle pick up but no one answered the phone. I called both numbers several times then took a taxi. When The coffee pot in the room did not have all the parts so I could not make coffee. Twice I stood at the front desk, and no one came to see what I wanted.

The room was okay. Front desk service was perfunctory at best, not so much as a smile. Had to come back and ask what time breakfast was and check out time etc. Had to come to reception to get bottles of water as none in the room. Breakfast was served on paper plates and in paper bowls which for a $195/£148 a night stay is not great. Fruit juice ran out one hour before the end of breakfast and I just got a shrug and 'none left' from the staff. Overall feeling of indifference.

Very friendly staff. Quick and easy check-in. The manager was kind and ensured we were able to do an early check-in. Because we were able to check-in, we were able to enjoy the breakfast. It was excellent and honestly one of the best continental breakfasts I’ve had at a hotel. The hotel is clean with an elegant fragrance in the lobby. I enjoyed my stay and will certainly stay again when I visit. We came straight from our cruise, so I appreciate the quality customer service after such an eventful time. Thank you!

Front desk agent “Gio” was so helpful, efficient, and knowledgeable that I had to make mention of him here. I wish more people would carry this type of friendly disposition within work environments.

Hamptons continue to be a go-to for consistent quality, cleanliness, and helpfulness. The Miami Airport-South Blue Lagoon was no exception - in fact, they raised the bar! After a long day of travel, we were weary & hungry — Gio at the front desk sent us to a fantastic Cuban restaurant across the street, even giving us a 10% off coupon. Great recommendation! The next morning, due to a crash near the ports, our shuttle to the dock was canceled. The gal at the front desk hooked us up w/ a Lyft ride, gratis! Clean, comfy rooms, nice eco-friendly shower products, solid breakfast buffet, convenient location. Would return and definitely recommend. Thanks, Hampton Miami!

Not a bad stay. It’s a busy hotel with a lot of tourist moving through. Nice comfortable bed and roomy shower. Not a lot of restaurants nearby except fast food but there is a grocery store, Walgreens, and a CVS very close by.

Very inconvenient location. No parking unless you pay $18 nightly. Noisy area near major highways and no direct access to property without U turns and dodging traffic.

Smelled very clean from the minute you walk through the door. Friendly and accommodating staff. Walking distance to many food options.

There's a little shopping center across the street w/ a Publix's and a few restaurants all very good.Also located at the very end of the center is a breakfast lunch place called First watch excellent breakfast and friendly service.

Conveniently located by the airport. If you don’t plan to stay in Miami for more than 24 hours or you have a connecting flight, cruise ship then it’s a reasonable budget solution. The hotel is clean, stuff is very friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was the shuttle service. They never picked us up when we arrived and dropped us off at the wrong door (12 doors off) when we were departing. The neighborhood isn’t too nice, so don’t plan to walk anywhere in the area, there isn’t anything to see here anyway.

Love being close to shopping areas and food restaurants in walking distance.

I normally stay here before and after my cruises. Its about 15 minutes away from the airport (shuttle provided) Across the street is a shopping center with a Berlington and a Publix perfect for picking up last minute travel items. The cinnamon mini waffles served during breakfast are to die for.😋 I'll make a couple to snack on during my ride to the airport. No syrup needed. They are that good!!

The room was adequate for a short stay. The room was on the small side and it was difficult to accommodate luggage for a longer trip. Check in was easy and efficient. If you have a vehicle there is underground secure parking for a fee. We paid a third party for transportation to the cruise terminal. The front desk will sign you up. Charge is $14 per person paid directly to the driver. Breakfast was above average. There was plenty of seating in the breakfast area during our stay.

Overall it is good, just for short stay. Pool was cold and breakfast without variety of food. I don’t eat pork, their sausages and even omelet was with pork. I think it would be better to add chicken or omlet without meet. Overall it was not bad. Thanks.

Very clean room. Slow elevators. Breakfast good but too crowded with not enough seating. Ran out of tissues at 11 pm. When I called the front desk the guy told me that housekeeping went home, but he would try to get me a box. After waiting half an hour, I called back down to see the status when the lady that answered the phone told me that the other guy went home. Considering the price I paid for this room I would have thought that someone could get me a box of tissues. It would have been nice to have shower gel instead of a bar of soap. I did appreciate the safe in the room as well as the fridge.

Great for a short stay, near the airport and with a free shuttle every hour on the hour. The breakfast is not good, but there are options near by.
