Quite big and clean room with comfy bed and great view to the water and Miami beach, but the rest were a bit of a victim of false or at least misleading advertising. The rooftop pool and pool bar were well... at the 5th floor and not at the actual hotel rooftop. One could say it's obvious from the pictures but nested between two tall buildings was not really giving the rooftop vibes. But maybe the bigger let down was that the pool bar closed at 5pm or 6pm or at sundown - not really sure which one because different places at the hotel gave different closing times for it but it was definitely before sundown. So, you don't really get those nice sundown moments with nicely lit pool bar or rooftop terrace (that we may see in some promo pictures) because it's closed well before that. Also if you want any refreshements at the pool later when the pool bar is closed you will need to get them from 1st floor restaurant and haul them to 5th floor. All this would have been fine if these points would have been clear at the time of reservation - but of course then the decisions on reserving the place might have been different.

Beware before booking this hotel. A month before our cruise, I called the hotel and explained that we would be arriving in Miami early Monday morning after disembarking from a cruise ship. I specifically wanted to avoid waiting until the afternoon for check-in with my wife and children and all of our luggage. The hotel staff recommended that I should reserve the room from the night before my arrival to avoid the wait. So, I reserved and prepaid a room on Hotels.com for two nights, beginning Sunday night, even though we would not physically arrive until Monday morning. When we arrived on Monday morning, the front desk informed me that because we had not checked in on Sunday, our reservation had been canceled. They also told me they would not refund the full amount I had prepaid for the two nights. As a result, the hotel kept my money, canceled my reservation, and apparently rented the room to someone else. So, I paid for two nights and ended up with no room and no refund. Based on this experience, I will not stay at any Marriott hotels again.
