First we reserved two rooms in that hotel and when we got to the hotel after check in we found out that one of our rooms was dirty and no ready so instead of wait we went to have dinner then when we came back the room was ready and clean. The front desk lady was nice and helpful and the location of the hotel is great. We did the reservation in that hotel because the swimming pool for our great daughter but we found out over there that the pool was close for renovation (according to the front desk) ☹️ The breakfast was just very basic with different hot food choices. I’ll say that the hotel is just ok if you need a place to spend a night because is clean and in a good location but otherwise you can look for a better place for about same money.

We only had coffee, but the breakfast did look fresh and delicious. The hotels appearance was very clean and nice. The pool look very friendly and inviting. They had a fire pit out there. We didn’t get to use it but we will next time we come to town.

Very clean place. Service was great. Breakfast was much more than expected. Very tasty coffee excelant Bed was comfortable Only down side was that we were very much looking forward to going swimming but pool was being resurfaced. But over all would definately stay here again. Close to restsurants and highway.

I was a little concerned about it being a motel (doors on the outside), but based on all the good reviews, I decided to go for it. It was a very good experience and incredible value. We arrived too late for the cookies, wine and beer in the evening, but we enjoyed the breakfast. The only thing I didn’t like was that the pool was closed for reconstruction. I had no plans to use it, but if I had my family with me, it would have been a huge disappointment. This should be disclosed at booking.

Rooma are insanely comfortable from the pillows and bed to the attention to detail in each room . Breakfast was nice, cookies at bedtime was a cute touch. Nice pool,lounge/ fire pit area was cozy . Waterfall was beautiful as well as the koi fish pond out front of the office! Beer/wine on tap sold by the ounce is always nice at the end of a long day! The staff were friendly and incredibly accommodating. Everything was very much wonderful.

Bugs were found everywhere. The worst part was finding bugs on both nights even after we requested to have the bed sheets changed. We didn't even stay the 2nd night. We drove back home the 2nd night after finding the 2nd bug

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Equus Inn. The rooms were upgraded and the property was the old style open to the courtyard. The bed was very comfortable, the pillows as well. The room has louvred shutters so you could peek out or have some light without opening draperies. The courtyard has a beautiful pool and gathering area with a fireplace and a fire pit. The rooms, entry and dining area are decorated with black and white horse photos. I appreciated that as I am a horse person. Breakfast was very good with lots of choices and spread out so folks were not on top of each other. The dining area was immaculate. I would definitely stay here again when in the Ocala area.

Awful experience would not go back. It was rated a 9.0 and no idea how or who would rate it that high. I stay at 9.0 and this wasn’t close. Dog poop in the parking area we stepped, the area isn’t clean. Cockroaches in the hotel room. Night worker in elevator with us after we checked in. It’s a motel so it was loud. Breakfast was not as good as other hotels I’ve stayed at with the fake hockey puck eggs it was very disappointing.charged me $35 for a small dog in a motel with hard tile floors so the hotel was way over priced.

Not sure who rated this motel but we were so excited to check into a nice play based on all the reviews but it was NOT good. Kudos to whomever led the redesign of this former Days Inn. It was thoughtful and elegant for what you had to work with. Observations: Shutters on the windows, albeit cute, block out absolutely ZERO sunlight. Interior wall-mounted HVAC is far superior to window unit. However, placement is not ideal as it blows directly on your face in bed lol. Shower is super cute but lacks any water pressure and doesn’t allow more than semi-warm temp. I really wanted to love this property but unfortunately won’t stay here again.

I couldn't beat the price. We got rained out of our campsite and needed a quick place to stay. This fit the bill. Very clean, comfortable beds, nice property. The only reason I can't give it a 5 is because the noise level is a bit much due to thin walls. I would definitely recommend this place though.

This motel is old, but has been refurbished to a delightful degree. The rooms are large and comfortable, with the toilet and shower separate from the vanity, which I prefer. The luxurious shower itself is something you rarely see in a motel of this caliber. The bed is comfortable and properly situated in relation to the rest of the room, and most importantly, the TV. There is a larger than average hotel refrigerator and microwave, and an ice machine conveniently located next to the stairs on both floors. Plenty of personal amenities are provided, and everything in the room works perfectly. A late afternoon wine and beer fountain are provided in the breakfast area, although unfortunately we arrived too late to take advantage of it. There is a restaurant next door very similar to Zaxby's that I was unfamiliar with since there aren't any in Alabama, but it was tasty, convenient and affordable. The breakfast buffet is very good as well, with a variety of hot and cold items. Lastly, the front desk staff are friendly and efficient. We will make sure to stay here from now on every time we stop in Ocala.

The staff and location of this property are excellent. I wouldn’t stay there again because the TV reception was horrible. I had to stay in the room for several hours due to illness and the tv buffers every ten seconds and the buffering lasts 40 to 50 seconds each time. It was awful and I was a captive audience. I should have taken a book with me.

Nice updated hotel! Room was clean. AC worked well. Buffet breakfast had many options Would have liked a milk alternative. I bought my own soy milk. I didn’t use the pool, but it looked clean and well-maintained. There was a fire pit and there was nice outdoor seating and even games you can borrow from the front desk. The only negative comment I have about this hotel is the poor Wi-Fi.

The room..mainly the floor was not clean and the noise level.including kids and barking dogs was intolerable..when i asked the front seat to address the barking dog next door , all i got was an eye roll but nothing was done. I requested that the room be serviced daily since i was there for 4 days and i got 1 day of service. and even when the room was serviced, the floor was not cleaned again!

I loved the updated decor. The staff, especially Mickayla was phenomenal. The only thing that I was disappointed about was the pool not being done. Online it said that the pool would be completed on September 9th! I thought “ perfect! We won’t be there until the 10th!” However, it was far from being completed. I will definitely stay there again! Everyone was so very friendly and helpful.
I loved the updated decor. The staff, especially Mickayla was phenomenal. The only thing that I was disappointed about was the pool not being done. Online it said that the pool would be completed on September 9th! I thought “ perfect! We won’t be there until the 10th!” However, it was far from being completed. I will definitely stay there again! Everyone was so very friendly and helpful.

We were late checking in and tried to call but the 800 number listed on the e mail just rang tried another number from Google and that person wasn’t on sight and couldn’t let anyone know we would be a late check in. Anyway we arrived and Kim was very nice, answered all our questions, bed was comfortable and the shower was great!

My initial encounter was not quite pleasant with the young man who checked me in. Superficial. But Ms Kim made up for it. The kitchen staff was very pleasant. Good breakfast.The pictures you see are real. Nicely renovated beautiful courtyard, comfortable beds, clean, I like the laminate floors. My only downside was, there were tournaments going on and the children got quite noisy at night once they returned. But my second night got better when they were asked to silence the noise. Very nice hotel for the price compared to the nearby brands. I would visit again but making sure no group activity is going on next time.

Breakfast was good enought, bedding is good and clean. The front desk was very bad, It pains me to say it when one person ruins your entire stay. The girl on the afternoon shift should not be working with the public. She was rude and rolled her eyes and even exhaled loudly when you told her something that she could easily retaliate, it was part of her job, it was nothing out of this world.

I don’t usually like hotels where the rooms open out to the outside. However, we walked into the lobby and saw clean and it was the time we went to our room. Everything was neat and clean. The front desk staff was fantastic. They gave us good recommendations on restaurants. The room was clean, but I only had one down per person and I could’ve gotten more but it’s nice to have two per person. I love that they didn’t have carpet. We would definitely stay here again.

The room was clean and updated. The bed and pillows were quite comfortable. The quality of the television could have been better. We didn't use the pool, however other guests did and it looked very clean. It seemed like the hotel was located in a nice and safe area. The grounds of the hotel were kept neat and clean. The treadmill in the gym worked fine.

I had a great trip. It was exactly what I needed. It was the most reasonable room available in the area and I didn't have to sacrifice anything. The room I was in seamed to be recently renovated. The beds both had nice linens, a thick comfy comforter and plenty of better than average pillows. The bathroom was recently done. The shower floor was...river rock, I guess you would call it, with nice tile walls with a new large overhead shower head. If I had to make any critique, it would be on the shower. It was very nice, but the craftsmanship on the renovation wasn't... the greatest. The valve to turn the water on and off was very hard to turn, the adaptation of the new showerhead to the existing plumbing looked clunky, and the meeting of new tilework to old tilework didn't leave them with allot of good choices for cohesion. The water pressure wasn't great and the water could have been hotter. That being said, That's if I am trying to look for improvements! None of those things impacted my stay in any way. New furniture, full size iron and ironing board. A nice desk to work at with a lamp with plugs for my laptop. Beautiful new heavy duty wooden shades on the windows. The pool looked very nice, there was a fountain in the courtyard that lit up at night and a firepit area. Best of all was the full breakfast. Belgian Waffles, sausage gravy and biscuits and everything in between. Plus a self service BAR. Beer and wine on tap! A wonderful place to stay!

Now we know why I stick to name brand hotels. Equus Inn was just okay, barely. It's a motel. The beds were OK. The bathroom closet (with the shower and toilet) was a dark cave with a super loud fan when you turned on the light. Whoever chose those dark brownish stones for the shower floor made a bad call. Gross! Couldn't make myself step in there with bare feet, had to use my flip flops for shower shoes. No housekeeping service for 3 days - but they were sure to include an envelope in the room, asking for tips. For what, exactly? Sticking to name-brand hotels from here on out. After check in and based on a lot of the reviews, I was at least looking forward to the breakfast buffet in the morning. It made me sad. The menu: VERY dry egg 'patties', biscuits and gravy, box cereal, VERY tiny containers of yogurt, oranges, and TWO large coffee dispensers - both of which were EMPTY. No bacon or sausage links, no toast or bagels - just sad. After day 1 we didn't go back.
