The front staff was excellent! They made the best of very bad situation. With that much construction going on Tiling floors on the whole first floor was crazy. Painting in the hallway that was then getting tracked into the rooms. We got moved but the situation was crazy. To pay full price in this situation was not right. Breakfast was minimal as we tiptoed around some of the area being tiled and some not. Seating was inadequate, as was options. The pool area could have been set up with seating but it was not.

Would definitely return. Loved our stay. We went for the indoor pool, however, the heater was broken and it was holiday season so the maintenance tech was unavailable. We will definitely call before visiting though. Thank you

Massive renovations happening right now. That was inconvenient, and I wish I had known ahead of time. Nonetheless, our room was great, I was pleased with it. Breakfast was great. Property has indoor pool, but the pool deck is normal tile, and that tile is super slick. The pool deck is also angled slightly with incline leading to the pool itself. I was concerned with my three year old walking on pool deck, losing his balance, and rolling into pool. All in all, I would stay here again, the issues are nothing that we can’t work around and deal with!

The hotel was in the midst of a major renovation. The lobby was a construction zone. There was no front desk, only a small table. Drywall dust was everywhere. The first floor hallway was only partially carpeted, with drywall dust everywhere. I drove out of my way to stay at this hotel, in a small town. I should've been made aware of the condition. The third party I booked through made no mention of the state of the property.

The property is in the finishing stages of a remodel. Good to see they are keeping it up to standards

They are remodeling right now but its going to look amazing when they are done. Our room was spacious and comfortable.

The whole property is under MAJOR construction/remodeling. The check in process was fast and easy and the best part of our stay. Our whole floor smelled like cigarettes from people propping the door and smoking constantly. We were nearest to the door so it was always happening. Breakfast was ok. The toaster was broken so it was pretty annoying you couldn’t make toast or heat a bagel. The waffle maker was not working either. The pool was not attractive in any way. Seemed very unclean. My parents had to be relocated from their first room due to the whole 3rd floor overpowered with paint fumes. Wet paint everywhere was just bothersome. I don’t know why we are paying full price for a hotel that’s clearly in transitions. It just took away from our family vacation.

Only issues; pool was over chlorinated and there was not water fountain or ice water at the drink station.

It was a great trip the only problem I had was I couldn't take a shower or a bath because of all the dirt and scum in the bathtub other than that everything was perfect the beds were soft the breakfast was good the people at the desk were great we had a good time thank you for everything

We had a comfortable overnight stay. Everything was clean. Breakfast was well stocked.

Very clean hotel

Would have been great if the room air conditioners were not blocked by a bed. Property has recently been renovated but the renovation of the rooms with 2 queen beds is a very poor design. The air conditioner is blocked in the rooms with 2 queen beds by a bed. This results in very little air movement in the room and a hot room. It was so hot I was unable to sleep and instead spent the night sweating.

The a/c was too noisy. Elevator was out of order and we were on 3rd floor. Otherwise all was pretty good overall except the bathroom vent fan didn’t work.

Beautiful place to stay. Super clean my family an I enjoyed it very much. My 1 yr twins ran around the room the floors were clean carpet as well. We stayed in a king room and we had two playpens we still had sufficient room. Absolutely loved this place.

The outside of the property and the interior hallways don't represent how nice the rooms are. The rooms are actually much nicer inside. It was a nice property, quiet and cozy. Only stayed overnight while taking a trip to the area. I would stay there again.

The room was hot the whole time. The thermostat wouldn’t go below 66. I had to wake up every hour to hit the button on the thermostat to make the air come on. I will never stay here again!

I have never stayed at a hotel where I would describe the room as “roomy,” so I was amazed at how spacious the room AND bathroom were. It felt as though the property had been recently updated, but maybe I’m incorrect. Regardless, the choices made in design were clearly intended for guest comfort and convenience.

Large room, clean and updated. A/C worked flawlessly, TV was good, everything was well maintained. Breakfast: pancakes, eggs, bacon, biscuits, gravy, muffins, etc. Coffee and hot water available 24/7.

Commode lids wouldn’t stay up.

The front counter lady was very helpful and went out her way to help me with an issue with ordering supplies for my trip.

Great place to stay for a weekend. Easy drive from hotel to sights in the area. Breakfast bar was good. Staff was excellent. I left an item in my room. Called while I was driving and Lisa went to the room and retrieved my item for me so a friend could pick it up later.

We stayed here to bookend an AT section hike. It is a very hiker friendly property with secure parking and in a great location. Your front desk manager - the gentleman - does need some training on customer experience. We showed up and checked in on the first day and he talked to me like I was walking in from the street begging for charity instead of a paying customer. He barked orders at me about how to swipe my card as an example. And I know it wasn't me being too sensitive because his colleague looked at me apologetically and I think she went out of her way during the rest of our stay to check in on me every time we walked past and gave me some extra support during a market purchase there. If it weren't for the fact that I had prepaid both hotel stays and Hiawassee isn't teaming with other hiker accommodation options during off season, I would have walked out at checkin. It was insulting, demeaning and utterly unacceptable for any establishment to treat people that way. We are due to return to the area to continue our section hike and if I can help it, I will try my damnest to stay somewhere else even though the rest of the staff, the accommodations and facilities were absolutely amazing. I don't really want to subject myself to being treated like that again.

Front desk attendant all he could say was NO! Never tried for a solution. Toilet ran all night. Air Conditioner sounded like a helicopter was landing all night, had to shut it off and try to get some rest in a hot room. While the person up stairs was stomping all night. The front desk said NO to a room change from the get go when the refrigerator had water coming out of it, when we first walked into the room. Also NO to put some frozen items in the freezer for us. Then when I called for a late check out due to a conference call I had to be on at check out time the answer was NO again. NO NO NO is all I heard from him which in turn makes me never want to stay at a Holiday Inn again. Especially in Hiawassee GA.

Great check in

They put me in a room occupied by other people upsetting and embarrassing both occupants and us. They laughed it off as a slight accident. HA HA. Offered us another room but we asked for refund and Expedia said no. Seems Expedia enjoys loyal customers being treated like dirt. Well that ends my relatioship w Expedia and family and friends will book thru a more sensitive ,caring organization. Amen!

Booked my hotel reservation through hotel.com. Hotel doubled charged me. Never told me they charged my credit card for $600+ After discovering charge on statement, I contacted hotel. I have called 3 times and each time I’m told that the Manager will contact me, but I have not received a call. Matter is still unresolved after 2 weeks.

The room was clean and very comfortable. The lady at the front desk was very nice when we checked in. I was traveling with a friend who had her own room. She noticed we had rooms on different floors and immediately moved the rooms to the same floor without us even asking. We really appreciated that!

Linda and Kayla were the absolute best. They were very kind and helpful throughout my stay. They were knowledgeable about the surrounding area and provided excellent recommendations. Not only that but they got me extra coffee for my rooms coffee machine, and helped me with my television when I had trouble with it. I was very comfortable here and they made it even better!

In town to whitewater raft the next day. Comfortable, clean place located in the middle of town.

It was close to the venue we were attending.

Location is off the road, up a hill, nothing nearby to walk to, but it is close to the Main Road.

Convenient to stores I was working in.

Nice, clean updated rooms. Checkin and checkout was quick and easy. Coffee in lobby was excellent. No view of lake and powdered eggs for breakfast.

We really enjoyed going to this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room we booked was very clean. The beds were super comfortable. The breakfast options were fresh and delicious and more than what we expected for a continental breakfast. Thank you for all that you did to make this trip memorable and great!
