We stopped here last minute on a road trip and it was the nicest hotel of our 6 days!! Pool, Hot Tub, clean room, clean bathroom, all the amenities we needed. We were so impressed and it was affordable too. Would definitely stay there again and will be looking for Best Western Plus on more trips.

Nice place to stay, very quiet, and excellent part of town right by Iowa State. The only downside is it’s a really big place, so you may have to walk far to get from your room to breakfast or the pool. It could use another elevator in the farther hall. But the pool and hot tub were nice, breakfast was okay, and I would stay here again.

Our stay was disappointing, especially given the high rate we paid for graduation week. After a long day of graduation the day before and packing/loading the moving van throughout the day, we were eager to use the hot tub, only to find it scalding hot—completely unusable. I normally enjoy the water quite hot but this was dangerously hot and we could not get into the water even after trying to give our feet and legs time to acclimate to the temperature. Despite multiple attempts and inquiries, we were met with rudeness and dismissiveness from the front desk. Staff insisted it had been checked and was 102°F, but it clearly wasn't. I asked if the temperature could be re-tested but was told that no maintenance was available, When asked if there was any chance that we could just use the temperature gauge to verify we were basically dismissed . Very disappointing experience but I guess now we knew why we had not seen anybody in the hot tub throughout the duration of our stay.

A dog friendly hotel with a great area for dogs to walk and go potty. Conveniently located for dining, fuel, etc. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. My only complaint is that the pool area is run down. The painting on the concrete surrounding the pool is peeling off and looks awful.

First room we checked in had dirty towels hanging on the door, toilet was running when we walked in. Went back to front desk and the staff was less then apologetic and said she would come get the towels! I was like how do I know the room was cleaned??

Our room had no bedsheets, the pillows have stains. The sink was plugged up. There was like burn mark on the mattress cover, like someone had smoked in it. The upstairs room was loud, and you can hear both rooms next doors. You can hear every door slammed. I am not impressed.

Every room smelled of cigarettes and we moved twice and they had all of their outside designated smoking areas right where people enter/exit the buildings. This was supposed to be a nonsmoking hotel! Also, every trash was overflowing and construction men walked by my window at 0700!

There were a lot of things that should have been cleaner. All the door jams to every room were dirty and hadn't been cleaned in some time. The carpet in the hallways was needing replaced. The paint on the ceiling in the bathroom was all peeling off and the tub would hardly drain so you had to stand in water over your feet to shower. The lobby was super clean and cute but the rest of the interior needed work and better cleaning

The room was okay but not at all as I expected with the rating that Expedia listed for the motel. Room was crowded, bathroom small, bathtub old, and lighting inadequate. There was also a chemical smell in the room that bothered me. Breakfast was okay but somewhat limited.

Their continental breakfast is good. Rooms were clean. The only thing that i didnt like about the hotel was the television. Not very many selections and the channels came in like they were from the seventies. Not clear at all. Also no guide so no way to tell what the channels were until you clicked through them.

This hotel is clean and I love the close location to Iowa State campus. The room doors could stand to be replaced. They are lightweight and wood and block no sound. You could hear every conversation in the hallway. There’s also a big enough gap between the door and the door jam that I could see light into the hall.

Very nice staff at check-in and checkout. We had a suite, which allowed more space. But there was no room division for privacy if needed. The mattress need replacing, rolled to one side. There could be be more detailed cleaning. Really liked the airconditioner/heater with the temperature and fan control. We love having a constant fan blowing to provide noise control inside and out. It was anEXCELLENT buffet breakfast, with plenty of room for seating and the food/coffee was spread out in 3 room areas. The omelets and sausage were restaurant quality. Many food choices provided. Good location to the college campus, restaurants and freeways.

The property is fine. The individual checking me was not interested in welcoming travelers. She didn't break a.smile once, she gave us a room as far away from the elevator as possible (we're in our 70's), she didn’t bother to tell us about breakfast, and directed us to park in the back of the hotel, when parking in the front (plenty of spaces) was actually closer to our room. An exhausting individual.

One day of our stay the pool did not open due to us being told maintenance staff needed to check the levels and hadn't come in yet. The one day of our stay it did open, we got to the pool at 10am, no towels and they did not stock them. In our room our shower curtain was covered in dirt as if someone muddy took a shower and it never was cleaned. No housekeeping service in our room during our multiple day stay. Staff walking around on cell phones. Our door keep stopped working on our second night. We went to the front desk and rude customer service telling us its our own fault for keeping it in pocket. We didn't ask about fault or accuse anyone, only asked if room key could be reprogrammed.

The hotel was clean and the staff was nice. However, the night before check out, we noticed a water leak from the ceiling on the 1st floor. The next morning, when we got up and went to take a show, there was no water. The provided no warning they were turning the water off to fix the leak. The leak of course was not their fault. They should have communicated to people staying that they were going to be turning the water off to fix the problem. My daughter was in the shower and the water went off and she had shampoo in her hair. They should have warned people so that you could have either not showered or got it done before the water went off.

The front desk lady charged me a second time. I already paid pre-stay. Then she swipes my card for "incidentals". Only to have been charged for the same room AGAIN.. then i have to call for 10/15 minutes to figure out why. Zero stars.

This hotel was almost impossible to access as most roads were closed for the Iowa State football game. It took 15 minutes of driving through other hotel and random parking lots to finally access. Upon checkin, we were rudely told the pool and hot tub were out of order. This is one of the reasons we chose this particular hotel. The kids love to swim. The shower bathtub was a re-bath and sounded like the floor was giving out. The mattress was very uncomfortable. The breakfast had out of order waffles. Overall, not a good stay.

The hotel is beautiful, you feel like home. The room and bathroom were both clean and nothing was broken. The bed and pillows were very soft, prefer more of a firm bed/pillow but nothing wrong with them. The pool and hot tub were relaxing and weren't overpowering of Chlorine. Bonus. The biggest issue we had was the breakfast. The biscuits for the biscuits and gravy were rocks, at first we thought them to be decorations. But no, they were just hard. The ham, we assumed it was ham, was burnt. The potatoes were supposed to be fried but were more of a mush. There was cream cheese but no bagels. No sugar free options for jelly or syrup. The apples were mostly bruised. We love staying at Best Westerns but this breakfast was truly a dud.

It is an older facility that has been well maintained, and that all my requirements it was good for the price. The bed was excellent as well as the pillows. The soap and shampoo were the highest quality. Breakfast was a little disappointing. I had a circular fried egg that included red and green peppers which is something I cannot eat. However, there was enough to make a good breakfast.
